12th Ave. Grill
Food and service was very good. My only complaint is that the restaurant gets very noisy when busy. We were seated near the bar but as soon as people started sitting there it is almost impossible to have a conversation. This seems to be a major problem in a lot of the newer restaurants.
The appetizers were lovely. Ordered the steak and pork chops medium rare. It was more in the medium side. Therefore, pork chops was on the tougher side. The timing of the appetizer and entree left much to be desired. Have been there before and had excellent service. They may have not anticipated such a busy night. The hostess had an excellent attitude. If the other employees tending the customers had followed suit it would have been exceptional service. I do appreciate that they use many local ingredients and seem to pay attention to sustainability. Will definitely go again!
Service was outstanding!!! We were the first table to be seated and had arrived before they opened. So we can't speak to the service when they are busy. There were 14 people outside waiting for the doors to be unlocked. Once unlocked, there was a mad rush for the bar seats. Apparently there is a healthy happy hour following. Appetizers were tasty and well priced. The menu had a balanced selection of entrees and they were tasty and well priced. All in all a great experience. Looking forward to returning.
Excellent restaurant! The food is delicious and the staff are wonderful. Our waiter Cory A is exceptional! Friendly, gives wonderful suggestions and compliments, professional and very attentive.
Excellent food and great service!! Lamb osso buco and beef cheeks to die for. Love the roasted Brussel sprouts. Interesting twist on ahi poke w capers and truffles yum
There was no rice , they ran out of mash potatoes and one of two daily specials. There menu is just to small. Not enough entree or starter choices.
There do great desserts but someone is sleeping at the management wheel.
There were a lot of local customers and they were lined up before opening. The counter seat seemed popular. All the seasonings in the dish were devised and ate very deliciously. The floor staff were very friendly and enjoyed drink recommendations.
Cocktails, appetizers, main course, wine and dessert were all very very good. Our server Lauren was extremely attentive, as was the manager Russell. We have heard for a long time how good this place is and now we can confirm it is true. We'll be back.
Wonderful as usual. It’s my favorite restaurant on Oahu
For the ambience, the service, the menu selection, and quality, 12th Ave. Grill is the best deal going in town. My whole family just loves this dining spot
I come back to this place every year or so. The menu items are always hit and miss. I preferred the environment at the original site. There was nothing particularly bad about it. It just doesn't quite make it for me. Sorry?
Our meal at 12th Ave Grill was great. Our waiter, Tony, was personable and helpful with suggestions. He
took excellent care of us all night. The food was top-notch. I had the Ahi Bruschetta and the pork chop and the sides with that were very good. I look forward to out next visit!
Great food, service and atmosphere. Will definitely go again!
Gotta say ... Tony is my favorite waiter of all time. He has been my favorite since the days when he worked at 3660 on the Rise. He did an excellent job of helping us celebrate our August birthdays.
Service was great! Waiter was friendly and personable.
Food was excellent, friendly staff, and an overall fantastic evening. Large party in the banquet room caused exceptionally slow service. Can’t really blame the kitchen they were just overwhelmed.
First time here and it was great. They were super busy so service took a little longer than usual but I was okay with it because the delectable drinks and food made up for it. We are from Maui and I have been convincing my hubby to come here on our last two visits, I was so pleased when he finally said yes, no regrets at all. Our tasty libations of the night consisted of an old fashion for hubby and of course I am a martini gal so the lime ginger mint martini was to die for! We enjoyed the brussell sprouts salad and the tako for our small plates. I had the scallops and he had the ribeye steak, both cooked to perfection. Lastly, the affogado for dessert, with peanut butter gelato hit the spot! We will definitely be back
Our dinner was superb from start to finish. Our server was very knowledgable about the dishes and the wine list and provided the perfect mix of being attentive and personable while allowing us to enjoy our meal and each other's company. The food, wine (I was thrilled to find a gamay on the wine list) and after dinner drinks were fine tuned.
Ashley was our server and she was fun, knowledgeable about the menu and recommendations. We have eaten here several times and the food is always great. Portions are very generous and good variety on the menu. I had the special for the night, hanger steak and it was so amazing and tender. Others had the lamb osso buco, scallops and ribeye steak. All amazing and delicious. I question why we don’t cone here more often! We will. Mahalo to the kitchen for an excellent meal!
My chicken was burnt around the edges. I didn't mention it to our waiter because I didn't want to wait for another dish to be prepared. I removed the burnt pieces and ate the rest of my dish. We all had a great time and would return again. Great staff
Great food & service! Ashley the server is an asset to the restaurant. Her description of menu items & knowledge obviously a plus. Recommendations made by her well received & we were very pleased with the items .
High quality food without the pretentiousness. A casual atmosphere with great service; we got a free order of bread pudding for our anniversary! A highly recommended classic restaurant that will outlast hipster trends.
No other restaurant has Family Sunday Super that is so unique and delicious. Our favorite is their Fried Chicken with mashed potatoes, biscuits and haricot vert with local tomato. Also southern gravy. Always an amazing aloha welcome and a great waitstaff. Dessert was fresh berry crumble.
Ashlee was our server. Great service!
We enjoyed the coconut shorbet.
What a secret gem! Our hotel recommended 12th street and we were not disappointed! Our friends and my husband had the porkchop and my husband said it was the best he has ever had. I'm a good cook and he loves mine. Our friends said the same, I had the steak and it was delicious the seasoning on it was great. On the outside we thought it was ok, where on vacation and a local that lived in the neighborhood recommended it he worked at our hotel. When we walked in it was so nice and so welcoming. We had such an enjoyable evening. A shout out to our server Russ he really took good care of us! Don't judge by the cover as they say it's the local restaurants that are always the places you remember!
Outstanding Sunday dinner. The meal was the best we’ve had at the restaurant (and we’ve had some pretty good meals in the past) and the service was spot on.
Excellent service from Febreeze (sp?) food was delicious. Don’t like the fact however that they push you out after 1 1/2 hours if you are a party of 2. The manager cane around and told us our table was reserved for 7:00 and that we would have to vacate soon. Not a very welcoming feeling 👎
Great dinner with clients before the theater. Cory’s service is always spot on!
great ambience and stellar cocktails; it was difficult to gain the waiter's attention when needed
This has been the second time that I have visited this quaint restaurant. It has not disappointed. Great service and outstanding food. I will certainly return.
awesome friendly wait staff, and terrific food!
We’ve been going to 12th since it was opened years ago about one and a half blocks away. It was the second truly farm to table restaurant on all of the Hawaiian Islands with the best wine list and always specials on the board. We’ve been overseas in France for six weeks dinning at some amazing restaurants and it allows us the ability to compare restaurants. 12th Ave. Grill is on the same level as ABC Kitchen in NYC, one of the first farm to table restaurants in NY and Jean Georges first. The waitstaff is amazing, always attentive but not overwhelming. The wine list, and we are wine Educators from NYC for over 30 years is perfectly married to the food. I can only say that after six weeks away the food has gotten even better. My wife had one of the restaurants mainstays , the pork chop with a more refined stock and awesome complexities. I had a new item, short ribs in a bark and intense south western sauce in a deep bowl. Maybe the best since Cosme in NYC.
Our server was extremely nice and comped some of our appetizers due to the main course not being prepared to diners’ specifications.
Atmosphere and service was exceptional with friendly and knowledgeable staff. Food was tasty and beautifully presented but flavors tended to be lacking. We were there on a date and shared the beer soup and carpachio which were both tasty. He got the lamb and I got the scallops. While both tasted good and were both perfectly cooked, they both definitely needed more flavor. We wanted to take some of the sweet from mine and exchange it for his savory. If not for this we would have given them 5 stars!
Fresh oysters were $12 for three. Hokkaido scallops were $38 for four.
But very tasty. We are going back for more. Service was excellent too.
Service level has to be improved during busy time, 6pm to 7:30pm
Great food, great service, great place. A little noisy. Interesting wine list. Great well trained, wait staff.
