Brigantine La Mesa
The Brigantine is always a great place to dine. My favorite dish there is the swordfish. It’s always fresh and delicious! The service has always been excellent and my family and I have been dining there for many years.
I have never had fish and chips where the fish was tough!! Who ever heard of tough fish?
Overdone fish , and fries they should be ashamed of. Overdone yet soggy.
Clam chowder was very thick and gluey, but flavor was good.
I made my reservation a few weeks ago. It’s my 12 year old son’s favorite restaurant and I thought we would go to celebrate my 47th birthday.
We arrived early and had to wait for our table. When the were finally ready to take us back, they took us through the main dining area, to another room and place us at a tiny two-top table right next to the serving area. WTF? This is where you place me to celebrate my birthday (they knew about this beforehand as I had mentioned it in my reservation notes).
The clam chowder was the worst I’ve ever had and the entrees were mediocre at best.
This was our last time at Brigantine.
We’ll take our business to Anthony’s.
Great experience. Candy was an excellent waiter. The menu has great variety and the food is delicious. The Brigantine in La Mesa provides a great dining experience with local convenience.
Excellent service and quality of food. The server was professional and attentive.
Great place for brunch. I would be happy to pay more for a better grade of sparkling wine, however.
We always enjoy dinner at the Brigantine. The staff is great and always willing to please. Favorite entre is the Alaskan halibut. Love it when they bring in the fresh Maine lobster.
One of my favorite places to eat. I remember first eating at the Coronado location in early 2000s when me and other Sailors would go for lunch. Been going to the La Mesa location since 2012 when I moved back to San Diego and am never disappointed.
Tonight I had one of the specials, the artichoke and crab stuffed sea bass. Fantastic! I had sea bass at one of Gordon Ramsay's restaurants in Tokyo in 2010. The Brigantine does it even better.
Tonight was a farewell dinner for my dad after he spent the summer with us. This is his favorite restaurant in San Diego too.
We celebrated the Brig’s 50th with good friends. The swordfish and steak were excellent and Olivia did a great job taking care of us.
They are a La Mesa staple restaurant celebrating 50 years. They are a go-to bar and restaurant for a lot of people - especially people that live in the neighborhood. Love it!
The Brigantine never lets us down. After the delicious meal and superior service, we always leave happy and looking forward to our next visit!
Date night was fun nice environment and cuisine. Love the remodel they did.
Great dinner, great service! John was a fantastic server and made our dining experience a fun one! Thanks!!!
Lovely evening with our dear friends and Forrest, our server, made it such a pleasant experience.
Always a favorite place for us to dine. Great food, great friends, great restaurant.
Very impressed with the food and service. When we arrived, our table was ready, and we were seated immediately. It was a wonderful dining experience, and we'll definitely return...
Food and service was awesome as always!
This is our go-to place for celebrations! Love everything about it...and food is always cooked to perfection!
Thank you for making me feel special on my 66th birthday :)
The Brigantine in La Mesa works with me on my very low salt diet. It is a place I can go with salt ruining the next few days.
A very nice restaurant to celebrate a wedding anniversary.
I have been going to this restaurant for years and have always liked it. I still do BUT THE PARKING IS ABSOLUTELY INSANE! In the last year or so, when I've come for lunch, I've had to add at least twenty minutes to my arrival time in order to be on time for my reservation because the parking is nonexistent. To drive around for 15 minutes just to find parking is crazy! And there aren't that many people inside the Brig. So who do these cars belong to? I'm seriously considering other options. My Cobb salad was exceptionally good this time with a bit more lobster in the bowl! Really tasty. But our server was simply subpar. Very sloppy and careless. And now the restaurant is adding a 4% surcharge. While I understand the need to up the minimum wage, I feel like you snuck it in there on us unsuspecting customers. Just raise the price of the menu items and cut out the surcharge. Straight forward and honest. We can handle it. :-)
Our server, Rodrigo was excellent. He timed the serving of the meal perfectly, and that is a lost art!
I love the scallop dish you had years ago, this one is ok. I’ll stick to shrimp & grits wonderful. Please don’t remove from menu.
Bravo to bartender jalapeño, cucumber margaritas were great.
As always outstanding food and service no matter which location visited.
My favorite La Mesa restaurant. Always delicious, unique, great variety, and great service.
This location is always busy. Service was a bit slow. Food was good. We ordered the Mac nut Alaskan halibut, swordfish, sea bass, and seafood pasta. The dessert was my favorite part. Recommend the mud pie and the cheesecake.
The Brigantine is our all time favorite restaurant. Best fish tacos ever. Best menu selection with such a variety of different choices that it's difficult to choose. I'm so sad that my husband and I are moving out of California and going to Myrtle Beach South Carolina. Wish you would open one there!
Excellent service! Wonderful food and staff let you have an enjoyable lunch without you rushing you. The food portions we're perfect and delicious.
Good food. My only complaint is that they do not have espresso.
Server very efficient but had too many tables to serve. We always have a very meal here.
GREAT DINNER, FOOD, SERVICE, COCKTAILS AND ATMOSPHERE...A GREAT EVENING!!!
Had a wonderful dinner on the patio and it was quite and relaxing! Our server was fun and all over it!
Surperior, exceptional, loved the entire experience. Thanks so much.
Server was friendly and very efficient.
The waiter came over and greeted us and asked if we wanted drinks. He said he would be back in a minute to take her order. We waited about 10 minutes. Seems he was overwhelmed with many tables including the patio area. There were many people who came in after us and got served before us. As far as the food goes it was excellent as usual. Noise level seems extremely high kind of felt like I was in a cafeteria
over all one of the best for east county. if you looking for everything above good everything
I received an email for a lobster special for $30. We ordered accordingly and got lobster and crab? Lobster was very small. Certainly not worth $30 Says in the ad cup of chowder and whole Maine lobster.
Excellent from service to food. One of our favorites
Lobster was cooked to perfection! I’m used to so called seafood restaurants over cooking that you need a steak knife to cut the rubber mess. LaMesa is a highly tuned operation and a credit to the management. Everyone is attentive and they make you fill welcome. Glass never goes empty, food delivered piping hot.
Food was wonderful, as was our waiter.
Food was amazing! Great experience!
