   Unfortunately the couple sitting next to us was very loud. The woman’s voice projected so loudly that we had problems carrying the conversation at our table.

   Our server was excellent and after reading raving reviews we had expected the food would great. Unfortunately it wasn't quite to par. The Caesar Salad was good, interesting to have tomatoes and cucumber but good dressing, We ordered the Bolognese and it was basically marina with two meatballs. There was no meat in the sauce and it definitely was NOT bolognese sauce. Again our server was great!

   We were in town and thought we would check this restaurant out based upon the Yelp ratings/reviews. It is very busy, so you need to make a reservation. The wait staff is very nice and attentive and they hustle taking care of the customers. The food was unfortunately rather mediocre. While it’s great the entrees come with a house salad, it had way too much dressing. In addition while the lettuce leaves were very dark green (which is terrific) there’s barely anything else included (one tiny grape tomato and 2 tiny pieces of cucumber). I had a shrimp dish with linguine, spinach, mushrooms, and tomatoes. The pasta was way over cooked and the sauce just didn’t have much flavor. The other person had a carbonara linguine and shrimp dish, and he had similar feedback. They bring bread with the salads, but it was cold and tasted like store bought white bread (a nice warm crusted bread/baguette) would be much better. Anyway we were not impressed and wouldn’t come back next time we are in town.

We're sorry to hear it did not meet your expectations and we will definitely report back your feedback on the dressing. Our bread is not store bought, in fact it is made daily in our bakery next door. We are extremely disappointed to hear your commentary on flavor as your feedback is extremely unusual.

    Fantastic food, amazing service. Wait was a bit long even with reservation, but I suspect that wouldn't have been the case of it weren't so close to a holiday. Very lound and packed, but for the same reason, Valentine's day. Food was 100% worth the wait, and once we were seated, service was so good and fast it was shocking considering the crowd. Bit pricey, but more than worth it.

    My husband and I dined here for Valentine’s Day, we’d never been before and were excited to try somewhere new… the food was amazing! Everything we had was delicious, but that was basically the only good part of the whole experience. We had a 630 reservation, but it was almost 7 before we actually got seated and from there we felt like we were being rushed through our entire dinner. We were in the bar area and the bartender seemed to know everyone else sitting in there so she was being very friendly to everyone but us. She took our drink order but then we didn’t receive those for probably close to 10 minutes later and then she was all about asking if we were ready to order dinner.. not asking about appetizers or anything. We placed our order and then waited forever before she even brought the bread and salads. Once our entree was served, we never really saw her again. We weren’t even half way through our entree, when she brought over the check and by then we were both annoyed so we asked for boxes and just took the rest of our food home. We’d have liked to have tried dessert but were never given the option to even consider it. So overall, it was definitely a crap experience for us. If it wasn’t for the food being so good, we’d prolly never return but the food makes it worth giving it a second chance.

    We tried 3 appetizers and they were all delicious. It was the bruschetta, stuffed mushrooms and the cheese sticks. Then I had the spinach ravioli and my daughter had the lobster ravioli. We both enjoyed our meals very much. Our server Kaitlin was awesome! We cannot wait to go back so we can try something else.

    I was extremely disappointed in the Lasagna. Noodles were overcooked and the marinara sauce was bland. Would not recommend this dish. Others at the table had salmon and found it to be very good and flavorful.

    Food was very good. Lasagna made with thin homemade pasta the likes I hadn't had since being in Rome! Service was friendly and attentive without being intrusive. I'll be back!

    My husband and I have had our celebratory anniversary dinner at Carmela’s for the last few years and everything has always been perfect. The atmosphere is cozy and unique. It makes you feel like you’re in Italy. The food is simply fantastic. The appetizers are excellent and the desserts are to die for. The staff is always helpful and polite. Everything about this place is pleasant. My favorite appetizer is the bruschetta… entree is the lobster ravioli and dessert the chocolate bomba. I highly recommend you try those if u haven’t.

    Everything was outstanding. Excellent service and great food. Our server was knowledgeable and clearly loves working at this family restaurant! We loved the arancini and mozzarella sticks. I could’ve eaten the marinara sauce with a spoon it was that good. We had Lasagna, Perch, and Pasta Romana all of which were beyond excellent and prepared perfectly. Ended the night with espresso martinis and the chocolate bomba for dessert! This place is a South Bend staple, go here!!!

    The food was delicious and the atmosphere was amazing. The mozzarella was crunchy and looked hand rolled. No pre-made sticks! I had the Chicken Piccata. It was the best I ever had. The noodles underneath were just right and the chicken was so flavorful. My husband had the meat lasagna. He says it was delicious. I highly recommend this restaurant. We will definitely go back if in the area again.
