Border Grill – Mandalay Bay
Great food, small plates good for getting a taste of everything and then getting seconds of the ones you like.good service
Family vacation looking for a higher end Mexican meal. The food was excellent, the portions more than adequate and the staff exceptional. I will return next trip to Vegas.
Updating my last review... We returned to Border Grill today for the AYCE brunch. This particular occasion was for a 10th Anniversary celebration.
First, let me say our server was absolutely delightful. She was knowledgeable, attentive, and made sure that our meal went smoothly. To the management; thank you! Thank you for making our meal a wonderful experience again, and for providing us with impeccable wait staff. Our server was amazing, and the service was top-notch (and please give our server a raise!).
We ordered just about everything on the menu (party of 5 with a baby) and the food was absolutely delicious. I especially appreciated the drunken Peruvian toast, the chilequiles, and the campechana. The kids loved the shrimp and grits, the empanadas, and even the baby loved the chips and guac.
Once again, our meal was fabulous and the service was some of the best I have experienced in Las Vegas, which says a lot. So thank you, Border Grill, for exceeding my expectations and ensuring that I return as a repeat customer.
The weekend brunch was an amazing experience and well worth the price for the quality of the food.
This place was wonderful! It was so good that we went back twice - - lunch, appetizers and dinner. The cocktail menu is varied and really delicious. The chips and three salsas they bring are delicious and plenty. The short rib enchiladas were outstanding with a rich sauce. The La planche seafood was actually grilled and came as three tacos - - way more than enough food. We also had the carnitas tacos which honestly were the most tender and flavorful we had ever tasted. The wait staff was super friendly and responsive. We never felt rushed but there was always someone checking on us.
In Vegas there can be so much noise and rip off food. This place was fun but laid out well to control the sound level. The food was a great value - - we had leftovers each time and will have to go back to sample desserts as we were always full before then!
Would definitely go back even if we were staying in another hotel!
Will be back! The shrimp and grits and steak and eggs are to die for! Loved the salsas, sauces and delicious guava empanada. Mmmmm. Craving it already and a great deal. Get the Micheladas!!
We ate here after seeing the MJ Cirque show, so it was 9pm. Service was great, chips were hot salsa rocked. 2 of us had great entrees. My niece and I had the shrimp tacos and they weren’t good (I’ve had them on earlier occasions and they were very good). We told our server and they were removed from the bill which we appreciate because we didn’t eat them.
The pork was tender, plaintains sweet and avo and tortillas fresh. Deliscious meal
Went with my daughter for a birthday meal. Delicious Mexican food- not your average tacos & enchiladas. More authentic Mexican food than what you would get in a normal chain restaurant
Must get the Blood Orange Margarita! It was to die for!! Also get the salted warm chocolate chip cookies & homemade ice cream- which is plenty to share. Also to die for!
Servers were attentive without being overbearing
A wonderful dinner all around
We were in Las Vegas to celebrate our anniversary. We made sure to do the Sunday Brunch at Border Grill. As in the past, we weren’t disappointed. We enhanced our brunch with the bottomless mimosas. They give you 4-different purées of juices (Orange, blood orange, peach, and prickly pear). I’d say our favorite was the prickly pear. Brunch is served tapas style. They give you a menu, and you order what you like. We order about 4 to 5 dishes at a time. We ordered just about everything they had to offer, and all was fantastic, but the favorite would have to be the churros tots, served with a raspberry sauce. However, all were wonderful, we’ll definitely be back.
I love Mandalay Bay and have my annual bday brunch here at border grill every year; however I was a bit disappointed this year because I was coming early to put down table decorations and had spoken with the catering/event person and she offered to put a black table cloth down on the table and I had even called the morning of to confirm but when I arrived, there was not a table Cloth down so the staff had to remove all of the place settings from the table and put one down. The second thing that happened was that the hostess stand told a couple of my arriving guests that no one from my party had arrived yet. I had a guess text me at 12:40 saying she was told she was the only one there and she could wait at the bar when in fact me And one of my guests had arrived at 12:05p to set up for the 12:30 brunch.
Great service and good food. Not enough choices in the main courses. Rather expensive for the serving sizes.
Border Grill is top notch. The margaritas were on point, the ceviche was amazing and our entrees were killer.
Marlin, our waiter, took good care of us and was attentive.
Always a destination for brunch when I'm entertaining friends from out of town! All-you-can-eat-small-plates is always the way to go!
Got the steak tacos and half the cubed meat was nothing but FAT. Salsa and chips were also too salty.
Great food. We sat at the bar. Service was pretty good. I thought it was odd he didn’t know anything about what was going on at Mandalay Bay. We asked about the Pac12 basketball tournament. He knew nothing about it and had no idea it was even happening there. The bartender should know what’s happening!!
Excellent unique healthy and fresh!! Will visit every time in Vegas now. Ample seating, reservations still helped. Service was slow. Waited forever at the end for the check as well.
Great fresh food. Loved our group dining in the outside area. Guacamole was excellent. Had the chicken enchiladas, rice and beans. Great atmosphere and service
Had the Yucatán Pork and Peking Duck Carnitas. Both were dishes my wife and I have never tasted and really enjoyed them both.
Excellent service. The food is reasonably priced and was very good. We sat overlooking the lazy river. We will stop in here again on our next trip in a few months.
Not sure about the food. One member of our party did end up in the emergency room with some sort of reaction about 2 hours after our lunch
Visited while at large convention. With app skipped large lines. Nice patio and outdoor area. Food fresh and unique. Salsas very mild but flavorful. Lovers of hot spicy will be disappointed in heat level but not flavor.
Great food! Lots of vegetarian options, and solid vegan choices. We sat outside, which was much quieter than inside. It was a beautiful night, so a great experience overall.
Great!! Server was wonderful.
Great food even better service. Great for weekend brunch
I was attending a conference at Mandalay Bay Hotel and made reservations for Sunday Brunch. We had a little trouble finding the place but got there by our 10 AM time. Very nice wait person explained the menu (unlimited small plates plus cost of beverages). We ordered 3 to begin, 4 next and a final 3 to finish. All good but a few needed heat/spices. Liked the shrimp and grits and Chef’s Secret pancakes. Avocado Toast very small and bland.
We had a cocktail each-both very good. Anywhere else this would be over priced but it’s Vegas so pretty average bill. Super friendly, efficient staff but environment a bit noisy once full.
Servers are not supported by the food delivery people. First gucamole app delivered and asked for more chips and sauce. Fell to deaf ears and nothing brought. Next entree was brought and asked the food delivery person for extra plates for sharing. Agin ignored. And what is up charging 50 cents a glass of tap water. Downstairs inside bar being used as a buss station to roll silverware. I blame the Mgt. Let’s get some training done. Could be why this restaurant is the last to fill and get a reservation.
