Benihana - Alpharetta, GA

To start on a positive note... My waitress was awesome! She conducted herself professionally and her appearance was professional. However, the host was unprofessional and unwelcoming, the entire staff with exception of my waitress and the chefs appeared upkeep/sloppy. I had a reservation at 7 pm, waited 25 minutes to be seated and another 30 minutes for a chef. The first turn off was the riff raff in the parking lot.

The service was good and the food was excellent, but I am very confused about the COVID-19 precautions. Benihana's website says that social distancing is being enforced, but we realized that another party who made a reservation at the same time would be seated right next to us...as in, the next chair (12 inches from me). Luckily they did not show up.

I love Benihanas. I typically go to the one in Atlanta but for the last few times I've been going to this one and I love it

This was the best experience I’ve had coming here. This location has normally been bad for service but this time was excellent.

So much better than visiting the Buckhead location.

Best hibachi I’ve ever had! The fried rice was absolutely amazing and the shrimp and scallops were outstanding!

Made a reservation and had to wait an hour and half just to get a chef to the table. Ridiculous!

Nelson our chef was great and fun. Server very attentive. Manager touched our table and took our picture. I think management or ownership changed from our last visit.

PROS: Xavier was our server & he was great & attentive. He kept our drinks fresh during our entire visit. Only item he did forget to serve us was that 2 of us had the 6 course meal, which included the green tea ice cream at the end. We didn't get our ice cream! We shrugged it off because we were entirely too full to eat anything at that point anyway. Our chef David or Dan was from CA on a temporary basis, he was entertaining & engaging with us. His food he cooked was delicious & fast as we all came with appetites. CON: I will mention when we came in restaurant, there was no host, so I went up to next cashier/hosting station where I saw other guests & servers gathered & server there said to go back to 1st hosting desk & wait as she'd be there momentarily. Apparently she was the host! From the time we walked in the door to the time we were finally following a host to our hibachi table, it had to be 10-15 minutes & we had a reservation & it wasn't crowded due to limited seating & COVID. I was getting annoyed as to why is it taking us so long to be seated with no crowd & we had a reservation? The front of the house seemed disjointed. I could've moreso understand if I had been greeted 1st, then they needed a few minutes to get our table ready while we waited in the customer waiting area, but that wasn't the case here.

OMG the chef 👩‍🍳 from California was the BEST EVER! The waitress Kia was great also.......the chef said he was I only here for 2 weeks please KEEP HIM we coming back before he leaves. The service was awesome I have come to this location often but this time was by far the BEST EVER! And the food was tremendous

I love visiting this location whenever I'm in the Metro Atlanta area.

The food was good, the presentation was fun and energetic. The service was a little slow (i.e. waiting for drinks or appetizers) but the all around service experience was still good despite that.

First off.... I have never received a table touch from a manager!!!!!!!!! That small touch made the best impression at the end of our dinner. Furthermore, our server and cook Xavier and Nik were amazing. This location is definitely better than the Peachtree Road location. Bravo!

Not sure if the chef we had was new or not but our food was burnt. The server barely came back to check on us. I asked for spicy shrimp and it wasn't spicy. I've never had this issue before with them but I was not satisfied this time around.

Food was great. Service was ok. Cleanliness was poor. Found the restaurant floors dirty. They spilled a hot sake and didn't clean up the spill. Restroom toilets were disgusting. I saw blood and brown residue on the toilets. With the Covid situation going on and cleanliness not being a top priority for this restaurant is very concerning to me.

Definitely not here!!!! Service was terrible!! Dont waste your time

Thank God the Head Chef prepared our food. He had a great personality and the food was delicious.

Rigo is an excellent chef! Our server was also attentive and friendly!

Food was good. Service was great. Side note... you get hot green tea included in your dinners at the hibachi tables. They are supposed to tell you, but they don’t.

I usually come to this establishment with my pregnant wife we were both served under cooked meat and have been sick since leaving the establishment.

Waited 40 mins for cook to come out when the place wasn’t packed, also bar wasn’t open. Spent Benihana‘s money but got McDonald’s service

We have always loved Benihana. Sadly, things have changed. We keep going back in hopes that it has turned around, sadly NO. The only good I can say is our Server was excellent. She was outstanding in a mediocre establishment. The cook was nice but was not a good cook. The rice was so bland that it could have just been plain rice. Someone at our table ordered their food well cooked so the cook took it upon himself to over cook our food as well. It is sad what has happened to Benihana. This was our last visit to this location.

Food was saltly and i made a reservation and they tried to sit a customer at our table!! I will not comw back

Nelson was great. We were surprised to be seated with strangers, especially strangers not wearing masks.

I don’t even know where to begin 🤦🏽‍♀️ .. our reservation was at 8:30, we were seated at 8:45 . The server arrived at 9:11.. they were short staffed and the staff that was present were training . No bartender was on duty so only beer , wine and sake were served ... we received our soup at 9:28 and a soggy salad followed... we asked another waitress why the other guests who arrived after us had already had soup , salad , drinks and appetizers . We also advised her that we still hadn’t received our appetizers or drinks . In which she promptly went to retrieve them before returning to her table . Our server finally showed up and the hibachi chef Steve .. he was awesome ! He turned the night around ... the food was delicious and the show was Great... we maybe saw our server 3 times all night , but she would just be chatting with different team members. Overall this was one of the worse for an Benihana location.

Fun dining experience. Chef was excellent. Good for birthdays.
