Priding themselves on bringing together the best of Turkey’s regional cuisine, the Azka Mediterranean Meze team use authentic herbs and spices and recipes passed down through the generations in a vibrant menu of ocakbasi cooked specialties. Great value for money. More a cafe type than restaurant, with super tapas. Just wish the tapas menu was all available, rather than have 5-6 items 'off the menu".

Bethnal Green Road. It was empty, and I couldn’t understand why, as the food was really good, and not too pricey. Then I remembered Ramadan! Which could have explained the slow service. We were the only 4 diners in there, they had at least 5, possibly more, staff on, but it was laboriously sloooow. I’m forgiving them though, because our meals were yum.

We went to Azka last Saturday evening for dinner, wanting to try somewhere local. We were blown away. The food was really excellent, the service was very friendly, and the restaurant provided exceptional value for money. We ordered the Hot Mezze to start and the Mixed Grill for mains. Delicious - bags of flavour - especially the Lamb Chops. The portions were generous, so we had enough for tomorrow's lunch as well! I eat out a lot, and a lot of restaurants (especially the more pretentious ones) over-promise and under-deliver. With Azka it was the opposite - a small unassuming restaurant on not the nicest of roads that was excellent. You could really tell that the meat was fresh and good quality. I would definitely recommend.

Azka Mediterranean is a small bright charming family run restaurant by Bethnal Green tube. Its BYO and very affordable prices. The tarama is delicious, and the portion is huge!! The pide with chicken is amazing, also massive. I would go again and again. The service is very attentive and friendly. A gem in East London.
