   Bleu is a restaurant with a French name but the food has a definite Asian influence using primarily vegetables, seasonings and sauces that are Asian. The food is good and the service reasonable though not especially attentive. Tables are close so the noise level is high. While certainly worth a visit, I wouldn’t recommend it for an intimate romantic dinner.

   I have never had a bad experience at Bleu, in fact it is my business go to location. The food, service and atmosphere are always top notch and consistent. In their defense it was Wake Forest graduation, however, other guests are just as important. First, the floors were so super slick the 4 of us almost went down, trying to go to the restroom. Then we felt rushed the entire time we were there but toward the end of our lunch, we were extremely rushed and had our table pushed while my friend was still sitting in her seat trying to get up fast enough but couldn't and was pinned between the table and sitting in her chair. The chair leg was caught in the groove of the floor tile, she was embarrassed. When the table was shoved my other friend at the table had something sharp connected to the underside of the table cut her leg. The entire time we were trying to move so he could move our table over to make room to expand the neighboring table for a large party. Moving our table was understandable, unable to wait for us to get up and out of the way was not. We felt like we should have just been told to leave since they needed our space. It really put a damper ending to a really nice get together for a friend who unexpectedly had to leave her job to care for aging parents. I know people have bad days or stress loads to make everything go smooth, but this was just not right.

   We had a lovely Mother’s Day dinner here. Food was excellent, especially the cinnamon roll bread pudding! Service was excellent. Would definitely recommend.

   Surprised my wife with a Mother’s Day dinner…Restaurant is lovely service is lovely but there was no mention of a pre-fixed menu when literally all I wanted was a steak and a side of French fries….ordered the smoked wings as an entree and although my wife was very pleased with her meal (scallops)…those were..by far…the worst order of wings I’ve ever had…they were hard fried…if you smoked them I certainly couldn’t tell..and still had feather strings on most of them…my order being such a small part of the bill and my wife being so pleased, I chose not to complain….But man that entire experience for me was incredibly disappointing..Unfortunately I won’t be coming back..

   We eat here frequently. The reason why? The food and service is always fantastic. The menu is full creative dishes and extremely good steaks. We’ve gotten to know some of the staff through the years and it just feels like family every time we go.

    I’m sure people come on here and say what I am about to say. But in my case it is true o am ACF certified. I found the diver scallop and risotto dish to be extremely underwhelming. The whole dish tastes only of truffle. Don’t get me wrong I love truffles, but to have such nice ingredients such as the corn, scallops and shrimp be masked with that is in my opinion doing it an injustice. When I cut into the scallops they were over cooked and bland other than the truffle taste, same as the risotto. I also ordered the Brie cheese starter. The apple jam was good confit garlic should come to the table warm and well as the Brie as it was not even like warm. The dish that was the best was the dish my wife ordered which was the goat cheese and chicken entree. That dish was put together very nicely. I suggest give the risotto some more care and let the scallops speak.

    My wife and I went early on a Sunday evening. The dining room was fairly empty and quiet, and the background music was entertaining. The service was attentive but not obtrusive. We both enjoyed the food tremendously and plan to go back to explore their menu in depth.

    We usually have a very good experience at Bleu and have dined there multiple times. We were seated this time closer to the bar and the service was definitely not as good as it usually is. Everything came out at the same time, salads, soup and entrees. The server seemed to not be happy.

    Our anniversary dinner was great. The service was outstanding. The only reason I gave it a moderate noise level is because a rude lady was talking on a video call at th table next to us. She was accompanied by 2 people at her table, but still talked in a loud voice with everyone hearing both conversations, (in a foreign language). Not the restaurants' fault. We were at the end of our meal, so we didn't complain. We love this restaurant, and will definitely go back again. We've been many times in the past.

    The food was not very good at all. I has crumb seafood meal with collard greens. The best part were the oysters and crab cake. The shirmp and flounder appeared to be double fried so the breading fell off immediately when cutting into it. The collards were fair but had a crock pot taste to them. My friend had shrimp and grits with barely any grits. It was similar to a snow dusting. Just enough to coat the bottom of bowl. Alcoholic beverages were ok. Beautiful ambiance and nice staff. Not worth the price. Will not be returning.

    Bleu is a pleasure. The food and service are always exceptional. They have the best okra anywhere, and their grits and collards are exceptional. They don't promote themselves as Southern cuisine, but the Southern staples they offer are the best in town. If you go for lunch, try the meatloaf. I want that recipe!! A definite favorite.

    We started with the crab dip, which came out promptly but had a very strong fishy flavor, so much so we had to send it back. For entree’s we had the ribeye with Pom frites and the scallops with a shrimp risotto. The ribeye was ok but over cooked. It came with a brown butter sauce that was more of a burnt A1 steak sauce and the Pom frites were so covered in garlic butter they were soggy and extremely overpowering. When our waitress asked to replace them she suggested the mashed potatoes which when they arrived were just a tasteless mush. The worst part was when she cleared the table and they were mostly untouched she offered them to the rest of the table because, as she said “it’s such a shame to waste food”! The scollops the one bright spot to the evening cooked perfectly and the shrimp risotto was an excellent pairing. After all of this when offered dessert we were a bit shy to gamble on trying one. Overall compared to the other 3 restaurants with the same ownership this was by and far our worst experience. With the cost of the dishes and the overall experience we will not be going back.
