Kyle was the best chef we have had. I have been going to this Benihana for over 20 years and he is by far the most charismatic and one of the best tasting chefs
Our chef was amazing! Been to this location numerous times and this has to be by far the best experience we’ve had. Our waitress was very attentive and courteous to our whole party, the only downfall was that we were sat next to the kitchen entrance, that wasn’t the best, but the chef, food and service made up for it all!
The food was delicious, as always, but my five stars go to our server, Marie. She was very friendly, very efficient and made our experience awesome!

Although I understand that you’re more about quantity, too many seats per table don’t allow for elbow room. Very uncomfortable, it’s not like it’s a cheap prices which I’m more than willing to pay but I would a little comfort for my bucks also.
good food and great entertainment value! really enjoy the evening whenever we eat there. the chefs are awesome and sooooo skillful!
So I have to give a serious 2 thumbs-down to the @Benihana San Diego. We had reservations for my sons graduation dinner. We arrived early and were told not to get settled because we would be seated immediately. An HOUR later, literally every single OTHER patron being seated and being told 2x being the hostess that they were LITERALLY just clearing OUR table right now we asked for the manager. The manager, not realizing she was within earshot of my brother (A Chef & GM) told the hostesses “to just get rid of us because they didn’t want to deal with us.” An HOUR AND A HALF (9:40 PM!) after arriving we still weren’t seated, they had ruined my sons graduation & caused my mild mannered 84 year mother to lose it. We LEFT and ended up with fast-food for his graduation dinner. Like my brother, a high end chef said, “You make reservations to help the house set expectations and be able to run the service efficiently. Customer service is all about setting expectations. If you know your entire reservation book is set you don’t take additional seating which could back-up those that are set. If your dinner service is falling behind reservation times you TELL your customers the truth and again set REAL expectations. If the house is already behind it ISN’T going to get better closer to closing, it will only get worse because staff will be getting off work. “ We were really disappointed in the treatment we received from top to bottom in this experience. A manager should have addressed us long before being asked to, but the avoidance was UNACCEPTABLE. Clean up your customer service @Benihana .
The cook's interaction with the crowd is what makes the dinner a fun experience. The food is always good but it isn't as much fun if the cook doesn't interact. Ours was great tonight. Thanks

Great to go to for occasions or drinks and appetizers. We had the chef cooking for us in front of us this time. He was awesome and kept it fun even tho the rest of the guests were on their phones or just boring.

We were seated with a very congenial group of people which made the experience all that much better. Overall, it was a very pleasant day celebrating my husband's 85 birthday.
Every now and then the King and I like to come down from Mount High to eat with the common people. Volcano out of an onion you say, shrimp tails flipped into a chef’s hat you say; what an amusing spectacle. Turning white rice into a PAC Man gobbling up it’s ingredients; what a laugh. All in all a tasty treat and entertaining way to spend the evening.
We had a wonderful time and meal. We even received two photos which we really appreciated! It was a special Birthday!! We will be returning next week with some out of town guests. Can’t wait! Thanks so much!!!
We loved the food and enjoyed the show.
We had a reservation at 7:15. Around 7:45,
(And after multiple people that came in after us with later reservations were seated) my boyfriend asked why we had not been seated. We had been somehow missed. The hosts had made eye contact with us multiple times, not sure why they never asked or wondered why we were waiting for so long.
Always a great time with family here. Steak was prepared perfectly and always delicious.
The company in our table was not the best, the cook was quiet, but the food was good
Only area of improvement is the wait time once you are seated. Takes too long for chef to come to table and twice now we almost got up to leave. I understand timing is done on purpose but seems to take longer than needed and could cost you customers to leave. Otherwise, always the spot we go for birthdays.
The food never disappoints, we celebrate all of my daughters special events there.
Thank you to our server, she was really helpful, she explained to us and made our first time there easy, and Fausto was funny and made our fun night.

Our chef Oliver was excellent and so was our waitress but not sure of her name.
We were there celebrating my son's promotion. Everyone congratulated him and they sang him a song in Japanese. We appreciated them making it special. Food was delicious.
Love coming to benihana’s, great service and food is excellent, it never disappoints.

We've been going to Benihana's for decades. We've always enjoyed the experience. In addition to it being my fathers birthday, it was also my two nieces first time. Keep up the good work and always focus on delivering value.
