Went for our anniversary as well as our daughter and son in law’s anniversary. Delicious dinner. Excellent service.
Cafe Madison is amazing, been going there for years and I’ve never been disappointed!
Really enjoyed the restaurant. Excellent food and service . The steak was melt in your mouth! Wonderful staff. Very friendly and professional.
Although the food was well prepared and enjoyable, the choices were limited and there was only one vegetarian dish offered. Still, we would have decided to come back if it hadn’t been so loud and crowded. The tables next to us were too close especially with the noise level.
We had an awesome time! The food was tremendous! Perfectly prepared and wonderfully seasoned. Absolutely delicious! Our waitress McKenzie was wonderful. There was live music that made the evening complete. Looking forward to going again.
Very nice restaurant. Great service and food. Will definitely be back!
We always enjoy dining at Café Madison especially on special occasions. The ambience, the service, the food and the music are the reasons we like to go there. Been going there since they first opened.
Great food. Awesome atmosphere. Fantastic evening celebrating mom’s birthday!!!
Food they promised was not what we received. Had to return the filet three times and still was not correctly cooked
Valentines Day. First time here. We were afraid it was going to be another overcrowded overpriced V-day. So pleasantly surprised! Dinner was perfect. Our server, Barbara was attentive and very sweet. The live music was the perfect touch.
We have heard some positive comments and decided to try out Cafe Madison for the first time. Unfortunately it was a very poor experience from the beginning. First there was no signage other than on the front door that you had to enter at the back through catering. The ambience is very nice. However the service was slow and the food was terrible. Our whipped potatoes and asparagus were cold we told the waitress and she got us new sides which were just as cold as the first. So we just finished the main entree, chose not to have dessert, payed the bill and left very disappointed.
Happy Valentines Day.
Outstanding food with service to match. Perfect for a special occasion.
Excellent atmosphere. Staff was very friendly and service was excellent. Crab cakes and salmon entrees were excellent. Made for an excellent Valentines Day early experience. Would highly recommend to anyone wanting an upscale dinner and a romantic atmosphere.
Always a nice evening of quiet conversation and good food.
The food is always excellent. The place has an air of classiness that makes it a pleasure to dine there.
The overall experience was very strange. When we walked in, there was no music playing at all and the enormous hvac system above was humming pretty loudly so everyone was basically whispering at their tables because the silence was so awkward. We had to ask for a drink menu, instead of being offered one. The entree offerings were very limited. Not worth the money. This used to be our favorite restaurant, but we’ve had 3 bad experiences in a row. Unfortunately, we will never return because their chances are up. What a shame!
Food, service and atmosphere was perfect night. Used my birthday coupon which even made it better!
70th Birthday celebration. Good food reasonably priced!
The food was outstanding with a friendly staff. Thank you.
For the price they charge, and the fact that the place is under construction, I think there are much better values not 10 miles away in Philadelphia or other cities around the area they usually much better food, much better service, and much better ambience for the price. I like the place, a given the other options, I don't see him going back anytime soon.
We had the most perfect experience at The Madison on New Years Eve. Our waiter John was attentive and very friendly. The food was phenomenal! We had the shrimp cocktail which were the largest shrimp I have seen. The dipping sauces for them were delicious. The main course we chose the Lobster two ways. What an excellent choice. The tails, yes I said tails, were tender and melted in your mouth. The lobster Mac and cheese was creamy with huge pieces of lobster. Dessert, what can I say, stupendous! Thank you for a much needed wonderful evening!
Ambiance is what makes this restaurant. Live music, perfect lighting, water effects and lots sound absorbing fabrics! The first thing you see before entering is a large beautiful fireplace. Food is only mediocre and service is horrific! Think diner queen with a bad attitude! Never checked on us after literally dropping off our four dinners! Came back at the end of dinner with check in her hand. Never asked if we wanted dessert or after dinner cocktails! We told her we would like to see the dessert menu and was told “I am the dessert menu”. I kid you not. She proceeded to tell us the 4 desserts they offer. When we asked how the pumpkin cheesecake was, she said “ well, it’s cheesecake”! We spent over $300 at this restaurant and will not go back except maybe for cocktails at the bar. The owners should seriously examine their servers attitude because I’ve had friends tell me they won’t go back because of this waitress (whose name starts with “E”). Please, please, please hire professional servers!!
Christmas buffet was not as good as last year’s spread. Nice quantity, but disappointing quality.
An excellent Birthday dinner deal buy one meal get a second one free!! We both had the lobster 2 ways, 2 tails and Lobster Mac n Cheese !! 5 Stars for sure! Thanks!!
We have been to Cafe Madison several times and have always been pleased with both the meal and the service.
Great meal as usual.
We had a FABULOUS dinner at Cafe Madison! Every dish that came out was positively PERFECT!! The only drawback was the music. We went in December (for my birthday!) - they kept playing a loop of the SAME 4 orchestral Christmas carols over and over again. Every 10 minutes or so the same music was playing. Other than the music, the evening was fantastic!!!!
Recommended with reservation. Menu is limited, no specials, and basically hasn't changed in years.
The Thanksgiving buffet was amazing!! There was variety of meats & there was not one item served that was not tasty. This was my first visit there but I will definitely be going back again soon!
We split a wedge salad, big enough for two and still some left over to take home. Filet was almost fork tender and cooked to my taste, medium rare. Accompanied by warm bread and mashed potatoes and string beans. Wednesday night is a great night to go as they are less crowded than the weekend. In fact, a server that took care of us a while back came over to chat. There's a keyboard player in back by the bar that is non-obtrusive; you can still hear is playing but it's back ground.
The atmosphere was quiet, nice. There was music provided by a gentleman that played piano, violin and another instrument. It added to the ambiance. The food was excellent. The service was terrible. The waitress brought our orders and told us there was a mistake with our vegetables. She put the plates down and quickly left. I asked another server to get our waitress. When she arrived, I told her to fix the mistake. Comprehension was not her strong point. She was very slow and never came back to refill our drinks. A different server would probably have made our experience exceptional.
Overall the night was good; however, the service was slow. We did not get our first drinks for 30 minutes and we had to go to the bar to get our second round.
We enjoyed our dining experience. I started with the arugula and romaine salad with watermelon which was a light introduction. I would definitely continue to request my dressing on the side because the creamy vinaigrette, though delicious, was a bit heavy for this refreshing starter. My friend had the butternut squash soup which was a substitute for the listed soup which I don't recall because her soup was so memorable. We ordered the filet mignon and duck entrees. The sides to my filet: pureed pototoes and haricots vert were delectable. The duck was accompanied by a corn cake which was airy and flavorless except for the sweet corn kernels. Both protein entrees were cooked to perfection. The service was excellent. We always enjoy our meals and look forward to returning to Cafe Madison.
My husband and I had a great dinner at Cafe Madison. We have been coming here for years and I swear every visit gets better and better. We started out with the corn and cucumber pico de gallo and the jersey tomato burrata. Both were so delicious. I also had to get my favorite french onion soup. For dinner I had the grilled corn cakes - I love that they now offer a few vegan selections. The corn cakes were delicious served with the jasmine rice and perfectly cooked spinach. My husband had the salmon and can't stop raving about it. It was cooked just right and had such good flavor to it. Props to the chef!
We also had amazing service as always. All of the servers always take such good care of us whenever we dine with them. I can not say enough amazing things about Cafe Madison!
We were recommended by friends who recently visited the Madison for restaurant week, and we are so glad we went! We had never heard of The Madison before, until they had mentioned it to us over the weekend. They said they had excellent service & the menu was awesome. When they compared it to Capital Grille but said it was better and so reasonably priced, we were on board. I had the rack of lamb and my boyfriend had the 10 oz NY Strip. We couldn't believe how good everything was. This will be our new date night spot. A good time with quality food & drinks (their wine list is great), without spending a fortune - you honestly can't beat it. We had after dinner cocktails in the tavern and even that was GREAT!
I cannot rave enough about this restaurant. From the moment you walk in, you feel like you're in center city Philly . Such a hidden gem in the suburbs of NJ! We were immediately greeted by a warm smile from the hostess. We opted to sit at the Martini Bar prior to our meal, and we enjoyed a perfected hand crafted cocktail along with charming conversation with the bartender. Our night only got better once we were seated. We started with the Crispy Calamari and Tuna Tartar as an appetizer - so much flavor and plentiful servings. We then had salad course I had the Madison Salad and my husband had the Classic Caesar Salad. Both were delicious! For our entree course, I had the Lobster Two Ways. I will be coming back for this for sure - I couldn't get enough! The mac & cheese was so creamy, and cheesy. You can tell everything is fresh and made in house. My husband had the 10 oz Filet Mignon. He is very particular about how his steak is cooked and he could not have been more satisfied - Bravo to the chef for cooking it to perfection, he can be a tough critic! I had a few bites, and couldn't believe how tender and juicy it was. So much flavor! We will 100% be returning to Cafe Madison. This is a perfect spot for date night, or to bring family and friends. You will surely impress everyone! There is also a beautiful Courtyard with fire place. Highly, highly recommend
This was my girlfriend and I's first time visiting Cafe Madison. We have lived in the area for a few years now and didn't even know it existed. Who would have thought this place was in Riverside. We saw it listed on the SJ Restaurant Week and didn't get a chance to make it last week so we decided to give it a try. I am so happy we did. Everything was great. We had the shrimp cocktail and tuna tartare to start. I ordered the filet for my entree and it was cooked just how I like it. My girlfriend ordered the salmon which she loved. For dessert we tried the tiramisu. We were so full but we still ate the entire piece , it was so good. We will definitely be back!
Amazing dinner at a beautiful restaurant. Always a fantastic time.
Birthday dinner for friend
The menu was outstanding. The food was delicious and the experience very memorable. Diane the restaurant manger ensured we had a wonderful meal.
