6 Mile Chophouse

Overall good experience my steak ordered medium rare was more medium but other than that it was a good meal
You of the best KC Strip Steaks I have had ANYWHERE!! Service was superb. And desert was almost indescribable.
Great atmosphere as well.
The 6 Mile Chophouse is our go-to neighborhood restaurant. We can walk easily. Wine-down Wednesday is a plus but it is still our place to go. The wine list is good (albeit not always every selection in stock). The food is good and diverse - typical chophouse, American fare. We have always been treated well. They have always stood by their offerings. This is certainly one of the better places on the west side of Lawrence.
Anniversary dinner. They gave us a free dessert which was very nice of them! My steak was ordered medium and came out as well done. They offered me a salad to eat while they remade it. Came out a perfect medium. No complaints!
Food was fabulous, service was wonderful. Ever in Kansas again- we will definitely be back!
Steaks were ordered medium rare and arrived well done. The grill was too hot and the char overpowered the flavor of the meat. After mentioning our disappointment, there was still no visit from the manager. This meal was way to expensive for the quality received. If there is a next time, I’ll skip the steak and go with the burger. It’s more of a tavern than a chophouse.
Great Food and Service
Definitely Recomend
Always great food and a nice wine list. We always try to get there whenever we are in lawrence
Usually Six Mile Chophouse is pretty good. Not this time. Food wasn’t great. Service was pretty poor.
Love this place!! Always our go to for special occasions!!
Using Open Table to make a reservation at 6 Mile was easy and fast. It was an all around great experience!
It was fine... but our waiter just kept lingering. Like he wouldn’t ask a second question. He just stood there. But I would come back, that was just weird.
This was our first visit here - there were five of us - everyone's meal was delicious - would definitely go again!
I really don't like giving bad reviews, but since you insist:
a. The service is weird! I don't know why 4-6 different people end up serving us (taking us to the table, water, menus, taking order, delivering food). Who are all these people?
b. This is the second time in the past few months I have been to 6 Mile Chophouse and both times the food was kind of "meh." It wasn't necessarily bad, but I could do better at home and when I go out to eat, I don't want to be eating something that I could make better (and a whole lot cheaper) at home. I want it to be kind of special. The salad was okay. The pork chop was okay (adding a little spice of some sort to the bland maple syrup might help) and lukewarm. The baked potato was lukewarm with a clump (yes, actually a clump) of American cheese and sour cream on it. The chocolate cake was dry and seemed to be a few days old frozen dessert (and I actually could buy better at the grocery store). And both times, we had to ask for bread. Apparently, as a savings measure, you don't get bread with your meal unless you make a special request.
c. Actually, the ambiance was fine until the end of the meal when a table for 14-20 was set up in the middle of the room and filled with very enthusiastic (and loud) young people. I felt bad for people who had gotten there after we did--that can't have been a very pleasant experience to eat with all that going on.
I won't go back. It's a little pricey not to be a better restaurant.
Decent but over priced. Service was average at best for that kinda money ive had alot better
Binrthday dinner- very pleasant
Eaten there twice great food great experience both times.
Families came together to celebrate grandma’s birthday. The dining room service was excellent, surpassed only by the food. Wonderful!! We’ll be back.
We had a lovely brunch! The omelets were great and the Challah french toast was outstanding! The large stack of pancakes was delicious and gigantic!
Great service and great food. Will definitely come back and visit. I will highly recommend this place to family and friends.
We like 6 mile very much. However, the music is usually way too loud. Music should be in the background, not so loud that it’s difficult to have a pleasant conversation with people at your table.
We traditionally attend a Mother's Day Brunch. By far our experience at the Chop House was the best ever. The waiter was excellent as was the food. We plan to attend this Brunch next year.
Normally 6 Mile is great...this time we were a little disappointed. Our server was very pleasant and apologized a lot, but seldom came around...forgot things...was not up to par as a server. Not very attentive. My wife's salmon was excellent, but my prime rib was mediocre. I ordered it medium rare, but it came out medium well and was an end piece. Forgot the au'jus and horseradish sauce. Then the au'jus was cold, as was the prime rib. We will go back, as we've always had good experiences there, but this time was disappointing.
Everything was amazing, food, staff, and our private room. Outstanding job!
To start with, the hostess didn't present the most pleasant personality. She seemed put out by having to seat us at our reserved time. The server was inexperienced, but made up for it in effort. You really should know your cuts of meat and be ready to offer recommendations when asked, but as I mentioned he did bust to try and make up for his lack of knowledge. The food? We both ordered steaks. One a ribeye medium rare, the other a KC strip medium. We ended up with two strips steaks, and if they were KC strips don't bother paying the extra for the KC instead of their regular strip because it wasn't that good. After trying to explain to the server that one of the steaks was incorrect, both in cut and doneness, I gave up and ate the steak that was presented to me. I never like to send things back to the kitchen since you never know when they may return to you or in what condition, so lesson learned. If it is a steak you want, and you want it prepared correctly, go somewhere else.
Great food and service as always!! Keep up the good work!!
Great food!! Great service!! Got loud for a few minutes, but quickly got quieter.
Full disclosure. I was on a first date and I really can’t remember anything except the conversation. From what I remember the food came quick, the waiter was, in fact, very professional, and the food was prepared properly. I had the KC Strip and she had a sirloin. The asparagus was well cooked. The decor is nice. I made the reservation online.
The food was excellent as well as the service! Very impressed and can’t wait to come back!
The food was amazing, as always. The service was pretty good! Jacob made great recommendations about food. A very nice place to go, especially for special occasions.
Service was terrible; I had to flag another waiter to get our server when we still had no food after 40 minutes after ordering (we had barely seen him since ordering). When food arrived, it was barely warm, not hot. The meat in three of the entrées in our group was overcooked. Another entrée arrived 10 to 15 minutes after the others, despite it being an appetizer ordered as the main meal. Service was so slow we were almost late for our following event. The excuse was, “the kitchen is slammed.“ it will be a long time, if ever, before we go back.
Our reservation was for five people. We had another person join last minute. We asked to be moved from a booth to a table to have more room and they pleasantly accommodated us. The server was very professional yet pleasant and attentive. We got a mix of appetizers and meals. Everything was very tasty and nicely presented. Large wine by the glass selection.
Great menu with appetizers and variety all the way to full entrees... our meal was served promptly on a busy basketball game night
Delicious food and drinks! The service was great! We had a fabulous evening.
Burnt ends were very fatty and the service slow.
Was over priced and did not meet expectations. The food was very average and nothing stood out.
Prices were too high for the quality and quantity of food. We had 2 prime rib sandwiches and a 7oz sirloin that was very small and overcooked.
Great great
Of all the restaurants on the corner of 6th and Wakarusa, this is, for now, the best. Wine down Wednesday's add to the recommendation as all bottles of wine on their extensive list are 1/2 price. The menu hasn't changed, recently. The crab cakes were OK. The chicken was tenderized appropriately with a bit too much sauce, perhaps it could be drizzled to the side. The Walleye was disappointing only because I am a fan of the fish. The breading was a bit much and it appeared to be cooked in too low a temperature as the breading had significant oil content. This all written, it was a very pleasant evening with pleasant wait staff (always seems to be case here). We will return.
We had a wonderful experience at 6 mile Chophouse! It was our first time dining there and we greatly enjoyed our evening. Top Notch drink selections including the best Moscow mules. We enjoyed their appetizers and had a full dinner. Service was wonderful.
