Bridgetown Mill House
Very delicious food and service was very good!!!
Great service, excellent food. Much too expensive for routine dining.
Wonderful Valentine’s Day date
Valentines Dinner with Family
This used to be one of our favorite dining spots however we miss the live music in the dining room and also just the piped in music while having drinks in the bar area. Ambience needs improvement in the bar area by lighting the candles and fire.. Couches need updating. Ordered the delicious large size spinach salad which was half of what we normally get. Entrees were good but nothing extra special. Just not feeling the vibe anymore :(
Arrived for a Friday night dinner to an empty parking lot. Not a good sign. One table was seated before us at 7:30. One arrived after. No one else. The inn is quite beautiful, which we could see because the lights were way too bright. The large fireplace which was the draw that got us to try this restaurant was not being used. Nancy, who seemed to run the dining room, was the evening’s highlight. So friendly. The food was “wedding food” by which I mean that it looked better than it tasted. That said the flourless chocolate cake was delicious. Seems like a nice place if you’re attending a wedding there but we won’t be going back for dinner.
Our first time at this restaurant. Excellent service throughout the meal except a minor flaw when dessert was served. The waitress did not ask if we wanted coffee, tea or any other beverages. However, at this time, the restaurant was full and the staff work as a team so perhaps she thought one of the other staff had asked us. Food (all course) was excellent!!! Minor changes that would be good-- to include an English Breakfast or black tea (other than Earl Grey) in the tea box. With so many diverse flavors during the meal, a fruit flavored or other herbal tea was not what I was personally looking for, especially to go with the delicious chocolate cake. The only other comment is I would have preferred a jasmine or basmati rice with the Salmon entree. The soy flavored rice that was served, while tasty and included with red and green peppers, competed with the sauce on the salmon due to the soy flavor in the rice. But again, this is just a personal preference of mine. Overall it was our first time ever eating out on Christmas. I'm glad we chose to dine at Bridgetown Mill House. Oh, and we were seated right where I was hoping to be seated without even having asked! A great experience.
Good service but the food leaves much to be desired
For many years the Bridgetown Mil House had an an excellent reputation as a "special occasion" restaurant, with superior food and service in a charming setting, with prices to match. A couple years ago the place acquired new owners and management, and they now seen to be resting on their laurels. The dining rooms are still charming and the service is still fine, but the quality of the cuisine has slipped. The prices, however, have not slipped. I am optimistic that the new owners will bring Bridgetown Mill House back to the level of excellence it had achieved formerly.
Needs a little more polish but a nice place and we are going to try again on an upcoming weekend
Well- having been “around” and to more expensive venues- this was a magnificent treat.
I shall be back!
We have dined here on several occasions and we are never disappointed. The restaurant is in a beautifully restored historical building. The outside doesn’t do the food or ambience inside justice. The dining rooms are lovely and the food is delicious. There are numerous appetizers and soups and salads. We have had the mushroom soup and the soup of the day rotates. Tonight’s butternut squash soup was mostly squash with just a bit of cream drizzled in it. Just right. The salmon was perfectly done, not overcooked but not rare either. I have gotten the Chilean sea bass twice and I may have it the next time too. I do substitute rice for the mashed potatoes and it is a favorite meal. You deserve to give this restaurant a try. I do hope they put some more lights outside since it is easy to go by it without seeing it but once you are inside, I am sure you will enjoy it.
Thanksgiving dinner was wonderful! We had a lovely dinner and a nice evening! The room was lovely and quiet for our large party!
Although I was skeptical of not preparing a meal at home, we had a wonderful Thanksgiving meal at the Bridgeton Mill House. Great food and great atmosphere!
Thanksgivings dinner .. Amazing! Great food , great service . Excellent bartender (Nancy). But ......... a 20% “service fee” added to bill????? That’s a first for me with a party of only 2. And should be mentioned beforehand. Sadly for that reason and that reason only, will most likely not go back :(
A really nice place to take someone for a special occasion. It is a first class restaurant in every way. It was our first visit but it won't be the last.
Sat for an hour and a half waiting for our food until we decided to just leave. Was only one other table at the time, and one medium to large group inside. Very disappointed was (supposed to be) our 5th anniversary dinner. Atmosphere was nice & the place is adorable, what a shame
We always enjoy our time at this restaurant. It’s so hard to understand but the place was empty. We were the only table on The Friday of July 4th weekend. There were 6 of us and everyone enjoyed his/her meal.
It was a very pleasant experience. Only downfall was the dessert selections only 3 choices.
I wish I knew my servers name because she was absolutely fantastic. The food and drinks were very good. Thank you for making my first visit so memorable. I will definitely return for a fun and enjoyable experience.
Celebrating a family birthday brought us here, but the food and service will make us come back. Yum! It was a great night!
The food was good but not amazing as expected, considering we had dinner on Mother's Day, the menu was price fixed with three entree's to pick from that was an odd Entree combination, a Fish, Lamb and Beef Stew to choose from. Nice place and friendly service. Reason I indicated pricey is that a Kid's Chicken Tenders and Roasted Potatoes (not French Fries) was $24.95 when the other Kid's option Mac n Cheese was $15.95.
Went to BMH for Mother's Day Brunch. Service was friendly and fast. The room had an unpleasant musty smell (the restaurant is in a historical building). The food was very bad. The portions were huge, but the quality of the food was like institutional, cafeteria food.
I hadn't liked the food with the previous owner(long ago) but thought I would try this again since it's been under new management. Hard to accurately rate the service since they had a large event outside and a very large party inside which contributed to making it somewhat slow. Nevertheless, our waitress was wonderful and the food was outstanding. I understand the chef trained in Europe. The decor is very lovely. I would highly recommend for a romantic evening or a special occasion.
I would recommend this restaurant to have a nice evening out. Quite, very nice & attentive wait staff, food was excellent. Lots of fish entree’s on the menu. Will be going back sometime in the future when the weather is warmer & there patio is open.
Their was a Russian 75th bday party, that was quite rowdy
The bathroom door knob broke
Food took for ever to come
And it was freezing
My wife and I had a very nice experience at the Bridgetown Mill House. Very nice and clean; beautiful building; the servers/staff were friendly and attentive. Food was excellent and while a bit expensive I can't say it wasn't worth it. Portions were fair and an excellent well rounded menu. The chef came out to say hello near the end of the evening and she was very nice. Entertainment was provided (singer and guitarist and they were just wonderful). Overall a pleasant and romantic experience and we will go back.
Fantastic evening all around! The owner was very attentive and the food was amazing!!
Great place to have dinner. As long as you don’t eat. Very limited menu, food came out late and cold.
Can’t blame the server, she was great.
Will only go back for drinks in the outside deck.
Lovely place with cozy dining, drinks and food just delicious. If you have the chance to have Nancy wait on you you'll feel like family before you leave.
Food was delicious
The head waitress/hostess, Nancy, was very helpful, knowledgeable and friendly. It was a fun place and a good choice for a New Year's Eve quiet dinner celebration. The prix fixe menu for New Years Eve was a 5 course meal, with very good portions for each course. Unique selections, well prepared, and nice presentation. Each course was very tasty and well made.
The setting is beautiful, and the service was attentive. We attended the special New Year's Eve dinner and were underwhelmed by the food itself. That being said, I would still try again for the regular menu.
I thought the prices were a bit on the high side but it was balanced by the live music. Excellent singer. Food was good. Presentation is as very nice.
Went for Christmas Eve with one other person. Fixed menu, even though the website did not say that. Any changes were $10 more. Hit with a 20% gratuity in a fairly empty restaurant as well. Nice place with good food, but far better value elsewhere.
Christmas Dinner with family. It was excellent! Food was delicious and servers were spot on.
We were a party of 12, easily arranged in advance, for Christmas day dinner. Authentic Bucks County mill house setting. Greeted warmly, given tour of the restaurant. Creative cocktails, private dining room with music, fireplace, Christmas tree. Food was great, 5 courses. Hospitality and service was truly outstanding. Everyone enjoyed the holiday dinner immensely. Strongly recommended for your special occasions!
The menu was innovative. It was disappointing that the top choice for my entree and dessert the restaurant had run out of. Our waitress was nice but often aloof, missing obvious times to attend to us.
Still, this is a special place and one I will return to again.
Very nice for a special occasion!
The mushroom soup was good but the sea bass was previously frozen and incredibly fishy. I almost sent it back. The zucchini and Brussel sprouts were so over cooked, I could have rung out their water. The osso buco looked dreadful and tasted terrible. The food quality wasn’t even as bad as the worst wedding food I have had. The staff was incredibly friendly and the building is lovely but the food is just bad.
