Nice experience and service

The food was OK, the portions weren't great. We were never asked if we wanted a second drink, and then when we paid our bill and stayed for another 20 minutes talking we were never offered any more water. The place was half full so shouldn't have been a big deal to offer some water. No one in the party was happy with their food.

Great experience overall! great burgers and friendly staff!

Cavu was a nice place for two couples to meet for dinner before going to a play at the Gateway. All the staff were very friendly and helpful, and the food was very nice - we ordered burgers, a steak, and pasta. Our reservation was for 6:00, and we had plenty of time to walk over to the theatre after we paid the bill. The standard prices are a little high, but Cavu is in the Entertainment Book.

Waited 90 for a burger and was told it was because they only had 3 cooks. It was Saturday night. I could cook a burger in 10 mins. Would go to Burger King next time. Left before the food arrived. Very bad experience

Extremely slow services, took them half hour to give us tasteless mussels; another half hour for hard/ chewy/ tasteless/ small piece lamb shank (I need to ask for steak knife to cut it); thick batter/ old oil taste fries and fish; tasteless cheap quality New York steak; I need to walked to bar to ask for help. Our waitress was too busy chatting our customers. I saw 6 customers were mad and left, who finished their wine, because of their food never come. We won't go there again. We Cannot believe hotel's restaurant can be that worst.

The service was good but the pork belly was a bit dry for us. My friend had to use hot sauce to help with the moisture and taste. Presentation was very nice though.

The fire alarm kept going off. So loud and constant. I would have expected a discount on our bill for the discomfort

Dine out Vancouver menu was just excellent

Went for dine out. Really good selections and tasted great! Also ordered Mac and cheese bites, they were a bit on the dry side though.

New year dinner

Expectations very much surpassed! My friend and ai were hunting a nice dinner spot and were delighted by the food, drink, and service provided by Cavu. Our server Ash and the other staff members were so lovely and really completed the experience. Thanks again!

Professional and polite service which was attentive yet not intrusive, keeping us comfortable over a long meal. A perfect setting for genuine conversation, especially at the round table in a private nook.

Songs by Nikita Alfonso turned our evening into a perfect experience to celebrate my wife’s birthday. We were told that Nikita sings here every Thursday and Saturday. Our party of six had different burgers, the favorite at our table was the chicken. The french onion soup was not a good choice. The servers are nice and efficient.

Excellent menu and food is well prepared. Excellent service. Burgers are a must!

Great new menu items!

Food was good, not fantastic, but the service was very slow. No one in the restaurant and yet we seemed to be forgotten and food took forever. A bit pricey for what we got.

Got our table right away, servers were very attentive, food and prices were good. Our soup was very spicy which was the only negative. Rest was awesome!!

Good food but terrible service. They have an excellent selection of gourmet burgers and we were excited to try them. Sadly it took 30 minutes for the supervisor who seated us to take our order and another 30 for our burgers to arrive. Please note that it wasn't busy when we got there for our 1:30pm reservations, nor 30 minutes after we were seated, so I'm not sure why the service was so painfully slow. When I stated to our server that the service was so slow, he refused to acknowledge the facts, instead he smuggly retorted 'good food is worth the wait'. So long story short, if you have plenty of time then by all means try their burgers.

Server took a long time to serve me. Although I arrived in time for happy hour, she ignored me until 6pm, and then she offered to get me "started" with water. It was not a very busy in the restaurant so this was strange. The dishes were good portion sizes and seasoned well, but for the cost, I wouldn't particularly recommend anything. We were there specifically for the mac and cheese burger for burger week. I wished it was a little more cheesey, but the crispiness of the deep fried mac and cheese was good. They offer some deep fried mac and cheese bites, this might have been a better dish. Overall, a very neutral eating experience.

Without using a discount coupon from the Entertainment book I would feel very disappointed in what I got for the money. As it was, the meat in the burger was good but the side salad was very average. I prefer an A&W or McDonalds deluxe burger to what I got from a place that touts great burgers. Service was perfect though.

They cancelled our reservation last minute. We were gonna go there for mother’s day. It was really disappointing.

Tables are way too close together, service was VERY slow, waiter never came back to checkup on us when the food did finally come.

Thomas was an excellent server becoming 'part' of our family quickly! The food took a fairly long time and was enjoyed by all. There was a very large and extremely 'energetic' (to coin your phrase) crowd. I would definitely recommend the Cavu to others.

Great ambiance and attentive service! Wide menu varieties to accommodate our dietary preferences. I love that it got many vegetarian/vegan options such as Beyond Burger, and lentil Ragu etc. It's a great value for the level of service and the food presentation. It definitely exceeds our expectation of a hotel restaurant in Richmond, and we will definitely return in the future.

Food pairing for the dine-out festival was awful. Why would you have mac & cheese as appetizer - appetizers are supposed to tease your appetite, not stuff you before you have your main course. Then the entree also contained pasta? I know I could have chosen other dishes but I did not know the extent of the pasta. The description of the menu items sounded heavenly but did not match the food served. The pork was ok - nothing special. The fish was actually fishy. And pairing fish with gnocchi pasta was not right. Also, no bread was served. The live music was way too loud for the dining area. We breathed a sign of relief when the singer took her break. There needs to be sound absorption in the dining area or dividers between the bar area and the dining room. When the server did not replace our utensils used for the appetizers, leaving them for our entrees, we knew what kind of restaurant this is. We will not return.

The foods were really good. My husband and I ordered DINE OUT VANCOUVER menu ($15). The seafood soup (feature soup the day) was really good. For mains, I ordered Fried Chicken and my husband ordered BLT sandwich. They were pretty good. My dessert was just ok. My husband ordered gelato. It was tasty, but they brought everything together, so he had to eat dessert first. The waitress forgot water and took too much time for processing the bill.

Omer provided very good service. Good choice of gluten free options. Onion rings came out cold and Omer removed them from our bill

Went to Cavu for Dine Out 2019 twice in one week. First visit was spectacular from start to finish with an amazing meal and superb service from Matthew. He was very informative, helpful and great to talk to. Excellent service. The Brussels sprouts and Mac and Cheese applies were divine as well as their fried Chicken and pecan tart al la mode. The entire experience was just top notch amazing! As a result we could not wait to go back so we booked again 3 days later.

What a disappointment on our second visit. We were expecting the same degree of dining experience as 3 days ago. Service was not as good. Meghan was our server who could have been more attentive, was on the slower side, and told us she was too busy with a big table to check on us. She’s better off not to say anything. My rockfish entree was bland and a bit over cooked. Did not enjoy our second meal there. Our server only perked up with conversation when it was time to process payment.

Was not impressed. Should have more consistency with service skills between servers . Haven’t decided whether I will go back.

The waitress is very nice and polite. They offer one hour free parking but we have been waiting our food over 30 mins. It is only during weekday lunch time there are only few tables. The food is delicious but we thought three course meal (dine out Van) will serve one by one but in fact they put all three course in one plate so it feels like eating at the food court but with the appetizer and dessert. However it was a great lunch experience with the nice ambiance.

The most memorable part of the night was the waiter, named Thomas. He was very attentive to our needs and checked up regularly to make sure we were comfortable. Although a glass of water turned out to have a piece of hair, that didn't ruin our night and Thomas quickly changed our waters right away.

is my first time trying out the dine out lunch at Cavu, to my surprise the meal was really good and for 15.00 i could not ask for more, will go there again to give it a second try with different friend of my,
the pumpkin soup was so delicious, i have the Roast turkey club, quite a big portion , love the toasted sourdough with roasted turkey breast, smoked bacon , lettuce ,tomato and mayo and the dessert is Pot de creme was so yummy, my daughter had the Avocado toast with roasted peppers, heirloon tomato with goats cheese,arugula with balsamic and grilled herb flat bread was so yummy

Loved it! It was our first time and I thought the food was delicious! We look forward to coming back and also experiencing the live night performances and try happy hour :)

Food wasn't great compared the value on dine out event. Slow services.

Lunch for 2. Was first surprised how very view guests but we enjoyed the quiet. We are both short - chairs far too deep to sit comfortably at table but we asked and were given pillows for our backs. Service was attentive until after we finished and then no one to take our money. We both had salads. They were ok - but heavy on mixed greens and not well dressed - pool of vinegar at the bottom of my bowl. Can’t really recommend.

i went there twice.... good foods and service.... quiet place.....
