Black Angus Steakhouse - San Diego Friars Rd.
It took 45 minutes past our reservation to be seated it was my birthday was told when the check came that I couldn't use it
The food was reasonably priced and very delicious, and there was plenty to eat. The atmosphere was comfortable and pleasant. I'd certainly recommend this place to my friends.
Staff was very accommodating food is always good great portions. Great deal on drinks for happy hour!
I don't know of the waiting staff has too many people to take care of. But the service is usually pretty slow. And I feel like the waiting staff always seem to be joggling a ton of people. But we enjoyed our dinner.
We went there for Veteran's Day and had a reservation but there was still a wait time for the Veteran's Day $9.99 meal so we sat in the bar area and almost immediately served. The wait staff was attentive despite the crowd and the food served up hot and with a short wait time. We'll be back!
Monica was the best waitress. Her service was outstanding!
Sorry...food was poor. Chicken prep dry and steaks mediocre. Definitely not close to expectations. Staff and server were nice.
after taking our order it took a long time to get our food. the waitress only came by once to offer water/drink refills. We had to ask for our desserts. We felt we were basically ignored through out most of the time we were there.
Black Angus on Friars Road restaruant has been a stable restaurant in the community. Proving excellent ambiance and services and good food at very good prices. A place where you can celebrate occassions, bring the family or a date. I disapprove of the plan to replace the restaurant with an In-Out Burger joint.
Excellent food as always ... and the DAOU was amazing !!!
Great service/servers, and awesome food! We've dine at this location serveral times. Always great food and service!
We have been going to Black Angus since they opened and this was the worst experience we've ever had. It seems they have "short timers" attitude since their lease is up and they will be closing in a year. John: ordered au gratin potatoes, got loaded baked potato. Server did correct. Jim: ordered deep fried shrimp, got grilled. Ardene: ordered small cut of prime rib, got a sorry fatty gristly piece of meat. Jim; ordered regular Pepsi got a refill of diet. Bill came with full charge for wagon wheel appetieser. Jim and Ardene had Campfire Feast, should have been $3 upgrade. A good thing I checked the bill. Lots of apologies but still a very poor performance on the part of Black Angus.
This is the third time that we have visited Black Angus on Friars Rd. The food and service couldn't be any better. Our server, Coco was always available and interested in the quality of our meal especially if our steaks were cooked to our satisfaction and any other concerns we may have had. We had the triple play and enjoyed our filet mignon, fried shrimp, and perfectly cooked lobster tail all at a great price (we had a coupon). We were very impressed!
Sorry to hear it's closing since my wife and I have been customers for over 30 years!
We often go to your restaurant and always enjoy it. The service is always excellent and the food is absolutely the best. Don't close.
Apparently a lot of people had gotten. reservations for 6:00 that night and all showed up at the same time. We waited and waited to be seated and finally went to the bar area and got seats and got served right away. Maybe they shouldn't have seated the walk-ins before that so those of us who actually had timed reservations could be seated within a few minutes of our time.
Very friendly from the time you walk in. Reservations are suggested, otherwise wait time might be long at height of the evening time. Comfortable and private seating throughout. Servers are very polite and outgoing. I enjoyed my meal and so did my family as well. Food quality and quantity equaled if not better than higher end steakhouses. Good Job Management and Staff!
Always enjoy our meals at Balck Angus on Friars Road. Food is great, well presented and worth the money. It is quiet so we can hear the conversation at the table. I hope you are able to keep the restaurant at this location.
Great food and friendly service. The booths in the dining area provide a sense of quiet and privacy.
First time coming and the food was absolutely amazing, I do recommend eating here and I will come back
I love Black Angus! their steaks are always juicy and tender, lots of flavor.
Excellent customer service , good food and lengthy menu to choose from
Ordered my meal to be prepared well done and it came out rare. The wait staff corrected it after about 20 minutes and after the rest of our party had finished. I was handed a full price bill for a meal I did not eat, at a mostly empty table, the meal was not boxed to go. I said thank you to the waitress and she did not make eye contact or acknowledge my statement.
Been going to Black Angus since it opened. Always enjoy the meal. Sorry to hear it will be closing down at this location if lease is not renewed. Do not care for the El Cajon location because of the wide open design. It looks like a mess hall and usually has a couple of screaming kids. What is so nice about the old design is the quiet and privacy. If the kids make noise you can barely hear them. If something works don't change it. The old saying is "if it ain't broke don't fix it"!
Always great food and service. Laura is the best!
We are very saddened to hear that this Black Angus may close at the end of the year. I hope that this Black Angus will stay because the community will and has supported this establishment for such a long time. I love the food and service.
Very good value for money restaurant.
Everyone was pleased with their dinner.
While the food & wine was good, the overall poor service overshadowed the experience. Upon arrival ~10 min prior to my 7:15 reservation I was informed by the manager that due to the wait list they were pushing my reservation back. At first he did not know how long they were changing my reservation for, but when pressed he estimated 20min. The staff failed to meet that estimate and we were seated 35min late. We were met by the waiter relatively quickly, who then disappeared for almost 15min before returning to take our drink order. Wait for drinks was almost another 10min and one was wrong. I strongly doubt that I would ever dine at this location again.
I have had your coleslaw twice now and found it bland and uninteresting.
Prices have gone up but there can still be some good deals with some of the newspaper or club coupons offered by Black Angus. Although it's a bit extra, the Caesar Salad is always delicious choice. Very, very disappointed that the fried onion rings have been removed as a menu option except if you order the burger, where only two are included on the burger. The onion rings were one of my favorite menu items and one that specifically made me chose Black Angus as a lunch and dinner destination.
Service was great food was awesome, great location
We enjoyed our dinner. Our waitress was very attentive and friendly. Our food was delivered timely and was delicious.
Always good food and prices are great. Even with having a reservation we had to wait 20 minutes to be seated
One of the best evenings out I’ve had in a long time the server was fantastic made it so enjoyable thank you black Angus
We decided to go to Black Angus for a steak dinner unfortunately my Mom's steak was so chewy that she barely ate much of it. I was hoping she would of had a great dinner as it's one of her first outing since being diagnosed with Ovarian cancer so I was very disappointed. Our waitress was pleasant but it took her forever to bring our bread we had to ask her for it. We use to go to your restaurant regularly but I'm not sure we want to try it again.
Very well kept up nice staff only issue I would address is that the server be more attentive to the tables
Black Angus is always a safe place to go. The meats are always high quality and well prepared with a good assortment of side dishes. A very comfortable place to eat.
As always a great service. The service was good, the food was delicious, and drinks were great! No complaints from my experience.
Black Angus (at least the one I frequent) has a group of employees that literally go out of the way to make sure you are taken care of; have everything you need. Some restaurants let your glass empty before they even ask you to refill. If you have one of their unlimited beverages, they will refill it frequently (you never run out). If you have a drink, then they will ask you before you have finished if you would like another. Overall, the waitresses have bee excellent on every visit.
