We love going to Bowman's Tavern. We enjoy the music in the bar area and when I request that type of seating, they have always been able to honor it for me. They really are the best. The cocktails they make are great...can't have just one! And the food never disappoints. The only thing we were disappointed with last weekend, was the music that they had was not what was on their website. However, under the circumstances of COVID-19, that was to be expected. We are just glad we made it in there for the great corned beef and cabbage and having what has turned out to be our last night out before sticking to ourselves in our home. Great place
Excellent food and service
Menu is very broad, something for everyone.
Music is excellent at just the right volume
Great food and service. Highly recommended
We love Bowman’s Tavern!
Hot Roasr Beef sandwich once of best ever tasted. Philly steak was pretty good as well. Pear drop vodka drink and old fashioned drinks delicious.
Every visit brings excellence, no matter whom I bring, nor what we order. Excellence in taste, but also in presentation. The artfulness of servings at Bowman's delight every guest. I would go so far as to insist that the quality of your service, especially Jennifer and Michelle, equals the cuisine. I can trust Bowman's Tavern, whether for a celebration or a consolation or a professional interaction. Carolyn Foote Edelmann
Always the best!!!! If you’re reading this review, don’t hesitate to visit the tavern. Great food, entertainment and ambience. Valet parking a plus.
Food preparation has deteriorated!!!! It’s a shame because I love the ambiance. You need a new chef !
We had a wonderful dinner at Bowman's Tavern. The pear sangria was delicious. The meatloaf was the best I have ever had. We enjoyed live music while we dined. We even went for desert and the bread pudding was a treat!
Bowman’s Tavern is the best! Everything about it is great! Go once and you’ll be hooked!
A close friend of our was performing the night we went to Bowman’s Tavern. It was busy but the waiter did a wonderful job of taking care of us with our drinks and food. The food was very good, especially the garlic and lemon hummus. My husband and our friends enjoyed their meals as well. We all want to go back soon.
Food was very good. Ticket times were slow and we were there a lot longer than anticipated. Server was solid but was at the mercy of the kitchen. We also had an early dinner at 5 and didn’t think it would be that busy.
Food was excellent. Server was friendly and provided good service.
Good food and drinks are to be found at this nice Central Bucks County watering hole. Though the real star of the show is their wonderful piano lounge, with live music on many fine evenings .
We had a reservation for my husband’s birthday. I was surprised on how busy it was for a weekday, although it had plenty of room for more people. It was my first time having dinner at this restaurant and I absolutely love it. The ambiance, live music, all kinds of people, efficient service and delicious food.
I thought it was slightly pricy but if that’s the experience I’ll get for the money we spent, I’m more than happy to return!
Very nice place. Great food, excellent service. Not sure I understand the valet parking. Plenty of space for traditional parking right next to the restaurant.
Our first time in New Hope and loved this place.
Had the whipped ricotta with honey was absolutely delicious. My wife had the fish and chips and I had the meatloaf. Both were great dishes. I am not a fan of meatloaf but this was the best I have had.
This restaurant is must to go to in New Hope.
Make sure to make reservations or you will be waiting.
They also have music but only in one area of the restaurant.
Great for special occasions. The new corn bread appetizer is amazing. Try it.
Bowman’s is ALWAYS awesome! Consistently great food, but what really makes it is the service- always amazing! We love Michelle and Danni; Maggie is great at front of the house; and just love David in valet. Can’t really go wrong here- prime rib night wednesdays; perfectly cooked scallops and salmon; great salads with homemade dressings; pork chop; Mac and cheese- too many great foods to name them all (but, please bring back the banana chocolate chip bread pudding; blackberry cobbler; and Brussels sprouts). And, while food and service are top notch, don’t forget about the live music every night!
Valentines Dinner and it was excellent 😁
Food was good. Service was very nice. Temperature inside was too cold. The woman across from us ate with her coat on. Really not acceptable. Plus it was 1:00 in the afternoon, ample time for the heat to come up.
Five of us went for prime rib Wednesday which is a great deal! We went early (consider that we’re all over 65). The place was packed! Our reservation was for 6 pm! There’s live music every night which is great. The musicians played music suited to us baby boomers so we loved it. However, it was too loud for us to comfortably converse. Maybe start the music at eight o’clock for the younger dinners and ears? All the food was delicious. Calamari appetizer was especially yummy.
We will definitely go back but maybe even earlier!
Bowman’s Tavern is a modernized old style roadhouse, halfway between New Hope and Washington Crossing on River Road.
We’ve been there recently for two meals, a lunch and a supper.
Both times we were greeted warmly and seated in a nice booth.
For lunch we started with fried Virginia oysters breaded with fine cornmeal. They were perfectly cooked and delicious. Then, some staples: a pulled pork sandwich and fish flavorful and hot. Lunch was *!
Supper was a bit of a disappointment. My salmon was excellent, but it sat on a bed of unidentifiable veggies in a pork broth (!) with ham somewhere in the mix. Something simpler would allow the salmon to shine better. I had a roasted rutabaga side that had so many apples in it that they were all I could taste. My wife chose the scallops, which were tasty, but insufficiently crusted (pan too cool?). On the plate was celery root ‘grits’ which, sadly had too much maple syrup in the mix. Supper was ***.
My call: go for lunch, which they do very well. Supper is more of a crap shoot, tho the fried oysters are great.
Bowman’s Tavern offers music seven days a week
Always a great time!
Beth is a superb server.
I've written this review before. Everything about the restaurant is good. The parking lot is essentially unpaved so when the valet brings the car the area in front of the driver's seat is muddy, dirty or very wet depending on the weather. There are a number of fixes the restaurant could do but choose not to do. If a car dealer can solve this problem I think an upscale restaurant can also.
Consistent food. The service was very good, and most of the food was very good. I will continue going back, but this was more uneven than our past visits.
My husband and I stopped in for a light dinner (wings and sandwiches) on Saturday night. Luckily we made a reservation because they're needed. The food was very good, service was outstanding, and the entertainment was delightful. Perfect Saturday night!
Excellent food service consistently from 1 week to the next always
Love this place! Everything I have had is delicious. Food, drinks, dessert and service are outstanding!
The food was burnt. They need to pay attention on the kitchen.
Had booked wrong night by mistake. They found a table and made the evening perfect.
Fabulous atmosphere particularly in winter time. Very cozy and exactly what I want a tavern to be. Great service from our server, Michelle. Varied menu and good portions. I think $7 for a side of French fries is a bit expensive.
Bowman's tavern has separate bar and eating areas. Bar can be relatively loud at times but dining area was much more moderate. Good selection of bar food but somewhat limited but very good dinner entrees. Service was prompt and servers were friendly and helpful. This place is good for almost anybody for almost any occasion. I'm sure I'll be back.
A favorite for weekly date night. Great food selections well prepared, nice live music, friendly service.
Overall a great value
We loved the food, service.
Lovely gem of a restaurant in the countryside, close to New Hope, but not in the craziness. Ample free parking, friendly staff and excellent food. This is definitely one we’ll come back to.
I had the French Onion Soup and the Bowman’s Burger, both excellent, and my friend had the fresh chili and a Caesar salad, both very generous portions.
The ambiance is old country pub, dark and cozy. Reminded me of rural England.
Good food and drinks are to be found at this nice Central Bucks County venue. The real star of the show is their great piano lounge. We do wish that they would run it a bit later into the evenings .
