We were the only ones there at the time. Only outdoor dining is allowed in the county at this time. The waitress was attentive and the food came out quick. The waitress even noticed my birthday was in a week and offered me a birthday dessert. It was a good experience.

I was so bummed hibachi was open/a part of dining and it greatly effected the food... service was unfortunately slow and the food was sub par for the price. Considering, I (usually) love this place, I was disappointed...

It was quiet because of COViD and they had a limited amount of people allowed in the dining room. The quality of the food never waivers. It is always consistently good. It is always fun to watch the chefs toss their knives and do their tricks. Our chef wasn’t as coordinated as usual but he was still a good chef and great fun to eat here.

Love Benihana! Always a great experience. I love coming here for special ocassions. :)

I had a reservation for 3:00 pm I got a table until 3:40, I ordered 4 lunch plates and in 2 the had a mistake and instead of 16.90 each I had to pay one of 52.00

Carlos our chef had a wonderful personality however our food was extremely over salted and overcooked. $250 dinner that we all took most of it home.

Jonathan and Nicole were great! We celebrated my wife’s birthday and they both were very attentive.

Social distancing was good but they didn’t enforce mask wearing by guests. I noticed several times individuals walking to their table with no mask or wearing it wrong. Staff seemed a little overwhelmed at times

Woukd have said 5 stars for waitress and food but our cook was wildly inappropriate jokes when we were celebrating my 10 year olds bday and had my 14 year old daughter there too!

The chef who prepared our meals on the Teppan-Yaki grill, was doing a lot of cross-contamination when he placed the raw chicken on the grill he had just got finished making the garlic fried rice and used the same utensil he just used to turn over slimy raw chicken... he use immediately after to scoop the rice inside of the bowls I could not believe it.! I also asked for my filet mignon to be cooked to medium and he cooked it a lot harder than that! We spent over $250 including the drinks and overall this was just a horrible experience! He kept bragging and boasting that he had been doing this for over 10 years and that the guys at the other tables were newcomers and he could run circles around them! Total BS! I live in Carlsbad so this is my go to location and the whole experience was horrible!

Very upset and disappointed with the manager Robert. We had a reservation for 7:15. Showed up 2 or 3 minutes after and was told by the front desk that the tables were already filled by other reservations so we had to wait. We ended up waiting 50 minutes to be seated. I talked to the manager while we were waiting and when we were finally called to be seated he came over to us and said “don’t worry, I will personally come to your table and make things right”. We didn’t know exactly what that meant - free drink? Discount? No idea. Well we never got to find out, because he never came to our table. He came to the dining area several times and just stood there, but he never came.
The chef was very good Gaibel, he was professional and the food was delicious. Tasted way better than the times we have went to the Mission Valley Benihana. Too bad all of that was ruined by the front staff who didn’t hold our reservation and the manager who doesn’t keep his word. I will not be returning.

My wife and I visited the Carlsbad, CA restaurant in Sept 2020, the first time after its reopening. We've always enjoyed dining there, but this time we did not. We asked for outdoor patio seating, and were told to choose our own table. Our table did not appear to have been thoroughly cleaned/sanitized, so we flagged down a staff member who immediately cleaned it. The service there was very slow, even though only one other table was occupied in the patio. During our meal, we observed another server who was apparently on break, walking about the patio eating his meal. The manager checked on us, but his facemark was improperly worn below his nose. The food was very good as usual, but the service was very slow and we did not feel safe dining there.

Chef was EXCELLENT ! Towards the end of the night the waitstaff forgot our green tea, and we never received it . Other that- it was a wonderful experience !

I drove from Orange County down to Oceanside do you have enjoy a delicious Benihana on the grill meal. The rice was really undercooked the chicken was overcooked and just overall the food was not up to standard. I am a loyal client that Mrs. Benihana’s at least three times a month. It was the worst deal ever in the past five years. Also our waiter was very distracted and even though there was only a few tables being served because of Covid I still Waited too long to get service in between refills and more condiment.

The drinks are. A little pricey. Food is priced well but 14.75 for a 9os glass of wine and we had 4. They should have offered a bottle to buy or something. Esp
The moscato wasn’t worth $14 a glass :(

Birthday dinner. Cain was our server and is terrific. Meal and drinks were good. Pace was great and the patio is a nice place to dine. Everything turned out great with the service and food.

The food was amazing. It was my husband and mines anniversary. Haven't been out in what feels like forever. The service was great food was amazing had the lobster and filet mignon. It was butter.

I came for Entertainment. Maybe our Chef was tired.

The majority of my party ordered medium rare steaks. They were overcooked. Only one of my party members ordered medium well & his Filet Mignon steak was on the rare side.

Even though there were less people, it was very noisy. Probably due to high ceiling and nothing on floors to quiet sound. Echos. However, the photo came out better than last time. Last pic was so dark. Food was great, hot and chef was funny. Great job!
