Benihana - Dulles, VA

Food was outstanding, and customer service was excellent considering the current pandemic situation. Having said this, I would have preferred Japanese background music. After all, ambience and presentation is a win-win strategy.

We went for my daughter’s 19th birthday. Our Server was great, attentive and extremely kind. The chef however was not very experienced nor focused on our table. She was clumsy, did things oddly, banged on the table like 50 times continuously to the point my daughter and I looked at each other with a “what the heck is she doing” expression. Just extremely Odd. She crushed eggs in her hands and we ended up having to pick the shells out of our fried rice. She was listening into the conversation that was happening at another table and giggling to the men’s jokes that were speaking in Spanish. She undercooked the food and we believe that the meat could have been old because my son and husband were both sick later that night and the next day and they both ordered the steak. The restaurant was dirty, the walls were splattered, the bathroom floors were so sticky that my shoes peeled off the floor when I stepped. Gross! We used to love this place, but it has really lost its special place in our hearts and has gone downhill. Sorry to say, we’re not going to make another reservation here.

Having reservation didn't matter because we still had to wait over a hour from our reservation time to be seated. We traveled an hour to get there so we waited to avoid a wasted trip. First timer and last timer, the food wasn't worth the trip or money.

My husband, brothers-in-law, and I had a great lunch. The food was delicious, it wasn't crowded, and the staff observed CDC guidelines with respect to COVID-19. I felt very safe, and we had a nice time. The food wasn't the best it's ever been, but it was pretty darn good.

We had a fabulous time. Both our waitress and the chef were fabulous. We had a mini celebration for my son’s 12th birthday.

Manager Davana took exceptional care to the Family Birthday Celebration. Everything was perfect. The does outstanding presentations and all is enjoyed.

Celebrated a birthday this week. Good job with social distancing. We were disappointed that our cook did not speak English and entertain. The whole dining experience always include having an experience with your cook. She did a good job cooking but couldn’t understand us so it was disappointing. When I go for a hibachi grill I expect the whole experience. Next time will go to one that offers all

The experience was great however for our bill to be $100 the food was poor. The food wasn’t very flavorful.

since the virus it seems the show part of the meal and experience was completely lacking and yet the prices are still the same, not fair at all, not justified at all!

Had a wonderful Valentine's Day meal with the family. Social distance guidelines were being follow as directed and wonderful service from the time we entered the building. This will now be our Benihana's of choice to visit! We drove 1.5 hours to this location and glad we did.

Pretty run down. Food was okay.

This time I took my wife here for her birthday. We had a reservation. The food was great. The chef was not engaging and entertaining. The ambiance and atmosphere was not the best. It was not similar to the experience I had the last time I came here. There was another couple at our table celebrating a birthday as well. Nobody gave the happy birthday celebration to us or the couple at the table. It was very discouraging. The restaurant was singing happy birthday to other people while we were there. It felt as if they rushed us in and rushed us out. I don’t know if I will be back to this location.

TERESA was an amazing cook! We absolutely loved her. We live in Maryland but due to Covid the restraurant was closed so we made reservations for Virginia and we absolutely would love to come back just to have some more of Teresa’s cooking. Our server was also so incredible. Super friendly and we had a blast. Thank you so much.

We had a reservation, but still waited 25 minutes for a table. The hibachi cook had no personality and both of my kids found hair in their food...and it was ridiculously expensive for all that. Not going back.

Nice place to celebrate a birthday; seems like the cooks no longer have fun; show seems scripted and structured. Our server forgot about us and manager had to get someone’s attention. That was our second visit and our last.

Service and food was good.

Overall great experience. It is tough on everyone at the moment regarding the pandemic and protection protocols. They did a great job in that area and balanced that with delivering a great dining in experience.

Nice crew and great food

The chef was a complete novice who cooked the food out of order and did not prepare enough meat.

I brought in my mentor group of teens if color to have a dining experience and we were treated very poorly.

Seated quickly, served quickly, food was impeccable, per usual.

Food was good. Server was forgetful but nice. Missed the chef's antics, which is typically the norm. Did not offer or take our birthday photo.

Food was just OK. We had a reservation, and had to wait almost 30 minutes until we were seated. We had to ask for water refills. They raised their prices. Wasn't impressed overall

Our cook was weird, she forgot ingredients, messed up everyone’s order. She was awful.

It was an great experience but between the reservation time & the time we were actually seated was an extra half hour at least.

The. Manager at this establishment was very rude! Not only to the customer but towards her staff that was trying to explain what the customer was asking. This female manager needs more training! Will never return again. I felt bad for the waitress

Great food at a great price. Very safe with the Rona restrictions, we felt very comfortable.

Not sure why there could be any bad reviews for them? Food was great, not crowded(went on a Friday night). Chefs were entertaining (mine was Rufino). Just a great time overall. I will be back.

Birthday celebration with my wife. Unusually long wait for a table given that we had a reservation and restaurant was not remotely crowded. However, this was one of the few establishments in the DC area with indoor dining so it would have been ridiculous to complain. Food was excellent!

This used to be a decent place to celebrate. The food is not as good-lobsters were tiny, the meat was tiny and looked right out of the freezer. Too bad b/c my kids used to love it

We were out to celebrate our son’s birthday and everything was great. The service was prompt and attentive. The food was cooked perfectly and tasted great. We will be back for sure.
