   This use to be one of my favorite places to go. This was my first visit since covid. I was disappointed that the menu has changed. I miss my grits and scallops. We 5 came to have dinner and the consensus was that the appetizers and food was portioned too small and taste bland. The food lacked flavor. The lobster Mac & cheese tasted burned and bitter. Like a certain ingredient, like garlic was artificially substituted and didn’t taste well in there. They don’t allow substitutes for the sides either, even if you’re allergic to a side. The inside room is outdated and need an upgrade. Although, they were short staff, the staff and management were accommodating. Also, I guess they don’t sing happy birthday to the birthday girl anymore, cause they brought my mom cake w/ a candle and walked away. Oh well- we paid the bill and left, but was not happy with the experience at all. Not recommending this restaurant anymore. Use to be my top 3 places to go in Orlando for guaranteed great food and service.

   Service was great and our server was awesome. The food however was not on par at all with the price points. I’d always heard good things prior to my visit but upon dining discovered that the chef may have recently changed and the food is now reflecting the poor taste.

   Long story short, they place was fantastic. The food was flawless, the service was brilliant and nothing was out of place. If you want great seafood, this is the only place to go.

   I really expected much more. The Grouper was average at best. I have had better at lower level seafood establishments. Shrimp dish my son had was good, Salmon dish was dry. Calamari was good, crab cake was good. Veggies with the meal were awful. I will not be in a hurry to return. Our server was OUTSTANDING.

    We have been coming for years when in Orlando… sometimes twice during our stay and always been happy. But last night was a real disappointment….. felt is was overpriced and food was not as good. As far as service we saw our waiter when we first ordered…..did not get bread basket…. And once during our meal as he was passing…. We had no alcohol and no dessert and our bill for 2 people was $172.00 before tip…… I left hungry…. Sorry to say we won’t be coming back.

    First time eating here and we will be back for sure. Everything was delicious! I especially loved our oysters on the half shell-super fresh. Wish I had ordered more. Our server, Joe, was attentive and super friendly.

    Took my family and mom here for Mother’s Day dinner and was highly disappointed. I’ve visited in the past and loved the food and service but this time I was made aware that the Chef was replaced and items on the menu may be a little different. I did NOT enjoy my dinner at all and my family was not impressed. Yellowtail snapper with curry was overly cooked (dry)and sauce was too salty. Grouper was the same. I’m sad to say but this may be my last time here until the menu is changed and items are cooked differently.

    We have been dining at Big Fin for years. Our last time we dined at Big Fin was February 2019 before the pandemic. This restaurant has gone down hill since. Limited menu, very little selection, slow service, and rude managers. I fully am aware that their are food and staff shortages as well as inflation on everything. It took an extremely long time to receive our drinks from the bar, followed by appetizers and entrees. Our calamari was over fried and tough, my husbands mahi was supposed to come with cream spinach and it didn’t. When we mentioned it to other staff they turned a blind eye. My parents had a chilled seafood platter and one of the oysters was missing half its meat. My cooked lobster was on the chewier side. Women’s bathrooms were dirty and needed attention. I’m not one to ever leave bad reviews, but I feel it’s important for other long time customers to know how this orlando establishment has gone down hill. When I brought this up to the managers (large man in a pink suit and an older grey haired man) on duty they had nothing to say. I waited outside the restaurant as my husband and son were using the restroom and as my husband left the management was just laughing. They just lost long time customers. The $400 bill for a family of 7 did not reflect food quality and service.

    Our waiter showed up half hour after we were seated. Took 20 minutes to bring our wine. Both entrees we ordered were not (fish and lamb) available. He took another 30 minutes to bring appetizers. my daughter had to ask him to bring bread. Our main course came out 5 min after appetizers. He was very disorganized. Needless to say it was a disappointing Mother’s Day meal/outing with my family.

    I would have rated Big Fin five stars, but I rated them much lower primarily for their service. This is why… Big Fin Seafood Kitchen has a customer loyalty program, which is advertised outside the restaurant. I noticed the sign for the first time on Mother’s Day, while we were waiting for our car from the valet. I went back in the restaurant to inquire, and the hostesses did not know anything about the program. One left to find a manager. Another manager showed up at the hostess stand, and he claimed not to know how the program worked. When the first hostess returned, she said that the other manager said, “you have to get a membership card from your server who links it to your receipt.” Although we just had a meal there, a meal that cost well over $300, I was not even offered a loyalty program card from the hostesses or managers. I guess that I was expected to track down our busy server, while they just stood there. We were also turned off by the fact that our server did not mention the loyalty program or offer a membership card to us. My husband and I have eaten at Big Fin Seafood Kitchen multiple times on date nights and on special occasions with our family - spending thousands of dollars there. No server has ever mentioned their loyalty program. It leaves me to believe that Big Fin Seafood Kitchen is not interested in our repeat business, so we won’t be eating there again. Also, I tried to sign up for the loyalty program on Big Fin’s website, and you can only register with a card received from the restaurant or sign in to an established account. Not helpful, especially since the restaurant staff are not interested in promoting the loyalty program. Why have one? As for the food, it’s pretty good. This visit, we had their ribeye and strip steaks, salmon, crab cakes, cocktails, and desserts. But, I was immediately disappointed to find that their shrimp and grits is no longer on the menu, and I did not like the key lime pie - I rate it a 5 out of 10.

    Our server Joe was excellent! The food presentation was beautiful however for the price I felt it wasn’t the usual standard I expect. My mahi mahi tasted fishy and soggy. Maybe better to choose something different next time I dine. Joe and the wait staff did a great job so that part of the experience was fantastic!

    Worst Mother's Day lunch and experience ever. The food was bland, service was slow and we were only the 3rd table there. since COVID we realize help is hard to find but you don't put are C squad on Mother's Day. There was no music in the back ground or anything that made it feel special for Mother's Day at all. Honesty if I'm going to spend over $400 on lunch I'm looking for a wow. We drove by Eddie V's leaving and they were giving Mom's a flower and had a picture area as you walked in. I should had made the reservation there. As a mom I'm going to say I'm high disappointed in all of you.

    We generally enjoy Big Fin, we go for the fresh seafood, so it was very disappointing when our oysters came and did not look or tasted fresh. The mains were ok nothing to boast abt, rather forgetful. Service was ok. Overall it was mediocre to say the least.

    We requested a booth in our reservation and had to remind the hostess since we we not placed in a booth, the booth was dirty with crumbs and we told her, nobody cleaned it I cleaned it with my hands. Didn’t get greeted for over 5 mins. Joe came by super sweet, never got our bread after he said he will get us some. Apps were good, swordfish was the delicious but a little on salty side, steak and broccoli were extremely salty. Server “fixed” it by taking it away and brining it back washed off (still salty). Health code violation. Everything was lagging. We did receive our apps almost 45 mins after we were sat and entrees took a while. We didn’t see a manager. Although we did take care of our server, the service was the worst we ever had. This is the first and last visit.

    We had a reservation and were seated on time. The restaurant was not full. Our waiter, Joe was friendly but seemed to upsell us on everything especially the swordfish. There were 4 of us. We each ordered something different and one of us had the swordfish. We also had a 20%off discount card. We got the appetizers quickly but dinner took quite a while. Our waiter said there was an issue in the kitchen and our meal would be another 12 minutes but he said management would give us an additional discount. We finally got the dinners. The swordfish was dry and over cooked. Everything else was good. When the bill came, we only had a 10%discount and the waiter had lost our discount card. When questioned, he said it was late and to just deduct our dessert of $11 from his tip. We should have received another at least $30 discount on our card. It was late and we just deducted the $11 from his tip without speaking to the manager. The whole experience left us very disappointed.

    We ate at the bar and all of the bartenders were very friendly and attentive. My parents want to come again before we leave and that says a lot right there.

    We enjoyed our visit, it was our first time going and the food was good, for the price you get a fair amount. The menu is not as large as I typically prefer at a high and restaurant with seafood. They had the typical fish entrées. The lobster for $100 was not worth it in my opinion. I would definitely try something else if we were to go back. It had a very chlorine or chemical taste of some sort like cleaner a little bit. The scallops were absolutely unbelievable, by far the best I have ever had. I also loved the french fries and the lobster Mac and cheese was probably the best I have ever had with huge pieces of lobster.
