Fabulous food but the prices for pasta dishes are very high in particular the ones with no meat or fish
Great wine recommendation. Authentic pasta, well selected ingredients, tasty. Attentive, friendly staff. Pouring wine sometimes a challenge. My favorite after work dinner place.
Capricci continues to serve amazing food and the possibility to chose wine from the display is a real plus for me.
I felt the pasta dishes were a bit over truffled. The tortellini amazing the tagliatelle outstanding but the Cacio e Pepe with truffles just didn’t work for me.
I’ll be back and I’m just grateful I don’t live nearby or I’d overuse it and be bored with it.
We go to Capricci's when we want a spectacular experience. It is out Italian go to place. You won't be disappointed. Straight from Naples!
We love to eat here and wish there was somewhere like it where we live.( We only come to London two or three times a year.) The service is swift and friendly and the food is delicious. We come before going to the Globe and like that we are able to eat early and talk without competing with over amplified music.
Pleasant restaurant, pleasant service. Food ok but very expensive. House wine very expensive and very poor.
Excellent lunch in good atmosphere - as it is a wine shop as well and does take away. Lovely staff and pasta v delicious. Will visit again.
Capricci is a real taste of Italy. They follow the great Italian tradition of producing excellent food by selecting first class ingredients. The wine list is reasonably priced. Sitting in what feels like a shop takes a moment to get used to but quickly becomes part of the fun. Staff are knowledgeable and enthusiastic without being over attentive.
Authentic non chain Italian, good rustic food and friendly staff.
Great Deli/Restaurant, delicious food, excellent wine and friendly service. Mille grazie Capricci!
We had a really enjoyable evening here. Delicious food and great service.
Brilliant spot fir intimate lunch. Very creative food and lovely staff and chef! Would highly recommend
Capriccis never disappointments. It is as authentic as it gets. Great place. We return often.
Outstanding delicious authentic Italian food using freshly cooked to a very high standard - this is a real gem - would highly recommend
Very close to Tate Modern. Good food and wine.
Pasta dishes were excellent. Service was very good. They have a large selection of wine too. The lemon cake dessert was not good / very dry, but we did not complain, so in fairness, we should have asked for something else. Overall it was very good and we would recommend to others for a couples night out.
*Not Good*. Some of the dishes were great, but others were outright inedible. If you can’t afford to take the risk of an inedible meal, this is not the place for you.
Excellent authentic Italian food. Service friendly, helpful and efficient. A little cramped but this didn't detract from the dining experience as it was compensated by the first class food. Menu isn't too large or complicated which is always a good sign and proved to be excellent. The Bacalao with broccoli was delicious, as was the pasta with duck ragu. Great choice for an enjoyable meal.
As usual food, service quality are great and felt welcomed
This is the first Italian restaurant I have ever visited (in the UK or in Italy) at which the service was not friendly. The men serving seemed totally indifferent to their customers.
The food was very good, but overpriced for what it is, and the wine is priced extortionately. Next time I'll go to Carluccio's around the corner, where the food is almost as good and the bill is about half the price of Capricci's.
Friendly service, great food. Would visit again!
Delicious and fresh with excellent service. Always a favourite when we are in the area
Great little gem. Good prices, food is outstanding and staff were very friendly and helpful
This is a lovely small enoteca with an authentic Italian ambiance and friendly staff in an excellent location behind the Tate Modern. All ingredients and the pasta are fresh, and the wine list is excellent. So what could go wrong? The chef doesn’t seem to know how to put the ingredients together. Prawns with cheese?! Vinegary flavourless mushrooms, too salty gorgonzola sauce. Rubbery pasta. Undercooked guanciale is just gristly lumps of fat. For half the price I would be sending private feedback, but this was nearly £40 per person.
Restaurant chose NOT to tell me before sitting down to a business lunch that its credit card machine doesn't work. Only when the bill was produced restaurant told me that it'd only accept cash and that there's an ATM machine a block away. Luckily I had cash. If I didn't, I was to run out to a cash machine to get cash and run back leaving my clients sitting there waiting for me to return with cash. Extremely inconsiderate.
Dear Ken, Unfortunately the card machine network went down during service and we told you as soon as we figured it out. Therefore I don't think you should write such a review for a network problem which happened to hundreds of restaurant at the same time and which is usually extremely rare.
Delicious, authentic Italian food. So much better than any Italian chain! Very close to Tate Modern too!
Great food great service as always.
Delicious pasta and gorgeous wines set in an authentic deli opposite the Tate Modern. Whats not to love?
Tasty Italian food in a cosy restaurant. They had run out of a few things which was a shame but all the food we had was very good.
Our favourite hidden gem! We keep returning back and continue to enjoy it :)
The food was absolutely amazing- real authentic Italian cooking. Full marks.
We are sorry that we do not live in Southwark -we love eating here. The staff are helpful and cheerful and the food is delicious.
Tasty Italian food and drink in a pleasant restaurant with good service. A nice meal out.
I've walked past this little place many times on the way to Tate Modern, it looks like a casual coffee place, but don't be fooled! Decided to try it the other night as I wanted an early dinner. Was blown away - excellent food and really friendly service from an all Italian team. I had burratina with tomatoes as a starter - the burratina was as creamy as you could get, the tomatoes were really ripe and sweet, and the balsamic vinegar was top class. And it wasn't served too cold, the way such salads often are in London. I followed up with spinach and ricotta ravioli with a fresh cherry tomato sauce - again all top quality ingredients, very well prepared. I just had a glass of the house white, which was excellent. You can tell they care about their wines from the excellent range of Italian wines on display.
Service was quite poor, even though I was quite early for lunch and only 3-4 tables were occupied, it took ca 15 minutes to get food ordered. But once ordered the food arrived quickly. The starter (pear/rocket/grand padana salad) was nice, but served in a deep bowl and the knife was so blunt that it was very difficult to cut the pear. The wild mushroom pasta tasted nice, but there was too much pasta and too little mushrooms. No ice in carafe of water despite +30C weather. Not very memorable experience, overpriced for £30 (including service)
delightful food, setting and location. The service was friednly and helpful. excellent all round.
Good tasty informal Italian food but nothing spectacular at a slightly too high a price to call it great value.
Good food, short but well-executed menu, authentic, handy location, very small inside (just a few tables), service a bit perfunctory.
