We spent a very nice anniversary dinner, enjoying the flavour of the food and the excellent service as per the usual. The only regret is not being in a restaurant full of people because of obvious reasons. Looking forward to the return to normality. We truly miss it.
Thank you for being there for us!
We had a lovely fireside lunch on the patio which was unusually quiet. I attribute the quiet to the fact that there were few diners which added to the feeling that we were dining in a safe environment as we were certainly well spaced from one another. Conversation was easy, our server was efficient, professional and friendly, and the menu, though much shorter than in pre-Covid times, offered a good selection from which to chose. We were a party of four and each enjoyed our entrees.
Spacious with good food. The service was good and took good care of our special occasion that I appreciate a lot.
My family and I had a very pleasant experience there. It was my wife’s birthday and our waitress was outstanding helping celebrate her birthday and also get rid of a nasty headache by having a pepper mint tea.
The meal was fantastic, and was cooked to perfection.
Was such a great dinner with friends. They have the seating very spaced out so we felt very comfortable with social distancing. The service was great, friendly and professional as always and the food was fantastic. So glad we went there instead of the more crowded restaurants.
We had a great date night. Our dinners were absolutely delicious. We had the tuna and the seafood mixed grill which I would definitely order again. Everything else was great, except for dessert. Which was super disappointing. We got the mocha ice cream pie which was full of ice crystals and terrible. The ice cream had no flavour and was either super old or not stored properly. We also had the creme brûlée which was overly thick and fake tasting. For the quality of the dinner I would at least expect the quality of the desserts to match. Was very disappointed that these are obviously bought from a larger scale food manufacturer and no attention is paid to your final memory of your meal and experience.
We always go there for our anniversary. Great place to celebrate.
Continually asking guests if they’re done with that’ and/or if they can ‘clear that plate’ or ‘if there is anything else you want etc. “ makes guests feel rushed. I encourage your staff to find a balance and if it’s repeatedly clear that the table is engaged in conversation, then perhaps that’s a sign to just let them be. If a table is fully engaged in conversation over and over and they need something, I’m sure they’ll let you know.
First time visiting the Boathouse and was not disappointed. Food and drinks were amazing. The view was spectacular. We ordered the king crab legs surf and turf and the seafood pasta. Was a great experience. Would recommend.
We have visited this location in the past and were much happier with the experience. I know covid has affected everything, but we were underwhelmed. My seafood pasta was marred by bland sauce and charred shrimp tails that were mixed into the dish. I am extremely sensitive to the taste of charring, and bitterness, so this pretty much ruined the dish for me. Most people probably would find it acceptable. My wife 'damned with faint praise' the eggs Benedict that she had. Good, but not to the level of other comparable restaurants. Our margaritas were decent and generous servings, but again, for the prices and past experience, we had expected at least very good if not excellent. I hope they come back to their previous outstanding levels of dining.
Excellent venue during these Covid times. The server was excellent. We were able to forget we were in a pandemic for a couple of hours. Thank you!
The Port Moody Boathouse is the best of the chain. Free parking, great view, not too large like some of them, and beautiful in any weather. The food was great and the staff were very accommodating.
Perfect view, great service from Server and Manager. Made our Thanksgiving dinner perfect.
Great Thanksgiving Dinner there!
My family of six went to The Boathouse in Port Moody for a Thanksgiving dinner. For $30 pp the (rolled) turkey was dry and the gravy was pale and tasteless. The best thing on the plate were the vegetables. Bread for $8 and a miserly piece of pumpkin pie were add-ons. A small salad to start would have been nice. As well, the minimum number of servers were run off their feet without busboys to assist therefore, the service was poor. Despite this, we left a generous tip. We will not be returning to The Boathouse.
One of my favorite place. Thanksgiving menu was sub par, service was great as always
We were at Boathouse for couple birthdays on the eve of Thanksgiving. This was our first time trying Thanksgiving at Boathouse. It was quite disappointing I must say. For $30 a plate, I was expecting some feel good holiday meal. Portions were small and except for mashed potatoes everything was lukewarm. I like Boathouse restaurant a lot however this time they missed the mark when it came to Thanksgiving dinner.
Good server, great view. Turkey dinner was average.
The restaurant was very accommodating when we wanted to switch tables. There was enough space between tables to not have to worry about social distancing, the washrooms were well managed and most of what we ordered was great!
The brunch was so good! Ingredients are fresh and incredibly tasty! Highly recommend the traditional eggs Benny!
Celebrating a birthday and retirement!
Arturo was delightful, knowledgeable and clearly dedicated to assuring we had a good experience. We have come to rely on the Boathouse for great meals. Reliable, high quality, served hot, with a great atmosphere. Really never fails. Whomever does the hiring seems to know that they are doing. We have been many times and will be back again and again!
I always love going to boathouse. One of my favourite restaurants. I was raving about the seafood chowder to my son but was disappointed when we got it. It wasn’t “hot”. Only lukewarm. My husbands pasta was also lukewarm. Not sure if food was plated and got delivered late or what was happening. Also not sure why the bread was not provided. Always love the bread with the garlic butter. Could be due to COVID and they are having the reduced menu so that has been eliminated. Really missed it though. I wanted the evening to be very special since it was my sons 30th birthday. I was disappointed it didn’t measure up to past visits.
Great experience with a wonderful view. I recommend this place to everyone.
Used to go here all the time; stopped after new ownership because quality declined. Thought I’d give it another shot. Dining room looks tired. Service was slow; Server was inattentive & unorganized & seemed frazzled despite there being less than 10 tables occupied in the entire dining area.
Half dozen oyster order came out with 5 oysters; the portions were small; the creme brûlée was cold.
The dinner took over 2.5 hrs - lots of time to place orders. Just an off experience in general. Server could have buffered the awkwardness but she just seemed overwhelmed & just not liking her job. Won’t be back.
Friday night wasn’t that busy and the steak and prawns were fantastic. They keep altering the prices on drinks and desserts. It’s costly if you want the “full meal deal”. If your going out for the evening you want to enjoy it without breaking the bank. Gosh, $4.00 for a cup of coffee, what’s that?
The service took so long from the initial drink order to the food to the bill. Apparently Happy Hour ended the day before sooo we split three appies and had three drinks and the bill came to $79.00. I’ll stick to Browns, Cactus or Earls from now on.
Due to COVID the restaurant was not busy - however, the service was friendly and very efficient. We enjoyed the food as always.
We did have to wait 15 minutes to get a table, even though we had a reservation. Staff was very nice, but we didn’t see them often— understandable though because they were short on staff which they were transparent about. Food was good! My parents enjoyed their dishes (one had steak and stuffed shrimp, and the ahi tuna). I was a little disappointed with my mixed seafood grill. Still good, but mostly had salmon and barely had any shrimp or scallops. Overall, not a bad experience.
We came there for my sons 14th birthday and the service was not great. The restaurant was basically empty and our server was always hard to find. The food was terrible, one of our orders was wrong and the price was very expensive.
We have been there a few times and it is always terrible.
We will not be back
Food was great. But service was awful.
We were surprised that we were never offered the fresh rolls. We have been coming here for our night outs for many years and usually are always offers fresh rolls when waiting for dinner. Not this time not sure why.
Always good service and the waitress remembered us from previous times. Very pleasant
Beautiful view, clean restaurant, polite staff, only thing is the food portion is on the smaller side for the price.
We felt like it was a cafeteria setting. Not one of our best times there.
Brunch was delicious, aside from the hair on one of the plates. View is spectacular!
Enjoyed it, quiet, everyone was accommodating for our special needs son, he was happy. Food was great. Perfect evening. Thank you
It was a really terrible experience.
The service was very poor, my shrimp cocktail was warm. My husbands oysters were brought out without lemon, hot sauce, horse radish.
The server was rude and seemed to be more interested in every other table than ours. We felt like we were discriminated against because of our age or our tattoos.
We were not given water or refills on our drinks etc.
Terrible experience I’m very disappointed
Wish they have grilled salmon on the menu as this should be a seafood restaurant. Steak is a little bit pricey compare to other similar type of restaurant. Other than that, nice ambience and comfortable for family dining.
