Basho Japanese Brasserie
chef's choice of sushi with a California roll
Shrimp Tempura Roll
Very attentive service times just right. Food is always mad good. Can’t go wrong with their cocktails, very balanced 👌
Fresh sushi with very good rolls and menu options at a reasonable price.
Great service and food! Will be back.
Food was excellent and service was excellent. Enjoyed Basho very much and will be back.
Basho never disappoints. The food is always fresh and the service is excellent. The outdoor patio has also become a favorite spot for dining during the pandemic.
Very good service and food. Fun drinks too.
Everything was average.
First time at basho was a pleasant experience. The food overall was very good, with a wide selection of sushi rolls and other dishes. I’d recommend the Phoenix and crazy rolls off their sushi menu.
Service was terribly slow. Food was just ok.
The last time I was here was in the summer and still has a great spot and Charm for great sushi to choose from. I highly suggest anyone in the area should come and see what’s there to offer, from other places I rank this a top 5 sushi spot on Open Table!
Place has really changed. Ambiance is certainly nicer, however, the food quality has gone down. For the amount paid, the sushi was just okay.
This is a very solid sushi place. Fish is fresh, sushi rolls creative but still mainstream enough to please most.
My friend got salmon teriyaki and it wasnt great, just good. So stick to sushi there altho hot appetizers are excellent. Hot sake is cheap and very good.
I recommend this place def.
Food was excellent. Didn’t like that we got charged for desert given it was someone’s birthday (most restaurants give the desert for free). Also cocktails were overly priced. Loved the ambiance and food was delicious. Overall I would definitely go again and do recommend it!
Average nothing special solid
Our group lunch, for 14, was very enjoyable. Service was very friendly and efficient and the food excellent.
Nice food, nice place, nice service
Great service and good food
Great food and service. We enjoyed a really nice meal before a Red Sox game. We will be back again.
Nice place with very good service. Sadly we were the only two people in the place so tough to judge the ambiance and the squid on the sushi roll we ordered was over cooked.
Not the best sushi I have had.
Waitress had too many tables but food was fine. Sorry they took eggplant off the menu
Daughter first Red Sox game.
Fantastic meal with creative sushi and terrific service for a group of 7!
Really nice experience. The food was great and so was the service.
Love the location, and the food is great.
Very nice place. I got sushi and a cocktail and a sake. I liked them all. Very interesting Cousy interior. Nice location
We enjoyed it. It was nice before we went to an event in the Fenway.
The fried chicken wings and sushi rolls were incredible!
Decent meal here the other night. The sushi was very good. We also tried the shrimp and shiitake appetizer, which was good, large shrimp, but a bit too much mayo on it in my opinion. We also got a yellowtail appetizer with jalapeño and it was a bit disappointing. For $14 we got 4-5 very thin slices of yellowtail, with a slightly too thick slice of jalapeño on top and very little sauce. The jalapeño completely took over the taste and flavor of the dish. We also tried the udon soup, which was fairly basic (just noodles and broth with a side of 2 shrimp tempura and 2 broccoli tempura. That was it. The tempura was a bit heavy and soggy, not light and crispy. I also asked for some chill powder for the soup and all they had to offer me was shiracha. There is also something just a little off about the atmosphere. The lighting is too harsh or bright. The music was rock and roll and there was a paint night going on in the restaurant. All of these things did not add to the experience. Nothing was terrible, but I prefer many other places.
The service was not good for this type of restaurant, the waitress messed up our order. We ordered chicken wings, 2 rolls and another dish. We never got the last dish and this was a simple order and can’t even get that right. She never bought out the soy sauce for the sushi until I ask for it. We ordered the fried ice cream and it was soggy and gross. The waitress never came by to ask how everything is or else I would have mentioned the soggy fried ice cream to her. I would not return back to this place and would not recommend it to my friends.
It’s expensive but good.
Excellent range of dining options, all of high quality in a very pleasant environment. I was disappointed to see that a favorite of mine, Okonomiyaki, was listed in the menu but has been discontinued as an option. Very rare to find it in Japanese restaurants yet an interesting and somewhat different dish than most.
Met here with a group of friends before a show at HOB. The food was really good and fresh. Limited GF. Miso soup and the mixed drinks were the favorites.
Basho is excellent for Sushi. We had the Fried Ice Cream; however, they fried it in the same oil they fry fish in and it tasted like fish. Very bad and made us rather ill. Beware of their fried foods, but the Sushi and Sashimi are excellent.
Food and service were fine. A little pricey.
Love this place! We go every time we are in Boston.
Very Limited gluten free options
Fresh fish, good drinks, excellent agedashi tofu
We came here for my boyfriend's birthday and we weren't disappointed! This was our second time here and it was just as good as the first time. The steamed pork belly buns are unreal.
Delicious food, great service
