The food was terrible. I was surprised that the hotel would connect its name to something so bad!
Vacation with family.
Great location, good food, an overall great time!
The excellent food and sitting outside on Penn Ave makes Cafe du Parc such an amazing experience. Unfortunately, the service was pretty slow, but it wasn't the waiter's fault. It appeared only 2 waiters were working the entire patio and inside. I understand that many businesses are still struggling to hire back staff as we recover from the pandemic, so I wasn't upset, just had to find the waiter a couple of times.
Our sever and the kitchen staff were outstanding; they accommodated our food allergies, e.g. making the lobster sandwich without dairy (delicious!) and recommending gluten free options as well, and our server helped make the 10-year anniversary that my wife and I were celebrating even more special. It was such a warm reception, and my wife and I look forward to our next visit.
Was not sure what to expect, I was not disappointed, great staff, and the food was outstanding...........
Great food. Always a favorite spot. Seemed a bit short of staff.
Gazpacho is amazing. And them came the grilled salmon—excellent chef.
The staff really make this place work like a finely tuned machine. Always nice, always welcoming and professional.
We had a great waiter, but a rude waiter assistant. He didn’t like our 2 requests for ketchup, Mayo, salt and pepper - we were the only table on the second floor.
I’m older and had high heels on and the waiter would not let me use the elevator to get to bathrooms on first floor. I rode it back upstairs and insisted he let my family use the elevator when they needed the restrooms. He tried to stop them too. The elevator takes you directly to the bathrooms and it’s so convenient.
Such a lovely space they just need to up the service and hospitality.
The front of the house was lovely!!!
Both Elizabeth and Rath worked together to insure that my grandson and I had a delicious and healthy meal to take on our train ride home. They couldn’t have been more helpful. This restaurant was so good, we would consider staying at the Willard next time in town.
Pretty, clean and delicious. You may be able to find something a bit more hip and trendy but the food can’t be beat for quality. We are planning our third meal there this trip alone.
While not the best French Bistro in the capital, Café du Parc is a good option for good, tasty, good quality food. The ambience is great, located at The Willard and with a nice view down Pennsylvania Avenue to the Capitol.
Pleasant restaurant for breakfast - outside seating was very nice
One order was wrong, the other wasn’t cooked fully. No one apologized and they did not reduce the very expensive bill at all. Nice location but we will not eat there again.
Great setting for outdoor dining. It's not crazy expensive but I was not impressed with the food. Flavorful...yes, but the quality if the product just didn't measure up. Not in any hurry to rush back.
A lovely outdoor venue; tables spaced nicely; excellent menu; sufficient drinks/wine/beer choices. Lots of fun!
Great outdoor dining and excellent food. Service was very attentive and well paced.
Horrible experience! Made reservations here for a business lunch. We arrived, were seated, asked what type of water we would like. After sitting for 20 minutes, we asked to order our meals and were told that the kitchen is full and not taking orders for 45 mins - 1 hour. How come we were not informed this before being seated, while being seated, or while waiting for 20 minutes while they still took our water/drink requests?! Ridiculous. Poor customer service.
Great place to go for a special ocassion. We celebrated Mother's day with a brunch.
Celebrating Mother’s Day, the brunch was amazing.
Service felt rushed with the appetizers served within a minute of the order. For dinner, when pre dinner coctails are ordered, I would expect a little more time to relax and enjoy before beginning food service. WE were seated at a corner table and the server could not reach to put plates in front of me. So I had to reach over the table for them, and hand off to clear. If I wanted to clear dishes I could do that at home. Also some plates were cleared before everyone was finished with entree and the dessert menus placed. It was rude, and I felt embarrassed for my guest. Amateur service very much below what I would expect here.
I took the following (~$50 including gratitude):
— Onion soup — good
— Turkey salad — below average. Fries were with some bad taste, and overcooked. Bread and salad were fine
— Coffee — good
View from the restaurant, if you sit in the right place, is great
Overall, considering value for money — I wouldn’t go again
Attentive service is a hallmark of Cafe' Du Parc. Brunch is now extended until 2:00pm so we enjoyed, as usual the eggs benedicts as the entrée. But the appetizer, a magnificent crab cake with the most delicious tarter really set this dinning experience off. Kudos to one of our favorite chef's.
Simple breakfast spot, with great breakfast options. Service was a little slow, but besides that, it was great.
The outdoor seating has a beautiful view and the food was very good, but the service staff overall was very sub-par. If it were not for Elizabeth, this review would have been much worse, but she saved the overall service from being poor or lower, because she was exceptional and corrected the numerous mistakes of the other staff. One staff member told us that the sangria was no longer available, though Elizabeth was able to get us an order; also another staff member brought an entire order from another party to our table and left it with us even when I told him it was not ours, so again Elizabeth was required to retrieve and deliver it to the correct party; and finally, the other staff member put the wrong plates in front of us at our table and we had to sort it for ourselves. The initial staff also completely failed to provide us flatware even after our bread plate had arrived. Given the prices on the menu and the many alternatives in the area, this level of service is unacceptable. Again, I cannot say enough for the exceptional efforts of Elizabeth to save the overall reputation of your establishment. Very well done to her, and thank you Elizabeth!
PS - I am giving the "yes" to recommend to a friend due to the lovely scenery around the outdoor seating and the hopes that the staff performance was a fluke and will be corrected.
Very good food. Beautiful location and excellent service.
The food was great, but I asked for water and never got it. When my food came it burnt my mouth and I was waving at my waiter to again ask for water. He looked directly at me and we made eye contact, and then turned away and acted like he didn’t see me. Very poor service on his part. The other waiters were very nice. But my mouth is still burnt thanks to my waiter’s poor service.
Food came out fast and everything was great! Service was amazing
A great spot for early breakfast at the gates to the White House -- great site year-round.
The setting is one of the best in the city. Food was Very Good little pricey but that is location based. Overall it was a great place to bring out of town guest to
Such a pleasant experience to sit outside on a lovely evening after our year long lockdown. The first course and dessert were very good indeed, the main courses not so much. The rock fish was over cooked to the point of dryness and there was too much "vegetable" mixture (I don't know what else to call it) taking up a third of the plate. It was also inedible. The filet was not of the best quality. The prices are high so we were expecting better. However, we are willing to give it another try since the wait staff are polite and efficient another are other interesting items on the menu.
Café du Parc never let’s it’s diners down!
Absolutely excellent service, as always, but the food is the main draw. Superb preparation, and the chef lets the food speak for itself without drowning everything in sauces. It is easily our favorite restaurant in DC.
The night was nice and the service quite good. Unfortunately, the Cobb salad could have been better. I hope next time i visit, the food will be up to part. Thanks,
We enjoyed a 3-course afternoon lunch on the terrace. The appetizers and desserts were top notch, the main courses (rockfish and Beef Bourguignon) were OK. The waiter was slow and a little unresponsive, but otherwise friendly. The street was quiet and it was it was a memorable spring afternoon.
Onion Soup was blah. But the crab cake amazing and the croque monsieur delicious
