Our server was excellent!
The best food was the minestrone. I am 100% Italian and have ordered Lasagna countless times at various restaurants. They offer an 8 layer Lasagna on menu. It came out in a sizzling skillet and looked like an enchilada. It was the WORST Lasagna that I ever experienced, especially one claiming to be 8? Layers. Lasagna should be at least 3 inches high with the firm ricotta visible. There was no ricotta to be seen. It was paper thin layers of lasagna noodles. It was a joke. It cost $21. I should have told them to take it back, but my shy husband gets embarrassed and I just didn’t want to hear him as it was our first night out to dinner in 2 months. We will never go back. It was terrible!
Great service and food. Would definitely go back.
I was referred by a friend and was very pleased with the experience. I got the risotto Diablo and absolutely loved it. Prices were very fair and staff was extremely attentive. The restaurant was extremely clean, something that is ver important these days :).
We had social distancing dining experience. All restaurants staff were extremely nice and had there masks on. Food was awesome Wine was also excellent.
Must of been an off night. Our group ordered the special offered to us, then to learn 15 min later it was no longer available. Ok , understood, reordered , and they forget one entree. Very uncomfortable for my guest and us. The meal was comped and dessert on the house.
Very good food, service and setting make for an enjoyable meal.
The experience was pretty good overall. One Big Big Problem is you might as well not make reservations. I wasn't alone at least 3 parties waited from 6:55(time that I arrived) until 7:40 for our 7:00 reservation. I might as well have just showed up and waited for a table as I would have been seated at approximately the same time. They admitted they will not turn down reservations even if they don't have have tables, they just make people wait. This 45 minute wait after making reservations dampened the entire experience. I probably won't go back because there are other better run establishments in the area with equal food selection and quality.
Love Sam and Joe always a great evening
My boyfriend and I love coming here to have date nights. We went recently (day after Valentine's Day) and ordered the shrimp appetizer which they forgot to bring out. We understood that they were super busy the day after Valentine's Day, so it didn't really bother us as much. Turned out, we didn't need the appetizers at all since we got filled up on everything else. The food was excellent and the waitress we had was very kind and apologized. The heart-shape ravioli was really good and their tiramisu is one of the best I've ever had! It pairs great with their cappuccinos. We will be returning again.
We were there for a birthday
While the restaurant was quite crowded we were never neglected.
Special menu for Valentines was still in effect the next day so I was mildly disappointed that something I was looking forward to having wasn’t on the menu but I was thrilled with what I did get.
Will definitely be back.
Overrated ..... it is an a strip mall off a busy byway.... the food was the best thing about this place.... service was abysmally slow and inattentive... atmosphere crowded and loud but tables crammed together --- the room in back had terrible lighting and a few tables right off the kitchen that were just insulting to sit at..... the bar area is attractive and vibrant, but this place is NOT worth the hype or the ratings.....
It was great, we stayed till the lights got turned off and the owner apologized and bought us lemon cello shots. It was a memorable time. Would highly recommend.
Everything was great, we’ve been a few times and will continue to go!
Had a reservation at 7:30. Arrived at 7:20. We were told that the table would be ready at 7:45. After waiting an hour and receiving no legitimate or promising updates, we left. What’s the point of a reservation?
The experience started off with the host trying to seat my party at the back of the restaurant near the restrooms. No No # 1. Then our server bring drinks to the table next to us who were seated 5 minutes after us and we placed our order first No No #2. From there things went down hill regarding service and my opinion about the restaurant bottom out. The sad thing I rave about the place to my friends but after Friday’s experience Ciao Bella has falling off the grid for my first choice to get Italian food. I am sure there are other places who appreciate their patrons.
A great Valentine’s Day with my wife. The spaghetti and meatballs were to die for. Will be returning with our daughter!
Service is outstanding. The food has always been great. Prices have gone up again but we don’t go there every night so it’s ok. It is crowded and it seems one too many tables in the dining area to make it feel a bit cramped.
Cozy, comfortable atmosphere. Good good, great service!
Excellent service and food. Bar area very loud.
Jesus was an excellent server. The food was delicious. Great experience!
Living in NWI for 1yr & stopped in for an “authentic Italian dinner”.
Right off, it was INSANELY loud on this Friday night! Almost to the point of leaving and feel packed like sardines at a smaller than average 4top. Seemed understaffed for such a critical day of the week.
After wiping up the spill from the exuberant water boy, we ordered bruschetta but the mozz seemed too uniform to be homemade.
My wife chose the whitefish and I the gnocchi with our daughter playing it conservative with a 12” pizza.
The bread was good except having to ask for it... and apparently the guy who brings the bread was supposed to ask us if we would like butter but failed to (as we found out from the waiter on our second requested round).
The whitefish entree was most likely the blandest fish my wife (I confirmed) had ever tasted with the only trace coming from the lemon she squeezed on it. The capers were lifeless and the skin didn’t appear to have ANY heat applied whatsoever. She, usually accepts a poor meal but on this occasion felt the need to refuse it. The replacement was the mushroom risotto which was rushed, turned out to be just as bland with what can only be described as pasty over-cooked arborio in a flat sauce.
My gnocchi was a B- The gnocchi themselves, although PLENTIFUL, were way too consistent in size and form (the “fork” marks) to be homemade. The sauce was the highlight. Could have used a little more but the flavor was OK.
My daughters pizza, pepperoni and black olive, barely fit on the table with the lack of bussing assistance from our waiter. The black olive was standard from a can and the pepperoni seemed lost on the limp slices.
Desert...my Cheesecake was pretty good, although the strawberry drizzle was a little on the runny side. The chocolate cake for my wife was dry, tasted like it had been cut hours before just waiting to plate.
We wanted to like Ciao Bella... but I doubt we will be back based on this experience.
Great bar and food.
Waiter forgot to serve us our soup
New Year’s Eve was a great time to experience this place. I’ve passed it many times and was even invited to stop in by owner but never would I have thought I’d been missing out on such a fantastic restaurant. I truly recommend and definitely going back soon. The food the service EVERYTHING was great
Due to it being New Years Eve I expected a wait but the service was horrible this night. We tried to check in to let the hostess know we were there but the two employees behind the booth continued to ignore me as I stood at the hostess booth. They would not make eye contact and I didn’t want to be rude by they purposely avoided any interaction with us. I was there for 20 minutes before someone behind me walked up and checked in. Then I let them know I had been also standing there for 20 minutes. Having worked in the restaurant business myself the proper thing to do was to greet me, check my name off and let me know the wait time. Never should they just ignore someone for that long. After being seated again we were not acknowledged by our server for 15 min. Then he brought drinks but then did not take our order for another 20 minutes. So all together we sat for 35 minutes before ordering. Food did come out quickly and delicious. So overall service was some of the worse I’ve ever had, however the food was fantastic.
I was so pleased that I chose to spend a NYE dinner at Ciao Bello. Our waiter was soooo pleasant and out meal was excellent
Great New Year’s Eve dinner
We had 745 reservations and did not get seated until almost 930 ! When I walked in to check in they told me they just stopped taking walk-ins . Why would you take walk-ins on the busiest day of the year, New Year’s Eve ?? They were seating people with bigger parties than mine with reservations after mine . We only had a party of 3 so we should not have waited that long regardless of what day it was. Needless to say I will not be back again . So disappointing !
Had reservations for NYE. Arrived to fine people waiting outside in the cold because there was no where for them to sit nor stand in the building. Waited an hour BEYOND our reservation for our table. Once seated, our server apologized and encouraged us to write a review about how the owner over booked the evening and capacity of the building. Truly an unfortunate night for patrons and the employees of the restaurant to have such stress thrown upon them by the hands and greed of the owner.
NYE - great seating
Great food always. Great service always. My one major issue is the locks on the unisex bathroom need to be repaired, or put a sign up that says you have to use the slider lock. I had a man walk in when I was using the bathroom, not the way I wanted to end my year!! I was humiliated.
food was good. seems like they could get rid of a few tables to make room to move and also need to fix the door lock for the mens room. they installed a bolt lock instead of fixing the handle lock. service was good. portions are on the smaller side for the price. with that being said i still would go back.
New options on menu. Seemed a little tight in seating between tables
Ciao Bella had no record of our 6pm reservation with Open Table. However a table was a available for our party of 4.
I ordered the special airline chicken breast with Marsala sauce. This was one of the specials of the day. When I received the order there was no sauce on the chicken. It was basically a baked chicken on 3 large pepper slices. We advised the waiter and he checked and agreed that the meal ordered was not what was described on the "special" menu. He said they were making up the sauce and it would be out soon. When I received the sauce it was lukewarm, placed in a soup bowl. It was like the color of chocolate milk. So I believe the kitchen staff basically made a roux and then added Marsala wine to it. Although the chicken breast itself was tender the sauce made the entire dish unappetizing.
The food was delicious and the portions were a nice size. The staff was wonderful. We will definitely go again.
Excellent service and wonderful food
The menu has changed recently and not for the better. They used to serve a side of pasta with dinners that we really enjoyed. Apparently they don't do that anymore. Our waitress looked at us like we were from another planet when I asked for the side of pasta. Now the dinners come with an overabundance of Potatoes. We come here very often, but will probably choose elsewhere the next time we have a taste for Italian. We were also seated in the back room which was very noisy.
