My wife and I had a very nice dinner on the 16th of January. The Oysters on the half shell were wonderful. The dining room was a little chilly even though we were seated close to the fire. Andrew, our server, was helpful and attentive.

Reasonable pricing for seafood but we’ve had better seafood and other foods they served. The food presentation, atmosphere and service were notably on point.

Best, most consistent place in Williamsburg. And fine service. Just would tweak the wine list and the music. Some better Italian wines and a little Sinatra would be nice.

I had had some cocktails and appetizers with my boyfriend and we loved it so much that we knew when my parents came to visit we had to bring them in as well. A second experience led to an equally satisfying experience and will most certainly lead to many more visits.

The seafood was not seasoned or cooked correctly.

We went to Berret’s for New Year’s Eve dinner and it was beyond perfect all around! Our waiter was so attentive and enthusiastic about the food. First we were given with warm cornbread and hush puppies. Then we shared the hot crab dip with crispy pita wedges .. a must have! And then we each got “the blue plate” which included a cup of she bisque crab soup, best crab cake ever, grilled shrimp, homemade mashed potatoes... every bite was a 10/10. The portions were very generous and the overall atmosphere was welcoming and friendly and absolutely Covid conscious. Look forward to returning!

The food was OK. The waitress was to quick with wanting to clear the table for new customers. My son had not finished his meal and she wanted to take his plate. The restaurant has guests at every table. So the place is not Covid safe in my opinion.

Great location beside merchant square and one block from the end of Duke of Gloucester Street, still inside Colonial Williamsburg. The place to go for seafood in my opinion. Not a large menu but excellent choices. No need for more. My vegetables were lukewarm and I sent it back and it came back piping hot with a fresh plate, and the crab cake was very good. You know on second thought I should change this to five stars. Server and manager were very polite when they could not honor the open table dinng reward from open table. Price is very reasonable for the quality of food and the ambiance with the fireplace and the dining room. Table s spaced around the perimeter of the room. Felt very safe. Two dinner entrees with two sides, And my husband's salmon scallops and shrimp in parchment was very good although he said the linguine was a little chewy, and some actually crisp. To maybe ask in advance if that's to be expected and parchment. He ate it all anyway. the salmon was superb. Finished off with dessert, eggnog cheesecake and a browned butter cake with ice cream and caramel sauce. Dense texture somewhere between cake and a blonde brownie, it was soooo good. Started off with hot buttered rum, And my husband had a dark craft beer. $97 plus tip we thought it was an excellent price for the quality and topnotch service. My third visit and I'll be back.

Stopped for drinks and lunch. The raw oysters were excellent...salty and flavorful. The entrees were very substantial in portion size and very well prepared. Everyone in our party left very pleased with the food, service and atmosphere.

Vlam chowder was excellent. They did run out of rock fish so I was disappointed about that. Our waiter, Shanna was outstanding!

Excellent service and food. The restaurant got cold in the room we were in even though it had a nice fire in the fireplace.

We are from Michigan and cannot find a seafood restaurant that compares to Berrets. We will be back when we return to Williamsburg next year.

What a fabulous meal. The seafood was so fresh and there was very little filler in the crab cake.

In the past lived at Wmbg and went to Barrets alot. Upon this visit, several years later, felt good there but the food has gone way downhill.

As usual everything at LE Yaca is perfect from food to service to ambiance. Clearly the best restaurant in Williamsburg and Hampton Roads area

Visiting Historic Williamsburg for second time. We had dinner at Berret’s two years ago and made sure to make our reservation for this trip. Food is delicious and our server Andrew was exceptional. The folks at the door are not the most welcoming as they bring you to your table, but service is exceptional once seated. On both occasions we had the pleasure of sitting in a very cozy New England style booth. This adds to the experience - quiet, intimate, and charming. The open dining room atmosphere is likely to be very different based upon my observation. Highly recommend, traveling with husband and twin twelve year olds. Please ask for Andrew-his wit, charm, knowledge of food and wine was phenomenal-he made the kids feel so important and welcome. We are from SC and our daughter asked for sweet tea. They don’t carry it but he made her a freshly brewed blend along with a simple syrup. Even made one to go! Hearty food, appropriate portions, all home made. Try the lava cake-it’s a family favorite.

Food and drinks were amazing as usual. Victory Point oysters were great.

When we are in Williamsburg we try to go to Berret's at least once. The food is always good, and is served hot. The wait staff is attentive and informative. Prices are reasonable.
