    Always a nice place to go, very relaxed and friendly and the food is consistently good and they have an extensive wine and cocktail list. One suggestion would be to dim the lights a little on a night, it may add a little more cosiness and a cooler vibe to the evening, it was very well lit, but overall another good night at 21. Thank you.

    The Food, Wine, and Service was stunning. Every course was spectacular, the staff were enthusiastic, knowledgeable, polite and welcoming. Today's breakfast to take home was great. World Class. 21 is an oasis of civilised tranquility.

    We both enjoyed the Fixed Price menu, and the food was delicious, as always. It's a pleasure guessing some of the flavours, especially in the Starters. Piped music was played later in the evening, when the restaurant was quite noisy. This just seemed to cause some large groups to talk more loudly across their tables. Not ideal.

    21 always keeps up its standards, the good is always superb and the staff very attentive. We have been going here for many years and will vomtinue to do so as long as we can. Terry lay Bourne has a super team and should be proud of them all.

    Excellent service, the tasting menu was only five courses, the cheese course was an additional amount. Not big enough portions for a five course meal. Came out and got a pizza after a bill of £220.

    Staff are friendly but they don't constantly hover at the table. The set-up is excellent - beautiful table cloths, solid cutlery, crisp napkins and soft butter that has not come straight out of the fridge. Food nicely presented, substantial and perfectly cooked. Oh and the house wine is lovely.

    5 of us enjoyed a fine lunch. Very interesting menu, and the dishes presented were excellent (soufflé, terrine, oysters, beef, brill, clafoutis and lemon tart). The wine list is not extensive but is well chosen and one should a suitable accompaniment to one’s meal. The service was accurate, unobtrusive and well timed. We’ll be back.

    Superb menu. Great service.Thoroughly enjoyed our lunch. I enjoyed a whisky sour cocktail as an aperitif (my favourite). I requested no egg white, also the addition of two cocktail cherries. it was served as I asked for. I did not expect it to be served frappe - too much ice - apart from that - very good. Next time, I will request three ice cubes. This being our first visit to Cafe 21 in about seven years. There have been improvements. Glad that a gratuity is now optional and not included in the final bill. In the past, asking for it to be removed or reduced places the diner in an uncomfortable position. The quality of the ingredients, presentation and most importantly taste was superb.The waiting staff were attentive Price? Maybe a little more than we expected, but in our minds, worth it.. All in all, it was a very pleasant and enjoyable experience. Keep it like this and will be back.

    As always, this restaurant lived up to expectations. The menus were interesting, and we were pleased to see old favourites there (cheese and spinach soufflé, calf’s liver..) as well as new choices. Pleasant young staff.

    Delicious Sunday lunch. The chicken with truffle mash was divine and the Yorkshire puddings and veg were cooked to perfection and my ceviche starter were delicious and fresh. The restaurant was quiet when we were there but that was down to the Great North Run being on. My two friends from Malaysia who dined with us really enjoy their meal as well. I have dined at Cafe21 for years now and the food an service has always been spot on and today was no exception. Still on of my favorite restaurants in Newcastle
