   Cavatina is a wonderful restaurant. The ambience is lovely, the staff is excellent, and the food is so delicious. I stayed at the Sunset Marquis for business and had several meals/meetings at Cavatina and there's not one meal or item on the menu that wasn't excellent. Highly recommend.

   It is a nice looking space, but the service was bad and the food was mediocre. If the prices were not so high it would make sense, but it's overpriced for what you get. Maybe an off night, but our waiter ignored us our drinks didn't come until after the entre arrived.

   It had been 4 years since we last dined at Cavatina. Previously, we ate there for their Easter and Mother’s Day brunches. The pandemic changed that but we still wanted to try them by ordering off their menu. As a party of 6 ( 2 children under 5) we had hoped that there would be a kid’s menu ; there wasn’t. The menu selection was fine with me but some in the party wanted a better variety and did not like having to order sides for every breakfast item. For example, the $19 pancakes were just 3 pancakes, if you wanted bacon, eggs and/or potatoes that would be separate sides. The kitchen and server failed in bringing out our order. One order came out and 10 min later the rest came. Which meant that the diner waited to eat with the rest of the party (making their good cold) or eat while the rest of the party waited for their food. Which would not have been an issue if the order that came first was for the children-even after I alerted our waitress, she offered a halfhearted apology; still we waited. When the food finally arrived, it was still missing items. The pancakes (2 orders) did not come with their sides -again we had to inform them. My order was the French toast with vanilla whipping cream, my plate did not include the whipping cream instead they gave me syrup; not what I wanted or ordered. Again I had to wait and even when it came out, it was as if I was asking for something different than what the menu stated. I’m told that the flat iron steak was delicious, as was the eggs Benedict over blue crab. I would have accepted the deficiencies if the restaurant was busy; it wasn’t. There were plenty of empty tables and there was plenty staff. The waitress just didn’t pay attention to how the plates were delivered. It was quite obvious if a table of 6 ordered food and after 5-10 minutes only 1 plate was brought out, she should have initiated contact instead of me having to get her attention. Secondly, the sides should not have to be asked for either.

    Took my wife here for Mother’s Day: it’s a hidden gem off the strip. Iconic photography is displayed all over the property, very cool history to the place (if you are into that sort of thing). Food was excellent, maybe a little pricey (not overly so for this area), service was great as well. Be sure to hit the gallery on your way out (Morrison Hotel), and the bar does live music on Tuesday nights. We’ll definitely be back.

    My husband and I decided to celebrate our Anniversary by dining and trying the tasting menu-- which did not disappoint. All of the food that came out were delicious and definitely get the paired wine menu with it. It was great!!! The servers were extremely attentive but not over bearing. Loved that all the tables were nicely spaced so you can converse without hearing everyone's else's. I would definitely come back.

    since moving to LA in 2019, we have come here a few times. this is (well... was) one of my fav resturants in LA for date night. The prices are decent and over the past few years it has had some of my most memorable bites (octopus Carpaccio) and probably the best desserts we've had (that dang Pavlova last year blew me and my wife away.. bite after bite was just like discovering a new thing) But this time, it felt like the management has changed, and overall, the food was good; but nothing as memorable. especially in appetizers and desserts. Although I had the fillet steak as main and it was really really good. we would definitely keep an eye on the menu and see how it updates for the next time we come :) forgot to mention, the staff was great. the location is also great.

    I came here to treat myself to lunch on what has now become a commonplace rainy day. The patio outside in the garden was covered and beautiful! Attentive but not bothersome staff, incredible food, tasty drink selection. Ditto with everyone who says to get the chocolate chip cookies. They are unreal. Salmon tartare is great. Bucatini is the only pasta I’ve had in LA that actually is spicy. Points for delivery. I can see the noise level rising exponentially depending on when you go. Valet is $10 validated

    I had a lunch with my husband on Sunday. Generally speaking, this place is outstanding and very atmospheric, it is located inside of the famous hotel in beautiful garden with small pond. However, one detail has impaired all experience, in particular, it was a hosting person John. From my point of view a host(ess) should be the most happy and welcoming person, whereas this guy was incredibly rude and instead of finding compromise in our issue (I asked to move a heater close to me) he raised his voice. When I asked his name at the end, he screamed that I was recording him on the phone and panicked. I showed my phone, I did nothing, but he continued to hysteria. That was ridiculous. Firstly, this is not customer-oriented behavior at all, and secondly, men usually don’t tend to be so emotional! To summarize, this is undoubtedly a remarkable place, but I’m not quite sure that I will return and recommend it. Because of this John! Unfortunately the little negative thing might spoil significantly the overall positive impression. Needless to say that the rest of the staff were very helpful and polite. Menu has a variety of option and food was great.

    My daughter has lethal allergies to soy, nuts, and wheat so she cannot dine at any restaurants and we bring her own food. We should put a note in the system (Open Table) which the restaurant acknowledged seeing. The manager (Mario?) of the restaurant was extremely difficult about it, claimed to make an exception and then harassed us for a doctor’s note at several occasions during the dinner including on our way out and asked that we give our number to someone (no idea who it was) to follow-up. We were a party of 6 and one 12 year old did not dine. I got to Cavatina regularly and I have no idea what the issue was (loss in payment, some unfathomable liability issue, something else?) It’s somehow never an issue anywhere else in LA… This is the very first time I take the time to provide feedback and this is very disappointing!

    This was our third time at Cavatina for a lunch celebration. The food was delicious as always, and the service was perfect. The ambience is very Zen and conducive to conversation. Plus, the hotel has a lot of cool photos of rock stars and other music industry icons. We came a little bit later this time at 2:45 and the menu was not the menu that we remembered from last time. Just know that the menu changes after 2:00 pm and is somewhat more limited but still very good. You must try the warm chocolate chip cookies. Amazing!
