    A great server helps enhance a meal. Guillermo was terrific and guided us to the best choices, explaining specials and checking on us frequently. The dining room is perched above the beach so the view was great especially the sunset. I love a ricotta cheesecake and theirs was wonderful. The food items actually varied from very good to excellent but the service and ambience made everything taste better.

    Catch is located with a perfect view of the beach. We arrived in time to watch the sunset while enjoying our first course of Iberico de Bellota ham on cristal bread - amazing. I am still thinking about that plate a day later. They also offer a delicate, delicious fish of the day but you can also chose steak, chicken, pasta…etc. There’s a large cocktail menu that includes wines and beers. The view, the beautiful building and the easy valet parking make Catch one of my favorite restaurants in town.

    We loved Guillermo's energy and recommendations - he was spot on and we thoroughly enjoyed our meal and experience. We will definitely be returning to Catch.

    Fantastic dinner with fantastic help. We enjoyed a seafood platter which was a little over price and we had a new dish which was a Mediterranean sea bass baked in salt. The Seabass was fantastic.

    I think they just had a lot going on that night so our service was really slow but the waitress was delightful and tried very hard to step up a bit for us. We also never got our to go order of dessert because I think she got busy again or may have forgotten so we just left without it.

    So disappointed. Room empty at 7:30 week of Thanksgiving. No atmosphere. Service competent but lackluster. Food was mediocre; to be kind. Being expensive and in prime location made us all the more surprised and displeased.

    Absolutely superb cuisine at Catch! Gorgeous location -- especially at sunset -- at the beautiful Casa Del Mar hotel. Quite expensive, but portions are generous. Roasted branzino on a bed of crab meat is a MUST. This is definitely a special-occasion restaurant, but it will be worth the splurge.

    Let's start with the strong points: An amazing ambiance - beautiful, amazing curved staircase leading to an elegant lounge, opening to the restaurant with sweeping sea views. The service was friendly and thoughtful. The food was between fair and good; I relished the salmon tartare appetizer, the beef rib entree was good, but the mashed potato accompaniment it rested upon was room temperature. The dessert brownie was all sugar and no chocolate - I had to stop at 3 bites trying to find the chocolate flavor. Betty Crocker brownies would have been much better. The ending was such a letdown - I was quietly hoping the meal would come back to the higher culinary note we enjoyed with the appetizer instead of sinking further. As for value: the ice teas were 7 dollars apiece, and the coffee was 6. With tax and tip, even with the Dine LA offer, it came to almost $100 a person. At that price range, I expect good to excellent food across all courses. I have such mixed feelings about the place - I would like to go back to the lounge for the ambiance but am a bit hesitant about the restaurant. That is to say, to spend that kind of money on a meal which would leave me underwhelmed.

    The service and ambiance were excellent but the food was nothing special and given the price was disappointing. Had the ham salad and salmon tartar to start and both were not good. The salad had no dressing it was just cured ham on baby greens and the salmon tartar was almost slimy in consistency.

    The food was ok but not worth the price. $25 for 6 oysters and they were meh. Do not get the tiramisu is was horrible we didn’t even eat half of it! Would not recommend this place!
