Our waitress was excellent, very hospitable and accommodating. Nice additions to the menu for sangria and food.
We were seated promptly the service was constantly aware and around for anything that we needed. The recommendations were very good and the food beyond met expectations.
I went to Calle ocho with my husband for our anniversary, we were welcome with champagne!! We ordered an appetizer dates with bacon , and for main dish I tried the ribs and my husband tried the vegetarian paella, both were delicious and served in good portions. The service was very good. I highly recommend this restaurant , thanks calle ocho , we will come back !!
Delicious food - - exquisite latin fusion recipes. Great chef, friendly and accommodating staff. Cocktails are good. It is a fun experience, but the music is a bit loud and you might feel pressure to free up your table watching people coming in with the hopes of getting a table. Reservations highly recommended!
Very good I’m happy thanks coming back
Good food just needs more chicken or shrimp dishes overall had a good time
I loved the food and the ambience. The food came quickly and the sangria drinks were amazing. I loved this place for a date. Amazing hospitality as well.
Long time fans, first time in the new location. Packed on a winter Monday night was a pleasant surprise. The space is smaller so would probably recommend making reservations any time of day. Menu had only minor changes and kept the great quality as before. Deserts are still the only weak link.
The food was amazing! Very much recommend the octopus, tacos for two and calamari. The calamari was a little saucy, but still great.
We used to frequent their other upper west side location and are excited they've relocated and are open again!
I'm on the fence. My overall impression is that the noise level is SO loud that I couldn't enjoy my company or food. I never get why such a noise level is an attraction when one cannot hear across the table.
The service was good and so was the food. I had the salmon with brussel sprouts, which was tasty and my brother had the ropa vieja which was also good.
Brunch menu was very pricy too for what you got. I got the feeling I was paying for everyone else's "free sangria."
I liked the decor of the room -- very warm and nice.
Calle Ocho is an awesome Latino Nuevo restaurant. The new location is smaller but the food and customer service are spot on. There are a few changes to the menu such as new appetizers and entrees. The popular sangrias are now available on tap. The brunch price has increased by $5 but I am happy to pay. It was a long wait for the re-opening. When the weather is warmer, the restaurant will be able to accommodate more people in the garden. Food and service remains 5 stars. Welcome back, Calle Ocho!
We had a really nice time 😊 the food choices were alright, the drinks were fabulous and the service was excellent.
Although the food and service were very good, I would not recommend Calle Ocho for one reason. The noise level on a Saturday evening (6-7:45) was so loud that is was almost painful. It was very very hard to carry on a conversation without yelling , which, of course. added to the noise level. Since it's in my neighborhood and the food was so good, I might go back on a weeknight, but never again on a weekend.
Food was good ,new place kinda smaller
Service was good but servers came to our table way too often and we felt rushed to order, eat and leave. We were only there for 1.5 hours yet we felt like they were rushing us out.
The din was unbearable and the food was mediocre. Our server interrupted us twice to ask how our food was. I think once is an intrusion; twice is over the line.
For the neighborhood and the kind of restaurant it is, the prices are way out of line. It’s close to home and could easily be a go-to place for us but we won’t be going back.
Food was good, service was good, sangria was ok, shrimp/octopus ceviche was missing the shrimp and octopus. Overall ok won’t be coming back anytime soon.
Delicious pan-Latin cuisine. Outstanding service. They know what they’re doing.
Music too loud. Difficult to talk in a normal speaking voice.
Calle Ocho is outstanding! Service was perfect and everyone was so nice. And the food is excellent, as are the margaritas!
Not many option in the menu. Greasy chips for the guacamole and cebiche, seriously one could see the oil in the chips. Overly priced as well. The service was outstanding, everyone check on us regularly. I will try Calle Ocho one more time for brunch and take it from there. I have always loved them, in this new location they seem to have lost quality. Hoping they will reverse it
The new location is smaller and louder, but that may be because it's winter and the windows and garden are closed for the season. The service and food were great, as always.
This was our first time since the move to 106 street and I will say our service was horrible. The food was great and drinks amazing (2 new sangrias!) but our waiter was horrible. I honestly think he fell in love with my wife's friend because he was primarily talking to her the entire time. She asked for a ginger ale and his response was you come here and not drink what is wrong with you. When she finally wanted a drink he told her no I will bring you something good and proceeded to give her what he thought she wanted. On top of this whenever my wife or I ordered something he would come back to the table multiple times to ask what we wanted because he forgot all the while bringing my wife's friend drinks she did not want nor care for. You got us for Happy Hour because we love you drinks but unfortunately, we will no longer come for anything other than that.
Been going to Calle Ocho in all its location. Their service and food never fails.
Calle Ocho moved into our neighborhood recently and there was none of the disorganization of a new establishment. The staff could not have been friendlier or more attentive and the food was delicious. There is a festive atmosphere without it feeling overbearing. We will be making this a regular stop.
Worst service. I have been to the first location many times for brunches and happy hours. I convinced my colleagues to take the trip to this new location, and the service was so bad. We were rushed the entire time, the server kept taking our food and drinks away and honestly I am not quite clear how this experience is customer service oriented or inviting at all. We felt unwelcomed and forced to leave, and I will never make the suggestion to try this place again to anyone.
Me and my wife LOVE this restaurant. I’ll be back for Valentines
At the present moment, I will not recommend Calle Ocho to a friend. I would advise them to maybe wait for Springtime, to give the restaurant some time to get the menu items figured out. Also, it can feel a bit tight in the location, once the patio and front seating opens it should feel better. The food was not Calle Ocho quality in my opinion, there was no bread and the muffins were rock hard. I got the eggs benedict, and the bread was used instead of the English muffin, you would think they would cut this in half but they basically flatten the bread and it was VERY hard. I asked for a steak knife and it was still hard to cut through it.
Excellent sangria, food and service. The ceviche and paellas were wonderful. Enjoyed the Cuban Espresso to finish the meal. Servers were all professional, friendly, and knowledgeable.
Amazing welcome, attention, food and service. Warm, welcoming and fun!
One of the owners, Francine, clearly demonstrated what it takes to run a successful restaurant. On a busy, busy night she was on top of everything. The food, service, and hospitality were outstanding.. She treated us like old friend - very accommodating and generous. We will be back. Great restaurant.
Very good food. Service was excellent, and very attentive without being on top of us. Nice size portions. Very lively. Owner on the spot, appreciate their attention.
Wonderful to have this restaurant in the neighborhood. At first, the service seemed a little rushed, and we were a little uncomfortable. But that faded. It's the reason for a 4 instead of a 5. Food was terrific, though maybe a little $$ for the neighborhood. It won't stop me from going back. The guacamole appetizer is one of the best I've ever had, and all the entrees were delicious: branzino; skirt steak; salmon and ribs. The courtesy warm fresh, slightly sweet bread plate with black bean spread is wonderful.
So glad you are back! We missed you
Great vibes !! The ceviche was delicious
If you order Paella it’s good for 2 . Mojitos are strong the way we love it .
Excellent food very good service the waitstaff are on point very friendly knowledgeable and the food was delicious. It was a bit nosy but other than that we will definitely come back.
Although the new location is smaller they still capture the same vibe I felt when I came to Calle Ocho’s original restaurant. The food - amazing as always. So glad it’s back in business.
Such a great addition to the neighborhood. Great food and upbeat atmosphere. Fun for dinner or drinks.
A bit pricey for the neighborhood. Servers were aggressive by offering to remove plates before we were finished.
Yes,great place for dinner and drinks love that it locate on Broadway I’ll be back valentine day. Thanks
