Always an amazing dining experience!!! Pleasant ambiance. Excellent staff. Love this neighborhood gem!!!

The food was really mediocre, except for the lemon sponge dessert. The is the second of two times I’ve come recently and I won’t be back.

Though the server gave us time to look over the menu; he was clearly annoyed, but most likely not as annoyed as I was when saw how tiny the Cardamon Old Fashion pour was- it made the orange used for the orange peel seem to be cantaloupe size. And that was the theme for our entree's as well- the $31 signature dish - chargrilled Spanish- spiced lamb tenderloin was sub-par with no seasoning except for the last minute salsa verde drizzled on top. The white sweet potatoes were under-cooked and tough.

The Charbroiled Faroe Islands Salmon steak was however very well cooked (Chef's medium recommendation - both soft on the inside and flaky on the outside) and flavorful.

The restaurant was pretty dead for a Sunday dinner and 99% of the guests were over the age of 65! You would imagine that this would create such a wonderful quiet atmosphere, but don't be mistaken- the loud scratchy voice of the manager is clearly heard screaming for HANDS from her servers who clearly didn't push themselves because a veteran server could run that small dining room by themselves. My suggestion to management is make personal touch points at tables to check on them and create better experiences and for the servers to build relationships and connect with their tables as opposed to answering questions about the menu with two word responses and then just checking if we're ready to order. I don't recall being asked if it was our first time or learning anything about the restaurant- this was an opportunity lost and cannot be won back.

This date night visit was a successful dining experience. The dining area had great mood lighting, the food was exceptional, and the service was very good. My guest (and I) were most impressed. Highly recommend and we will definitely return.

Our meals at Cafe Lily are always delicious! You cannot go wrong with the calamari appetizer- it is to die for!

Was wowed from entering through the front door!!! Great reception at host stand and was promptly escorted to our table. Our server was super helpful and friendly. Never had to ask for a thing and the food was spectacular!! Would definitely recommend for anyone to go for whatever occasion you may have!!

Valentines

They changed the menu for Valentine's Day and took away the half servings and also required an entree for everyone. I would have been happy with a couple of yummy appetizers but... The food was - ok - but not worth the inflated prices. It was also strange to me that other diners were offered bread but we were not until mid-way through the main course. Kind of late then.

Also, when they called a couple of days before to confirm our dinner plans I was told basically that they expect us to be done with our dinner in 90 minutes so that they can seat other diners. OK, I get it, but really?

We've been here before and have always come away happy. That's why we reserved a table there again. But I doubt we'll be back.

We eat at Cafe Lily for many special occasions. The food is always good and the service is excellent.

Love Cafe Lily! We usually celebrate our wedding anniversary and Valentine's day there for the last 14 years or so. Wonderful food, great service, in a Romantic setting near our home in Kirkwood. I chose the seafood with linguine while my husband chose the house special lamb dinner.

One of my four favorite restaurants in the Atlanta area--and one of the two in Decatur. I try to eat at each once a month,. The cuisine and service at Café Lily is consistently among the best and, once again, ensured that I will return next month. We are fortunate to have such an exceptional restaurant here in Decatur.

Brunch for 4 friends. Had a very nice experience. Food was good, service excellent. Very comfortable space!

Very enjoyable dinner. The Salade Nicoise was quite good and my friend said her salmon was among the best she has had (and she lives on salmon). A minor annoyance was the bare concrete floors, noisy and a bit chilly for this time of year.

We dined the last two Saturday nights at Café Lily. Both times everything was great. I had salmon both visits. The first time was probably the best ever. The second time was very good, but maybe a little over grilled.
Otherwise, meal was perfect.

We love Cafe Lily. We think of it as unpretentious fine dining. We feel so comfortable there, the service is always excellent, and the food is fantastic. It's a joy to have it in downtown Decatur.

Food was just ok! The waiter interrupted us every five minutes and then rushed us to pay the bill. It was not relaxing at all.

Had a marvelous dinner last Sat. night at Cafe Lily. Our waiter, Chris, was superb. Knowledgeable but not pushy and a super smile that was authentic. Have been there several times but not recently until last Sat. We both ordered and loved the great Mediterranean lamb dish for our entree. as well. All around great.

A beloved Decatur classic. Impeccable service and tasty food; the wine service is great and the cocktail options are expanding.

My previous experience had been great. This experience with the grilled trout was not good. Imagine sweet fish... yuck. The appetizer pate and bottle of wine Carmel Road were wonderful as was the cheese cake. When I spend this much money I want to leave with a good feeling— I didn’t. The server was also at her best. My entree left too much to be desired and my guest felt the same about her meal—a seafood pasta dish. Won’t come back or recommend anytime soon.

Chef Wes created a delicious trout amandine special that was so delicious. And the Ragu bolognese was also great. We’re going to keep hoping those specials come back around soon. 😋

This was a birthday celebration

I took a friend out for a belated birthday dinner. We both had a drink, an appetizer, half an entree and a dessert. Everything was very good except my shrimp appetizer was a little over cooked and when the server brought it to me he immediately squeezed a lot of lemon on it. I think that he should have asked me first. The very good items we had were the salmon appetizer, the pasta entrees (one with butternut squash and the other with goat cheese), the chocolate dessert and the lemon dessert. Service was good although they were so quick with the entrees we had to ask them to hold the entrees until my friend finished her appetizer. Both of us said that we would return here.

As usual, Cafe Lily was up to snuff - and it is a pretty high snuff at that. I have gone there for ten or fifteen years and I have yet to be disappointed. My lobster ravioli had a delicate flavor, the mussels in a spicy broth were mildly spiced, and the Sancerre was just lively enough to keep up with the mussels. (I would have gotten the French Chardonnay if they hadn’t run out of the rum-cured salmon for an app. A group had already eaten up a ton of it the night before. It’s hard to blame them.) Karen enjoyed her pinchitos which is great because she does not like spicy food. Whew! It was another wonderful meal at Cafe Lily. Please try it if you haven’t already.

This is my second time dining here with my family. Both times have been memorable and delicious! The food, service and ambiance are different than what other restaurants in the area are offering. Will return!

We dined at Café Lily on New Year's Eve with my husband, children, and parents. Our servers were so helpful and helped my kids pick menu items, as well as my mother, who is older and was having trouble choosing something. Our food was really good, and everyone was happy at the end of the night. Thank you!
