The food, service, and ambience were all fantastic. It was a great way to spend New Year's Eve.

Our experience at Anneke Jans was excellent and we will return. We found the service to be responsive, courteous, and friendly. Given that we were a party of seven we experienced quite a bit of the menu and there were no complaints. The oysters, muscles, orzo, salmon, steak frites, and sirloin were all outstanding. And the fries were ridiculous, worth the trip just for the fries (excuse me, pommes frites).

I hate to leave a review and help others find this hidden gem, but this is hands down one of the best meals we have had in some time. The bar tender was a on point, the chef is clearly an amazing talent, and our server was awesome. The mussels are amazing, as were both the risotto with salmon (was a special) and pork chop. The creme brulee was also one of the best I've ever had. Add in the complementary valet parking and Anneke Jans is one you can't beat!

Everything was great. Everyone was attentive and the food was DELICIOUS.

Wow! Fantastic dining experience. OMG, the short ribs special tonight was the best! Every bite melted in the mouth like butter and paired with the apricot purée...over the top! Martinis, perfect as was the service. This is the gem of Kittery. We’ll be back for another date night soon. Cheers!

Best meal I have had in a long time

Had a wonderful and absolutely delicious family meal. High end enough for a date night but family friendly for the whole crew if you can't get a sitter!

This is a really nice restaurant in a great part of Kittery Maine. I went On a Sunday night in the off-season’s. The place was hopping. I had oysters kale salad and short ribs. I also ordered two mocktails. The service is great as well as the food. I would’ve liked to have seen more seafood on the menu as we are on the ocean and in Maine

Food and service was amazing! Restaurant has a great ambiance (especially for a date). We had the gnocchi appetizer, sirloin and short rib entrees, and creme brulee for dessert, and they were all amazing and so worth every dollar spent. I’ll definitely be back!

We had a delicious meal. The short ribs and the mussels with the blue were so good. But what even made our experience better was the excellent service we received from our waitress.

Our first time at Anneke Jans was absolutely wonderful; the ambience is so cozy and private for inside dining even during COVID19. Cocktails were fantastic. The cheese plate was stunning & delicious. We ordered the braised short ribs and the NY strip steak and both were perfectly cooked. Overall I great experience and would definitely come back!

Exemplary food & service

A surprise for Kittery, ME! This restaurant presents itself as an urban bistro. It succeeds. Interesting, varied menu. Good service. Great find and good value!

Good meal; seated outside as requested and felt adequately spaced from other tables but server was very close and leaned over table several times (instead of walking around) which felt a little too close for comfort. The bread that was promised never arrived. Pricy, but food is good and menu is creative.

Open Table was easy to use for a reservation. Parking in that park of Kittery is tough so allow time to find a spot. The food was good- the gnocchi had an interesting mix of flavors with it (yum); the chicken was a little bland. Don’t skip dessert!

From the pre-dinner cocktail to the espresso everything was perfect as I knew it would be. I love walking across the bridge from Portsmouth to dine or have a libation at Anneke Jans.

Wow! Been meaning to go for some time but never got around to it. So happy we went for our 15 year anniversary. Simply wonderful experience. Now we don't have to travel all the way to Fore Street in Portland. Anneke Jans is our new favorite special occasion place.

This was an unexpected delight. We booked last minute, we were just looking for something with outdoor seating available. It was a much more upscale (but casual) venue than we expected. The service was outstanding, the food was amazing. Best oysters we ever had! They did a great job with ambiance on their makeshift outdoor seating in the street. We will definitely return when we visit Portsmouth/Kittery again.

Excellent espresso martini with real espresso. Good wine list but pricey ($17 for a glass of le crema chardonnay). Food excellent. Salmon cooked perfectly. Outside ambience wonderful. Service excellent. .
