Excellent, all around Restaurant. From Valet Parking to the ambiance, food, and waitress it was an awesome experience.
Best meal on 2019
Another perfect meal at Artisanal. I had one of the two new fall salads on the menu. Mine was a work of art and delicious as well! My friend had the other and loved it too. Then I had a favorite, the gnudi with vegetables. My husband had the octopus which we all love, then the best pork chop ever, cut into sections for ease of eating. Our friends loved their halibut. A wonderful evening all Around with nice wine recommendations also.
Beautiful, elegant, yet rustic atmosphere which perfectly fits the mood of the Blueridge Mountains. The service is exceptional, and the food is a delight!
Excellent. They write the book about fine dinning
Artisanal never disappoints. The wine list is superb and the craft cocktails are fabulous. The menu has something for everyone. My group enjoyed lamb tenderloin, duck and halibut with creative and delicious sides.
Oh my! Wonderful and will go back time and time again. Great food never gets old.
We booked the evening for a Birthday and not a word was mentioned by hostess or wait staff. The reason we did it through open table was we wanted it to be a surprise, my inlaws 80th Birthday (they are within a few days of each other) and it was intended to be a great celebration evening , special in every way. Wait staff was sufficient but not the service we us usually get that is attentive in every way.
This place was amazing! The staff was very knowledgeable and professional. The food was superb and so was the ambiance. We had outdoor seating and the heating lights kept it nice and cozy. We will be back next year!
It was great as usual
Five star restaurant service was fantastic atmosphere was lovely my only disappointment was they forgot to offer me cracked black pepper when my meal came. Other than that everything was perfection!
When I am in Banner Elk it’s my go to place to take someone special. The food and preparation are always top notch.
The ambience is always very nice, the staff is always spot on and the food is always impressive.
I’m not really a bread eater, but your scones and biscuits, is when I give in.
I’ll be back.
Food - The pork chops were too tough to eat. Ruined the experience. My Girlfriend enjoyed her short ribs though.
Ambiance - The restaurant decor was nice, however the bench row sitting placed us on top of two couple which made everyone’s dinner conversations awkward.
My husband and I had a lovely time from beginning, cocktails in the bar, to a wonderful dessert. We dine out often, but this was an excellent experience.
Excellent restaurant, great food, excellent service.
As usual the experience of dining at the Artisanal was over the top. We look forward to it every time. Our waitress this last visit was amazing. Best ever. the food was beautifully prepared and so delicious. I love the presentation of each dish and how well it is timed for perfect dining.
Dining at this restaurant I absolutely perfect. From the valet, who is right on hand, to take your car, walk you into restaurant...to the magnificent reclaimed wood interior is a treat! Entrees are delightful well thought out. The menu is varied. There are seafood dishes to beef and lamb entrees. Food is prepared and presented expertly. Large selection of wines are available in addition to other alcoholic beverages. Desserts are many and very tasty.. you must be prepared for a larger expense than for other fine dining establishments. If you are unable to finish your meal, it is whisked away and packed in your automobile, which is waiting at the front door.
We have dined here several times and the experience gets better and better. Our server was efficient, knowledgeable and friendly. The food was beautifully presented and delicious. Perfect temperature. Desserts were creative and so tasty. Great wine and liquor selection. Our takeaway was given directly to the valet and was waiting for us in our car. I love the equestrian themed atmosphere. It was a perfect five star experience.
Once again, such a memorable meal from start to finish. Impeccable food and service in a beautiful setting.
A meal at Artisanal is always fantastic, but this meal was above and beyond expectations. The artistry, quality, service and ambiance are all top notch. Do not hesitate to make a reservation when in the High Country!
Outstanding, as always. The best restaurant around.
Great experience. Hope to return soon. It was a bit difficult to get a reservation, but I eventually did.
Love this restaurant, great food, great location, great service
Absolutely outstanding food and service. We sat outside next to the mountain stream but the entire place is cool and the wine cellar is killer. We did the tasting menu with wine pairings which ranks right up there with the best meals we have had including the French Laundry or Patrick Guilbauds in Dublin.
Artisanal is an exceptional dining experience. Wonderful food and attentive service.
Always the best. Especially the back porch!!
So glad a friend recommended Artisanal. Two couples went and we all thought it was FABULOUS. The ambience is outstanding and the food and service were exceptional. It is expensive but well worth it. We will definitely go back.
What a wonderful evening we had at Artisanal. It began with the lovely setting and decor, the friendly greeting, and our most delightful, efficient, and patient server Jordan. Four of us were seated in a comfortable banquette near the kitchen and it proved to be a fun spot. Watching all the staff work was akin to enjoying a well choreographed dance. Despite the activity, and adding to the ambiance, was the overall calmness and quietness of the room, allowing for easy conversation, a rarity in many other restaurants now.
The food and drink were outstanding. From our perfectly made cocktails to the amazingly delicious chefs tasting menu, with wine pairings, we oohed and ahed with each bite and sip. There were also complimentary mini yeast rolls served so warm and soft they melted in our mouths. And we couldn’t resist made to order pimento cheese scones, fluffy little triangles of deliciousness served with pepper jelly and sorghum butter.
All four of us cannot wait to return! And there’s talk of moving to the mountains just to be able to dine at Artisanal more often.
Delicious and easily accommodated our dietary needs
We went here last year for my fiancée birthday and we're delighted to return again this year! The restaurant is spectacular and well worth every penny. Coming from Raleigh and being big foodies, it's some of the best food we've ever had and we have been so happy to find such a fine dining gem during our time in the mountains!
Yes, very nice place, especially the outside deck!
Wonderful as usual- we love it and the food is always absolutely amazing!
The N.C. answer to NY’s Blue Hill at Stone Barn or Manhattan location. Perhaps better.
Superb place to visit and an outstanding menu.
Great experience from beginning to end....lots of atmosphere and service and food exceeded expectations....
We were expecting a wonderful dinner and experience for our anniversary. The restaurant did not deliver. They have a very snooty attitude about themselves and we're not very accommodating to us. I have a food allergy and told them about it when making our reservation. They indicated it wouldn't be a problem and that they would be more than happy to adjust heir menu. Upon arrival that was not the case. The waitress seemed very put out about needing to do anything beyond presenting the menu. Only after being fairly assertive with a manager was I able to get something to meet my needs. Unfortunately neither of our entrees were very good. The dessert at least was wonderful. In my opinion this restaurant thinks it is a four star establishment but it really isn't. They really need to come off their high horse and concentrate on improving both their service and quality of food. Very expensive for what you get.
We truly apologize. Our reservationist did not hear mention of your interest in the tasting menu. In flavorful cooking, accompaniments are prepped with garlic. We were able to serve you the oyster dish with a special prep with no garlic (kind kitchen sous). Also, you had the duck dish with no garlic. You said and appeared to enjoy both dishes & dessert. We are always complimented on how kind and hospitable our staff is. We could be arrogant but have never chosen to operated that way.
