    This was my first time to this location and it was a great time. We had a great table group and it made the night fun. Our chef Henry was awesome. I had the best food I have had at a Benihana in long time last night. If you go to this location ask for Henry, he will make you the best food and take care of all your special requests. I feel like I hit the jackpot last night with my dinner at this location.

    This Benihana (Westheimer - Houston, TX) has seen better days. The restaurant looks dated and to be honest, dirty. It desperately needs a renovation. There were lots of knats flying around in the lounge area. I was not totally disappointed with our experience, but it wasn't great either. The chefs do their thing and put on a good show, which creates a fun and entertaining atmosphere, but that's about it. The food was mediocre at best. The meats are bland, tasteless, and lack seasoning. I had to request salt and pepper. The service was okay as I think our waiter did his best, but seemed to be swamped with several large parties. He mistakenly did not get two things right on our order. Overall, he tried and I give him credit for that. However, for the price of the meal, the service needs improvement. It felt a bit impersonal. We were celebrating 4 family members' birthday. The waiter did acknowledge the birthdays and brought to the table complimentary ice cream for the birthday guests. Overall, for a special occasion, it fits the bill if you want a different or energetic experience. Otherwise, there are better places. When I got home, the sole of my new shoes were filthy from the restaurant floor. I have no idea what I stepped in, but it is indicative of what I initially said about the cleanliness. Management really needs to address operational issues. It could definitely use some improvement and would enhance the overall experience.
