Brx American Bistro
First time visit. Pleasantly surprised. Good selection on menu. We got the petite filet, crabcakes and trout. All were happy with their meals. Will definitely be back.
Great find in great falls. Always skeptical going to a restaurant in a strip mall but BRX pulls it off. Great bar and restaurant. Nice setting and looks like it could be great outside patio. Food was outstanding and a great wine list Owner is friendly and gracious
Always wonderful. The ambiance, the service, the food and the wine are always top notch.
We were there for a Sunday dinner.
Seated right away, service was excellent and the food was better!?
WOW! Chef Owner Ashwani Ahluwalia knows how to create the perfect combination of an eclectic menu of delicious food for everyone, warm ambiance and superior service. Then wrap all of that in a wine theme that is like a trip to Napa. What's not to like? Hands down one of the top restaurants in NOVA. That is no exaggeration. Brx is that good.
Nice variety of options on the menu, everything we had was delicious. Easy parking, nice option outside of the RESTON Town Center.
It’s our favorite spot! Great food, lovely setting, warm host and servers.
I met a friend for lunch. We hadn’t seen each other in quite some time and ended up spending over 3 hours at the table. (uncrowded time of day). The food was delicious and the waiter didn’t hurry us in any way. Very pleasant and pretty place- I’ll go back for dinner!!
Nice enough place for a neighborhood eatery. They are proud of their wine list I think, but I thought the wine was priced too high, particularly for a casual place like this. The waiter kept suggesting bottles that were over $50. We went on a Thursday and the place was mostly empty. There are too many items on the menu for this place to do them all well and keep the food fresh. My burger tasted like the patty was frozen It was extremely dense, like it was formed in a machine. The fries were just warm, like they were cooked a while ago, but they tasted OK. If friends wanted to meet there, I wouldn't say no, but I would not chose this place myself.
Brx was really busy the Friday night we were there. The entire staff pitched in to make sure guests had and excellent experience. They have a great wines by the glass list and all of our meals were terrific.
Bronzino was amazing. Service as always excellent.
The meals were delicious and the service was very attentive.
My wife loves her birthday dinner. I appreciate the Chef asking who's birthday it was when we were being seated, made the experience more personal. I will be coming back again, the food was great as well as the presentation.
We had two fantastic meals (scallops and crab). Great place to have a relaxing meal.
Best food in the great falls sterling Reston area hands down.
Great service and food. The outdoor patio in the back is a great place to sit, relax with a cocktail, and enjoy your meal.
First timers and we will definitely be returning soon. Got a very warm welcome and family run feeling to the service provided. Looking forward to exploring the various menu offerings in the future.
Excellent in every way - setting, food, service. I would highly recommend Brix to all my friends.
Food was very good. Scallops and steak Diane were excellent. Ribs were very good but Jerk sauce was not spicey. Cocktails and wine selections were good. Love that they offer “individual” desserts. Service was excellent. Our first time here and will definitely be going back.
My husband and I went here from the recommendation of a family friend. We enjoyed the food, but there was a graduation party inside and we had to maneuver our way to our seats through the party. Then, we had to deal with screaming children from the party running, playing tag around our table until the couple next to us complained and their parents seemed to come out take little control of the situation.
Needless to say, we'll be sitting at the bar next time if we decided to give BRX another chance.
Much improved menu, one of my favorites. Some excellent classic dishes, and great wine store
This was the 4th time eating at the restaurant and all 4 times i have been disappointed. I have several food allergies and have been very specific as to what I can or cannot eat. (Gluten, dairy, eggs etc) I ordered a salad with just lettuce and cucumber with grilled chicken with only salt and pepper. That part they got right. I asked for balsamic vinegar and oil which the brought and i proceeded to put on the salad as normal. The first bite thought tasted funny but yet familiar. So i took a second bite and realized that it was soy sauce instead of balsamic vinegar. I am not sure how you make that mistake. As it turned out it was not gluten free and i paid the price for 24 hours until I was able to clear my system. They did waive the price of the salad but didn’t help the after effect. They need to get the waiter to listen to what people are asking for instead of just rushing to take the next persons order.
Each of the proceeding 3 visits there were similar issues and on one occasion i just didn’t eat. I only have gone because some friends like to go. However, i will never go again nor book reservations for our group.
Food was amazing. Everyone was happy. Waiter was delightful.
My son and I went for Mother's Day dinner. The restaurant was crowded, and we had to wait even though we made a reservation. We were ultimately seated in the noisy bar with lots of distracting TV's, and it was not to my liking. I was not offered the free glass of champagne, despite the fact that I was there with my son. The food was not great. The French fry appetizer was large and good. The falafel sandwich was horrible. It was a very thick patty that tasted like uncooked minced vegetables. The ribs tasted really old. The service was rather poor -- had to call several different waiters to get bread, place an order, etc. Not one of the better experiences that I have had there. :-(
We come here every year on mother’s day. We enjoy it greatly. Wonderful selection of food. Nice ambiance. Staff is very helpful. We will continue to celebrate here every year.
I booked a 2:30 reservation via OpenTable, but when I went to the Brx website, I noticed that the restaurant had posted there would be two seatings (10:30 and 1:00) and the restaurant would be closed at 3:00. So, I called and they graciously honored our reservation time and said that they would stay open as long as necessary to ensure everyone was satisfied. And that's what they did and then some! The buffet was beautiful with wonderful breakfast and dinner food, including a carving station with roast beef and lamb, and large shrimp cocktail, as well as a generous and varied dessert station. Not only did we enjoy the buffet, but the staff was extremely pleasant and service-oriented and they made us feel very welcome and very special. I would recommend this restaurant for both the food and the experience.
A close friend and I had dinner at the restaurant. We have been friends for almost 30 years and we live in separate parts of the US and abroad so we don’t see each other very often. First we did a nice walk at Riverbend Park and then had dinner at the Brx Bistro and had a great catch up about family, life, etc. It was a wonderful afternoon and we decided the Bistro would be our spot when we get together.
So great to have this terrific restaurant in our neighborhood of Great Falls.
Located at the corner of Georgetown Pike and Rt.7 this is a great spot. My wife and I frequent Brx and have never been disappointed. Great variety of entrees, soups etc. Ordered Steak Diane, scalloped potatoes, asparagus and juliened veggies. Amazing! They also do a chef selected pan seared scallops that we normally order. Can't go wrong.
Never disappoints. Took some friends from out of town and they say they are now jealous not to be closer to Brix!
We’ve been going to Brx for some time now... never gets old. Virtually everything on the menu is great and nightly specials are not to be missed. Good service and an involved owner / chef makes this a must visit!
We love this neighborhood place on the fringes of Great Falls. Great food and catering - happy hour specials delicious. The avocado bruschetta a stand out appetizer, all the salads amazing, as are the burgers.
I’ve eaten there several times and it was great again. Avocado appetizer awesome. Ordered several appetizers and they were all good. Salmon entree great as well as short ribs.
We enjoyed our meal at Brx. Ordered some great wine and tapas style appetizers. More than enough food for two people as we wanted to share dessert. Very friendly service and staf. Excellent wine list. A bit noisy on Friday nights as lots of families dining. But that is a good sign
Not a busy night but we had to wait more than we should for service, had to ask for drinks (iced tea) and one entree was wrong
Food was wonderful and the service was great. Portions were good and French onion soup was delicious. Everyone was very nice and social.
The food was very good. Well prepared, served in a timely manner and well seasoned. There was a nice variety on the menu that would please almost anyone. Unfortunately, our party was seated at a table in a corner that rocked miserably. Every time someone cut their food or leaned on the table it shifted. Water was spilling out of our glasses when they were filled. It was Valentine's night, so there were no other table options.... but this table should not be in service at all. Our waiter was quite young and struggled at the start, but after that rough start he was quite attentive, and his initial lack of attention was very much made up for with his earnest efforts to take care of us on what we knew was a very busy night. I would not hesitate to return, as I expect that on a less frenetic evening we would likely not face the negatives but that the food would be every bit as good.
Great food and service!!
