Brx American Bistro
Food was very good. Scallops and steak Diane were excellent. Ribs were very good but Jerk sauce was not spicey. Cocktails and wine selections were good. Love that they offer “individual” desserts. Service was excellent. Our first time here and will definitely be going back.
Much improved menu, one of my favorites. Some excellent classic dishes, and great wine store
This was the 4th time eating at the restaurant and all 4 times i have been disappointed. I have several food allergies and have been very specific as to what I can or cannot eat. (Gluten, dairy, eggs etc) I ordered a salad with just lettuce and cucumber with grilled chicken with only salt and pepper. That part they got right. I asked for balsamic vinegar and oil which the brought and i proceeded to put on the salad as normal. The first bite thought tasted funny but yet familiar. So i took a second bite and realized that it was soy sauce instead of balsamic vinegar. I am not sure how you make that mistake. As it turned out it was not gluten free and i paid the price for 24 hours until I was able to clear my system. They did waive the price of the salad but didn’t help the after effect. They need to get the waiter to listen to what people are asking for instead of just rushing to take the next persons order.
Each of the proceeding 3 visits there were similar issues and on one occasion i just didn’t eat. I only have gone because some friends like to go. However, i will never go again nor book reservations for our group.
Food was amazing. Everyone was happy. Waiter was delightful.
My son and I went for Mother's Day dinner. The restaurant was crowded, and we had to wait even though we made a reservation. We were ultimately seated in the noisy bar with lots of distracting TV's, and it was not to my liking. I was not offered the free glass of champagne, despite the fact that I was there with my son. The food was not great. The French fry appetizer was large and good. The falafel sandwich was horrible. It was a very thick patty that tasted like uncooked minced vegetables. The ribs tasted really old. The service was rather poor -- had to call several different waiters to get bread, place an order, etc. Not one of the better experiences that I have had there. :-(
We come here every year on mother’s day. We enjoy it greatly. Wonderful selection of food. Nice ambiance. Staff is very helpful. We will continue to celebrate here every year.
I booked a 2:30 reservation via OpenTable, but when I went to the Brx website, I noticed that the restaurant had posted there would be two seatings (10:30 and 1:00) and the restaurant would be closed at 3:00. So, I called and they graciously honored our reservation time and said that they would stay open as long as necessary to ensure everyone was satisfied. And that's what they did and then some! The buffet was beautiful with wonderful breakfast and dinner food, including a carving station with roast beef and lamb, and large shrimp cocktail, as well as a generous and varied dessert station. Not only did we enjoy the buffet, but the staff was extremely pleasant and service-oriented and they made us feel very welcome and very special. I would recommend this restaurant for both the food and the experience.
A close friend and I had dinner at the restaurant. We have been friends for almost 30 years and we live in separate parts of the US and abroad so we don’t see each other very often. First we did a nice walk at Riverbend Park and then had dinner at the Brx Bistro and had a great catch up about family, life, etc. It was a wonderful afternoon and we decided the Bistro would be our spot when we get together.
So great to have this terrific restaurant in our neighborhood of Great Falls.
Located at the corner of Georgetown Pike and Rt.7 this is a great spot. My wife and I frequent Brx and have never been disappointed. Great variety of entrees, soups etc. Ordered Steak Diane, scalloped potatoes, asparagus and juliened veggies. Amazing! They also do a chef selected pan seared scallops that we normally order. Can't go wrong.
Never disappoints. Took some friends from out of town and they say they are now jealous not to be closer to Brix!
We’ve been going to Brx for some time now... never gets old. Virtually everything on the menu is great and nightly specials are not to be missed. Good service and an involved owner / chef makes this a must visit!
We love this neighborhood place on the fringes of Great Falls. Great food and catering - happy hour specials delicious. The avocado bruschetta a stand out appetizer, all the salads amazing, as are the burgers.
I’ve eaten there several times and it was great again. Avocado appetizer awesome. Ordered several appetizers and they were all good. Salmon entree great as well as short ribs.
We enjoyed our meal at Brx. Ordered some great wine and tapas style appetizers. More than enough food for two people as we wanted to share dessert. Very friendly service and staf. Excellent wine list. A bit noisy on Friday nights as lots of families dining. But that is a good sign
Not a busy night but we had to wait more than we should for service, had to ask for drinks (iced tea) and one entree was wrong
Food was wonderful and the service was great. Portions were good and French onion soup was delicious. Everyone was very nice and social.
The food was very good. Well prepared, served in a timely manner and well seasoned. There was a nice variety on the menu that would please almost anyone. Unfortunately, our party was seated at a table in a corner that rocked miserably. Every time someone cut their food or leaned on the table it shifted. Water was spilling out of our glasses when they were filled. It was Valentine's night, so there were no other table options.... but this table should not be in service at all. Our waiter was quite young and struggled at the start, but after that rough start he was quite attentive, and his initial lack of attention was very much made up for with his earnest efforts to take care of us on what we knew was a very busy night. I would not hesitate to return, as I expect that on a less frenetic evening we would likely not face the negatives but that the food would be every bit as good.
Great food and service!!
Great quality food at a reasonable price coupled with a nice wine list. Everything tasted as if it was prepared with a great attention to detail.
We went twice-our first experience was pleasant with a great server. Crab cakes way too much mayo though. Unfortunately second time we went we were treated rudely. We were waiting for half an hour for seat in the bar. Another couple came in after us -clearly regulars-and were immediately seated before us. They did not have a reservation (the female patron told me that). Won’t be going back. Food isn’t that great anyway.
One of my go-to restaurants. Always wonderful service. Food is well prepared and delicious. Always (6 times out of 6) a good experience; wanting to come back before I’ve even returned home.
Great ambiance - nice owner! Waiter was relatively new, so room for improvement there. Wine was delicious, but a little overpriced. Definitely going back!!
Brix is a neighborhood gem - Food and service are consistently good but what makes it special is that you are welcomed and treated like special dinner guests of the owner - and staff -
The food at Brix is very good and innovative and the wine list is great. However, the ambience and service could be improved. We waited for service and saw tables seated after us giving orders and being served before we were. Finally, the maitre d' took our orders. Apparently, he didn't tell the waiter because he came back twice to take our orders. There were only two of us but appetizers came at different times. My husband was about half-way through his appetizer when mine arrived. The restaurant was very busy but they have been around for many years and should be able to handle a busy night better than they did. The maitre d' realized we did not have great service and both he and the waiter thanked us for our patience. The maitre d' gave us a complimentary dessert and that was very gracious of him. But he shouldn't have needed to do that. We were not in a hurry and were, indeed, were patient and didn't complain, but better service throughout our meal would have been appreciated. And we had to practically shout at each other throughout the meal. There are relative easy and attractive ways to baffle sound and they should be explored by the restaurant. We will go back but it will be on a week-night so, hopefully, they will not be as noisy or busy and service will be better.
We always count on the knowing that the restaurant will be good. And this time it was
Excellent service and overall outstanding experience
Another delicious winter soup ... yum!
I owed a friend a debt of gratitude and she chose this restaurant which I had never heard of. We both enjoyed our meal, the peaceful, quiet luncheon, the outstanding service, and the lovely decor. We both will happily come again another day.
Nothing better than delicious soup at BRX on a chilly day! It is truly a neighborhood gem!
Nice place with really good food. We are at the bar area.
Fantastic last minute find with a great variety and absolutely one of the best mushroom soups I’ve ever had!
Terrible service and no waiter would claim our table even though we had reservations. We were just a quiet family of five and every waiter was annoyed by our presence because they forgot about our reservation. They acknowledged it was in the system but they must have overlooked it.
BRX has become
This was my first time dining at Brx. Great food, great staff... great place!!! We will be back.
Delicious beef goulash soup and warm French bread on a cold windy day ... nothing better. Great neighborhood restaurant.
LOVE THIS PLACE! The owner and service in impeccable.
Service and cuisine were great. We had a large party and everything was well organized. Food, as always, was outstanding.
Great neighborhood restaurant! Try it ... you'll be hooked!
