Bella Trattoria Restaurant
Wonderful dinning experience. Appetizers to dessert everything was nicely prepared and tasted great. Staff was attentive and professional. Well done Bella Trattoria! We’ll be back for sure.
We had to get up to ask someone to take our drink orders. Then it took forever to get them an d the food.
Again, had to ask for the check and then when we got it no one came to pick it up! So, we had to take it up to them at the host stand.
They could learn something from the Steakhouse about service!
Excellent Service from Karen...Thank you! My meal was delicious.
Ok. Nothing special.
Went on a Saturday evening, and got the worst service I have ever had. Waited 30 minutes to have our order taken, food was dropped off by expediter, and our server never came back to check on us. When she finally did come to our table we were already done eating and asked for our check and a box, had to wait another 20 min for the box and our bill. We own and are in the restaurant business and I have never had that awful of service in my life. I expected more from an establishment of that type. The food was good and arrived in a timely manner, however this server needed quite a bit of training if she expects to make gratuity off her tables!!!
Beautiful historic feel to the building, cool downtown vibe you get what you pay for here maybe a little less. Tourest destination I'm assuming.
Good food, Excellent value, and Outstanding Service in a great atmosphere.
Really solid italian food. We were staying at the mission inn over a weekend and ate here twice (dinner and lunch). The menu is diverse enough that there is something for everyone. Portions are good sized. I particularly enjoyed the calamari, calzone, ceasar salad, chicken marsala and the bruschetta.
Decent food and ambience
We spent sereral hours didnt feel rushed
Delicious food and excellent service. Quiet atmosphere
Great experience. Enjoyed our evening!
Great place! Beautiful surroundings, decent food, reasonable prices. Could use more wait staff, food took a long to to come to table. Wait staff was apologetic and kind, however.
Valentine's Day dinner was wonderful, Thank you Karen for your great wonderful and attentive service, We definitely will be going back! Thank you for taking our picture!
Restaurant didn’t have our reservation in their system. Thankfully, we were relatively early on a very busy day (Valentines) and were able to get a table. The food was great and the service was pretty good too.
Jacob was our server and very friendly and polite. The food was outstanding; my wife had the chicken marsala and I had the spaghetti with meatballs. The flavors were awesome, but what we appreciated the most was the temperature. Our food came nice and hot. We were a tad nervous because the ambient temperature inside was a bit cold. We've been to your restaurant several times for special occasions, and will continue to do so. Thank you.
Mary was fantastic.
The food was good, the service was not. Got seated and had to go find someone to service us after waiting 15 minutes. Was suppose to be a special dinner and they sat us in the corner towards the back. I had made reservations 2 weeks before and thought it would be nice. The table cover gave my sweater white lint.
Guides and servers are much cheerful than before which made us very comfortable. Food we ordered were good, but pasta was very over cooked. It was like already-made canned pasta.
It was amazing
As usual, great dinner!!! Everything was perfect! Service was very good too.
We had reservations and still it was clumsy seating us. Their on-line menu showed things they no longer serve and what we were there for (eggplant parmigiana as vegetarians). We were celebrating an 80th birthday and asked well in advance for something special for dessert that we intended to pay for. Nothing was done. They put a coin-sized chip of chocolate saying "happy birthday" on a dessert we ordered off the menu. That's not celebratory for 80 years! The girl cleaning tables needs training to also be able to delivery drinks. We ordered iced tea and had to ask for sugar that required her to go somewhere else to get. Salt and pepper not on table - had to request and wait. Nice location, too bad it was unsuccessful otherwise.
Super cold, and very marginal food.
The food was ok. Some food like the risotto lacked favor. The service wasn’t great. Waited for 15 minutes before someone greeted us to take our order.
Everything was satisfactory and fine except we had a server, Mary, that was not attentive, had an attitude, was inpatient with special requests and never followed up when asked for additional items. We had to ask other servers who responded kindly and quickly. Maybe she had a bad day. Meanwhile would return but request a different server.
We would love to make this an annual family event - staying overnight and enjoying (extended) family meals together. So far, we’re up to 12 family members who had a wonderful experience, but the main (meal) gathering at Bella Trattoria was disappointing!!! We are looking for a fairly priced meal that’s delicious. We think the price range is consumer friendly, but I believe everyone was disappointed with the food quality. The Mission Inn needs to work on serving much better food at the Italian restaurant, but keep the price range the same, which is competitive with other Italian restaurants. Awful.
We have plans to stay at the Mission Inn next year, but I am scoping out restaurants that are much, MUCH better that may not be on property, unfortunately.
The bread. (2 out of 10)
Calamari (1 out of 10)
Focaccia (3 out of 10)
Caesar salad (2 out of 10)
Tomato soup (4 out of 10, but arrived warm ... not hot)
Other dishes, on average (2 out of 10)
Staff was friendly and food was Amazing!! Will for sure return.
Wonderful time of year 12/30, but of course the whole area is crowded, but found parking. Great location in the plaza and wonderfully lighting for the holidays. We had 5:15 res but got there early but was seated immediately in the indoor patio (all glassed in). Very quick service, ordered tomato bisque soup which was hot and delicious. My hubby ordered lasagna (his test to a good restaurant) which he loved. Said it was one of the best he’s had. I ordered chicken Marsala. Both of us brought home leftovers.
We mainly went up there for the Festival of Lights. Thought there would be more of a view from Bella trattoria because it's at the Mission Inn. The food and service were very good. I think it's silly when the restaurant makes you wait for your table at the reservation time when there are many tables available.
The restaurant was cozy and had a nice ambiance. The hostess, server and waitress were friendly and competent. I would not recommend going here during the Festival of Lights. It was too crowded, and congested. The only reason we went is because without a dinner reservation at one of the restaurants, or stay at the Mission Inn, we could not wander in the lobby area. In the end, we were denied access. So it was a big let down/disappointment.
It’s ok Italian food. They seemed pretty busy that day and maybe didn’t get our waters topped up as often as I would have liked but the waitstaff were nice.
Room was very cold and drafty. When we inquired, we were told we were sitting next to the air conditioner. No offer to move us. Portions were small for the price. Staff was otherwise professional.
I am a return customer. Really enjoy the food and atmosphere
After being seated it took about 10mins to put in our beverage order. Then having to wait to place food order. Giving it was not crowed at 7:30pm only two families in our one side. Throughout the dinner we were checked in about three times. After getting food. Some folks that doesn’t matter but some places you want the server to check in and tell you what the special or favorite entree is. We even looked at the menu before arriving to later find out the entree was not being offered hmm
Not impressed at all. Food was marginal at best. Service was lacking. Waited for an hour before pizza arrived after everyone was finished at the table with their meals. Only 4 in our party. Would not return for another meal.
This is a beautiful restaurant with indoor/outdoor seating located in a histoic Mission building in the downtown shopping district. Service was pleasant, but extremely slow. Salad came overly saturated with an extremely unremarkable dressing. In my view, an Italian restaurant should use a better grade of olive oil. Entrees were acceptable but not outstanding; chicken marsala was overcooked, not hot enough, and lacked flavor. It looked like a commercially-made sauce was drizzled on top. We were surprised that valet parking was difficult to find and that the walk from the car dropoff to the restaurant entrance was not obvious.
My husband and I went here for our 5 year wedding Anniversary Dinner and the food was absolutely delicious. He had the Chicken Marsala and I had the Chicken Parmesan and we both gave some of our food to each other. Both were delicious entrees as well as shared a chicken Cesar salad and we ate everything. It was perfectly cooked like a Chef Ramsey meal. 5 Stars all the way.
Everything was lovely. The food and wine was delicious.
We had a reservation and were seated immediately. After ordering it seemed to take quite a while for our food to arrive. Our meal was excellent, but the noise level as very loud. All of the wait staff were very nice.
Not recommended for Christmas holiday. You will NOT have access to the Festival of Lights inside the Mission Inn. We were restaurant patrons, BUT locked out of the Inn. There are more highly rated dining options in Riverside. Enjoy those for the holidays and skip Bella Trattoria, which is pretty average.
