Steak was average for the prices that they charge. Adrian our server was incredible, friendly and attentive.
My son had a new York strip. He said the quality of the meat was poor, worst he's ever had. He also did not like the truffle fries. I had the short ribs, tough. The calamari was soggy and cold in the middle.
Everyone was attentive. The chef’s cuisine is creative and delicious. It’s great that the chef also uses locally sourced foods…a real treat! Prices are average to high but the quality is excellent.
Very enjoyable night with delicious food and excellent service. Doesn't hurt overlooking the marina either.
Appetizers were good, drinks were good. Service was excellent, waitress knew the menu and how items were prepared, brought everything we needed promptly. My problem was the quality of the steaks, I ordered the top of the line New York, it had so much gristle it was hard to eat, by the time I trimmed it there wasn't much left. Filet was just ok. Halibut was good but very small portion. Salmon was just ok.
I guess I was expecting more from this establishment
If you’re here for brunch, skip the sampler. It’s about $15 worth of food for $30. I’m sure they think it’s cute to serve on wooden cutting board, but it just makes all the food go cold. Serve it on a heated serving platter. I know we’re supposed to be on resort time, but waiting 45 min for the lukewarm food is absurdly slow. When we arrived for our reservation, more than half the tables were empty, but the hostess had to see if a table was available for us. We figured they were assuring spacing due to COVID, until they sat another party at the table immediately next to us. Next time, we’ll drive back to Lake Geneva for breakfast.
The food was amazing but the wait was not. It took over 45 minutes for us to get our breakfast after we ordered.
Also it took 15 minutes before anyone even came to greet us and take our order.
Beautiful restaurant and great location. Was just disappointed with service.
It was nice lobster was very tiny
I had the worst halibut ever. Not only was it served with over cooked red beet risotto it was presented so horribly not to mention it was one of the chef dishes.
We sat by the fireplace but we’re still chilly . Burger and fries were delish . Nice wine list . Beautiful venue
Food was great and presented well. Waitress very fun.
Surprisingly - of all that we ordered the pancakes were not very good - Everything else was outstanding
Food was excellent- we had the three course special, steak and lobster. So yummy!
The restaurant was nice and convenient while staying at the Abbey resort. Prices were a little expensive for the food and the menu was small. The restaurant was really nice and the views are spectacular. Overall I would go back.
Great restaurant, amazing food!
We have been guests of the Abbey Resort and have dined at 240 West and its predecessor restaurant many times over the years. Their food is consistently 5 star quality as well as their service. Never had a less than perfect meal there.
Don't know if it was a busy night and the kitchen was distracted, but our food was overcooked. I ordered the halibut, and it was hard, dry, and tough. It looked like a good cut of fish, just terribly overcooked/sat under a heat lamp too long. My friend's ravioli was hard and rubbery. Despite the beautiful views, the good service, and the well-prepared drinks, I would have a hard time recommending 240 West for a weekend dinner.
The restaurant was a little chill. Everything else was wonderful.
The host called me after making my OpenTable reservation to let me know if I was one minute late they would give away our table and not seat us. First time I’ve ever had an open table subscriber contact me to notify me that I shouldn’t be late by one minute. Weird.
Poor food quality, poor service. Too pricey for the quality of food.
The calamari was good. I had the halibut and my husband had the burger. Both were mediocre at best. The halibut had a few slices of fruit on top but no other garnish, and it was tasteless like it had no seasoning whatsoever. The flavor was bland like it had been put in the oven plain. To be honest I could have done a better job at home. The truffle fries were overcooked and chewy. My husband said the marmalade on the burger was overpowering. Overall the atmosphere was relaxing as we had a nice view of the harbor, and we enjoyed the piano music, but the food fell short of our expectations, and it was warm and stuffy and a bit uncomfortable. I do think the prices were pretty fair.
Service and night entertainment were very good. Had the Prime Rib prix fixe special. The onion soup and salad were meh. The crab legs and shrimp didn’t really have any flavor. There was no drawn butter for the crab and no bowl to place empty shells. We ordered prime rib medium rare and it was rare/blue. It was also quite fatty and sinewy. Lastly, they placed it on top of the mashed potatoes so when you cut into it, the meat just slid around the plate. Overall, the prix fixe meal was disappointing but the service was attentive and the ambience/piano player was very entertaining. Not sure if I would recommend.
Good portions. Ate there 4 times some service was great some average.
The restaurant was extremely quiet, not many customers. We had a window table overlooking the harbor, very tranquil. The cocktails were very tasty. The food was prepared expertly & was pleasing to the pallet. It was a special evening exceeded only by the service & the food.
We stop here every time we are in Lake Geneva. Great experience everytime
Beautiful setting and great food. The piano player really makes it a great experience.
Dinner was inedible. Dirty glasses, hair on plate , disgusting
Our server was outstanding! Food was delicious. Everything was wonderful
Halibut, beef ribs and vegetables were dry. Reheated???...
Nice view on the harbor. Nice service.
Ed provided great service. Food was innovative and original. Average price. Food too a long time to come out. Beautiful atmosphere.
Great food and staff
Went for a Birthday dinner. Service was the worst I've experienced in my life!! We were given water and waitress did not return for 30 min then after repeating order got our order wrong. Had to ask manager for water refill and after getting order wrong forgetting the 2 salads for our table then brought the wrong salads that had tomatoes on them past their prime.. waitress then forgot cocktail that was whole reason we picked restaurant in 1st place. Everyone's allowed a 2nd chance so don't completely write this place off as I have no idea if the fault was with the waitress staff that evening or the management. But based on all the positive reviews I had read before choosing this restaurant. Our actual overall dining experience was lower than subpar. So disappointed.
4 foodies with money to spend who will not be back.
Food and service was great. Will go back for sure.
Nice restaurant but food was not seasoned well. Prime rib was bland and not worth the price. Lemonade tasted like water with a few drops of lemon and no sweetener.
Service was fantastic, our waitress was very attentive to our needs. Food was very well prepared, but the filet was a bad cut. Otherwise, everything was very nice
Excellent food and great service. Definitely will be back.
I’m a big burger fan. Well, this guys have one of my top 10 burgers. Absolutely delicious!!!
Poor waitress was the bar tender and our waitress, she did her Absolute best and we will be back.
First of all I made reservations on 3/18/2021, then asked for a nice view (window view). When we got there on Saturday there might have been 10 to 12 tables occupied. Next the Hostess sat us all the way in the back of the room. Obviously, I asked her when we got to our table, if we could get a window table. She immediately said that they where all reserved, O boy I thought that's what I did on 3/18/2021. Ok so we sat in the back, next we all ordered the Prim Rib special ($45.00 a Pop), which included soup or salad a cold plate of shrimp and crab legs and the main course. Soup was ok, next the cold plate comes out, I have never seen crab legs the size of a #2 pencil. The shrimp sauce was frozen and when asked for some melted butter for the crab legs, the waitress brings out this liquid in what looked like a shot glass, it was cold. The Prim Rib was the toughest piece of meat any of us had ever had. I did take home a large portion of the Prim Rib, because I got tired of chewing, I was going to give it to my Dog, but I couldn't do that to her, so I threw it out. Now understand, we have gone to the Easter Brunch for many years, and it was wonderful. Somebody new must be in the kitchen. I wrote a review on their website (240 West) it was pretty much what I'm saying here ,except I told who was ever in charge to take a short ride over to The Mars Resort on Lake Como Saturday night and order the Prim Rib Dinner so he or she knows what a Prim Rib dinner is supposed to look and taste like.
