Good food and service

Took my wife here for our anniversary and ended up being so dissapointed. Only thing good was the friendly service. food was stone cold despite waiting for 30 minuites. not worth the price nor the time.

The main restaurant is closed. So you are being seated in the lounge area.
We were there to celebrate the important occasion and did not expect to be seated in the lounge area. By the way the prices are still the same as before ($$$)

As we were welcomed to this restaurant on many occasions, this time was as perfect as all the other times. Attention to every single detail and upmost professionalism from each and every person we encountered during our dining experience. Thank you for going above and beyond to keep yourselves and your guests safe.

Well I booked a reservation for an anniversary, with a special request. All confirmed. And when we arrive we find out the main dining area was closed. Only to go to the lounge and get told to sit wherever we want. Not confirming I had a special event planned. It was not very accommodating. When you want a semi private romantic table and get told to sit where is available a high top in the middle of the lounge is not ideal. Food was decent. Servers were nice despite the bartender at the time barking orders for us to just sit somewhere. When I was trying to discuss that I had a reservation. Overall frustrating night.

Even though the dining room is closed, the bar has good seating. Delicious meal again and great service! Thanks Andy & team!

I just want to express my sincerest gratitude to the staff of Chopsteakhouse Richmond for their act of kindness and generosity. You have lifted our spirits up during this difficult time. You have shown us kindness in your own way and it feels like you were an instrument telling us there will be better days ahead. The staff and the manager who we forgot to ask for his name, provided amazing service. The food was excellent. Again, thank you. We'll definitely be back to taste your signature primerib.

Went on NY eve....put in a corner, mirrors were dirty, high top table with swivel seats, no other options

The 20oz rib eye was fantastic!! Perfectly seasoned and very tender.. although it was ordered medium it did come medium rare,but I think that just enhanced the flavor of the meat.
The prime rib was of good quality, but cold when served to the table.. I asked to have it reheated & not to go to any big trouble.. they ended up pouring au jus over it, which kind of ruined the taste of the meat.
We enjoyed 3 appetizers 2 of which were only $7...french onion soup, iceberg lettuce salad with a chunky blue cheese dressing ( both were fabulous!), and mushroom escargot, which was unremarkable.
The desert trio was nice!
Service was quite good, esp it being New Year's Eve.
Ambiance is very plain.

Chop is a nice place to go for a special dinner. Quite expensive and disappointed that we didn't get a bread basket with our meal.

If your looking for a choice steak Chop is better than the Keg hands down.
Love the bread basket and option to add soup or salad to start off your meal. The tomato soup was next level.

Awesome service, delicious food!

Food was good but steak could have been a little bit hotter but was cooked perfectly I thought the table seating and access was a bit cramped not six feet apart too many people too close to my table

While Chop still remains one of our favourites, I believe today was just a bit of an off day. Drinks and appetizers were good, but wife's filet mignon was lukewarm and dry. I'm still disappointed that they smoke their rib eyes now, and a manager told me that I could ask if there would be a non smoked one but one was not available tonight. I ordered a smoked rib eye to try but it was dry and lukewarm too. We thought our steaks tasted alright, but Chop usually delivers better so we were hoping for a bit better tonight. However, it still is one of our favourite places so we will be back and we are sure it'll be better.

Please bring back your regular rib eye. Rib eye is a hard cut to find.

Amazing food, great atmosphere!

Nice steak and prime rye in Richmond, service was good

This was my first time sitting in the Lounge side as the restaurant side was closed due to COVID. It is definitely much noisier compared to the restaurant side but if you have elderly folks that like a quiet evening to have an intimate conversation, they may want to wait until the restaurant side is opened.
The staff indicated that it was a busy night and that the kitchen was backed up.
When we received our food at the table, it was already cold to the point that the usual nice fat on the prime rib had already turn white.
Service was excellent as they apologized and provide options on how to resolve the issues.
Our table wasn’t picky therefore we wanted or food to be heated but we were worried that when returning food such as meat to get heated up, it would be returned medium to well done when should be medium rare as 5e original order.
In this case, it turn out successful! Our food was returned to us heated and still how we liked it, medium rare. Great thing is that they claim that they don’t use microwave to heat up food, or at least the meat.
The server compensated us for the inconvenience which was definitely a nice gesture.
Overall experience was very positive!

The cocktails were awful, b it the food was okay. The atmosphere was very strange and we had to wait a long time for dessert and our bill.

Had a perfect first dinner in this restaurant! I couldn't get her name but the lady attending our table was very nice and attentive. Covid protocols are well followed while maintaining quality service, staff were organized and confident of their actions. The food were beyond their visual goodness- steaks were cooked per request, freshly served vegetables (salads & sides), and rich desserts. The restaurant had ambient lighting and perfect air-conditioning. Thank you for the birthday treat too! Surely will recommend.

Went for my birthday . Covid has really changed the ambiance of all restaurants however, this was a good experience. Steak and lobster was amazing as well as the oven roasted chicken.
Will def be going back!

Awesome food- New York steak and Steak and Lobster. Both steaks cooked and seasoned perfectly.
Waiter was friendly and attentive

The server was not welcoming at all, my friend is allergic to dairy and when we told her later after serving us she said she can’t read our minds to know our allergies 😏

The service was really bad. We had to wait 30 minutes just for our orders to be taken. We had to keep going out of the private room to get service and look for our waitress. It was really inconvenient and disappointing.

Love the food.. but service is lacklustre and at times horrible. Bad experience.

The dining area was fired to close because of Covid. We had our meal in the lounge which were very different in a good way. Service and food were excellent as usual.

I appreciated the opportunity to greatly social distance from others during our dining experience. We were placed in a large room with a large table with no one else. It was pleasant, safe and the service/food was very good. Highly recommend even during these difficult times. People need to be able to eat out in a safe environment to help those in the industry. Well done.

Excellent service from the staff at Chops. Consistently good food and service

The service was excellent. The appys’ were good. The main Picana wasn’t medium rare but tasty. The sides and the plates were lukewarm. Most places like the Keg, Elisa and Cactus. The plates and the food is warmer.

Overall satisfying experience

Great to be early enough for happy hour drinks and appies. Dinner was good but steak tough and a little overpriced in our opinion. Our server Danica was fabulous and very personable.

It was ok . Our server seemed to rush us out . We were still eating while she gave us the bill and brought out the debit machine . The wife’s steak was burnt . Besides that food was ok .
