Top marks overall. One issue. Both myself and my guest had to send our salads back because the protein, the salmon for my guest and the chicken for mine, were undercooked. Both salads were replaced quickly.

Even though we have been to Newport numerous times, it was our first experience at The Mooring. Overall a great experience, the service, the ambiance, the food. I just wish there was more more choices but it might be because of COVID.

Great food and exceptional service

Wonderful place for some really awesome steak!

We made reservations figuring we would get a cozy table. The table we were seated at faced the kitchen area and coffee area. We were not happy and the restaurant should never seat people near a kitchen. We were hoping for a seat in the main area. The food was VERY overpriced and the steak I ordered was very salty I sent it back. The calamari was chewy. They should give you more food for the money. Not going back.

We were visiting Newport from out of state to celebrate an anniversary. We chose 22 Bowen’s for the excellent reviews, and we wanted an upscale steak dinner to celebrate. Our drinks were great and appetizers were excellent, but it really fell off from there.

We both got a 10oz fillet, and both were very dry. I ordered mine medium and my date ordered medium well, but even a well-done steak cooked properly should be juicy. Our sides were unimpressive and left us wanting more.

Our waiter was kind and he set a very relaxed pace to the evening which we were fine with, but we had a later reservation, and as the night progressed he rushed us to order desserts and eventually forced us to leave MID-BITE. This always bothers me, but this is particularly unacceptable for a restaurant where I have a tab of $200+ for 2 people.

I’m giving 3 stars for service because our waiter was very nice and attentive to my food allergies. He brought complimentary Prosecco for our anniversary, but we barely had time to enjoy it before being forced out. I do wish he had acknowledged our anniversary more than that once at the end, but that’s nit-picky.

Overall it was a disappointing evening for what I thought would be the most special part of our anniversary weekend.

OMG. I will never visit Newport again without eating at 22... Fabio was one of the best servers I have ever encountered, the Watch Hill oysters I am still dreaming about, and if you like lamb - get the rack, 2 slabs of 4 frenched chops. Amazing. Great martini, great wine selected by Fabio. I can't wait to eat there again.

We celebrated our Anniversary in Newport and chose 22 Bowens for our special dinner. They did not disappoint from the cocktails and wine through dinner and dessert. I highly recommend this restaurant for any of your dining desires. You will have a delicious meal that is expertly prepared and served their exceptional staff.

We very much enjoyed an early dinner at 22 Bowens. Our server Adam was excellent and the food (wedge salad and rack of lamb) was delicious. The layout for Covid is safe and doesn't at all feel weird.

Our lobster roll, chowder, calamari and scallops were all fantastic. My only criticism is that there wasn’t nearly enough cheese on the French Onion Soup this time - I’ve had it here In the past and it was AMAZING. I will definitely order it again, but I’ll make sure to request extra cheese.

A little over priced for what you get. The sister restaurant Mooring, is similarly priced but the food is far better.

Stopped in for early dinner. Manager accommodated us early. Waiter was very appreciative of customers. Food was excellent.

Excellent food and service!

Service was great, food was terrible. I had a ribeye cooked medium rare, that felt and tasted like a rubber tire. My wife had a filet, also medium rare that was tasteless and dry. Only savior was the steak sauce. Which you should never need with a good steak, that should have been my first hint. Will never come back.

Ate at the end of the night. Staffing was short & was focused on cleaning up for the night. As a result will give it a bit of time before we make reservations again

I celebrated my birthday there and I can’t express enough how perfect everything was. The staff was so kind and welcoming! Also our server Rebecca was AMAZING! So attentive and sweet! I couldn’t have asked for a better place to celebrate a covid birthday!

Great food, great drinks, great wait staff. Worth the splurge! They also have lots of creative indoor/outdoor spaces set up so as to be able to allow appropriate spacing and adhere to current guidelines.
