Lovely indoor space, as well as outside seating (although the latter can be a bit loud by the El tracks). Food was delicious and the service great. Relaxed, no-rush dining. A favorite neighborhood restaurant.

We had the best intimate dinner at Citrine! Loved the tall candles at the bar setting the mood + Matthew's thoughtful wine recommendations. The risotto and the pappardelle were top notch. We'll be back!

Citrine is one of our all time favorites. Great service, wonderful owner with his family assisting him in running/managing his two restaurants. The food is always good. We have nothing but great things to say about this place. We are especially fond of Stephan, who runs this place like a top. He is a natural: good with people, always watching to make sure everything is just right. We invited some people from Hinsdale to join us (they had never dined here) and they loved it. Another great eve at Citrine.

We ate on the patio and found the service to be perfect - gently attentive with a touch of funny. We ordered two appetizers which were delicious - the steak tartar and the burrata, split a good short rib entree, and greatly enjoyed our desserts - the carrot cake and baklava with a yummy pistachio ice cream. Overall made for a great date night.

We have been to Citrine a number of times; this visit was the best. Our server Gabby was amazing—attentive, friendly, and helpful ... an absolute delight. All of the service rocked. Our meals were exceptional; I loved my mushroom and ricotta ravioli with sweet pea puree, and my husband loved his veal scallopinni with a piccata sauce. A scrumptious dark chocolate torte with fresh raspberries was a delightful surprise for my birthday-boy spouse. The GTO cocktail (my favorite drink of theirs) was scrumptious, as always. The Citrine dining room is open, inviting, and comfortable. We look forward to returning soon.

I’m a long time fan of Citrine. But this experience was bad. Bottom line: service was excruciatingly slow. We were a table of two. Arrived at 5:30. Seated immediately. So far so good. Ordered minutes later. Great. App came out. Super. Twenty minutes after finishing app, salad comes out. Then about 20 minutes after salad is finished for main course. Now, here’s the fun part. Between finishing dinner and being able to pay, 45 minutes. All in, a two-plus-hour experience. I get that the restaurant was crowded. But that’s the restaurant’s problem to address! I won’t be returning.

This is not a review. I just wanted the restaurant to know that I really enjoyed the breakfast sandwich I ordered. I could only eat half of it, it was so filling. However, I became sick to my stomach right after & it lasted the entire day & evening. I’m kind of worried about coming back. My husband had no problem with his breakfast. He polished off the plate & had no stomach issues.

Went there for the first time this last Saturday. We were greeted and seated promptly. The waitress and other crew members were professional, very nice, and on top of their tasks. The food was great, and (I know everyone else mentions this as well) the Spanish octopus was to kill for. We also had white fish, steak, squid ink pasta, and halibut - everything was excellent - I mean, I had better dishes but still, I will come back here again anytime... In the end, the owner stopped by at our table and we had a little chit-chat which was a nice touch - overall it was a wonderful experience, and we will be back...

Dined at Citine before heading to a concert in the city. Very clean minimalistic space. Service from Joey was great! We started out with cocktails, an old fashioned for my husband and for me, a mezcal paloma (not on the cocktail menu). I had better palomas, although it did look pretty. The housemade lapinja bread was amazing. Don’t pass that by. My husband and I shared the NY strip steak tartare with an egg on top. Delicious and fresh! Needed a couple more pieces of the charred bread served with it. We also shared the Spanish octopus with haricot verts and crispy potatoes. Perfectly grilled and tender octopus, very tasty. So good! I’d come back to Citrine just for the lapinja and the octopus. I definitely recommend Citrine. Looking forward to another visit to try the entrées.

This is a gem. I was telling my friends that when I was a kid on the west side this used to be my favorite consignment shop. But now it’s my favorite Mediterranean-spot. Please try the Amish chicken it’s amazing.

We love Citrine. Nice atmosphere, wonderful food and great people that work there. This eve was no exception. If you go somewhere fairly often, people get to know you. When we first tried the restaurant we found the same thing. So nice. The family that owns it takes a lot of pride in everything they do. It really is a gem.

This was my family's first time at this restaurant and we were delighted! It had delicious food for all of us. My daughter who likes plain food loved the burger and fries. My husband had pork shank, which was amazing. I had the halibut special, which was tasty! For dessert, we enjoyed the carrot cake, chocolate lava cake with vanilla gelato, and baklava with pistachio gelato. They were each amazing! Our server was also the bartender. He was fantastic! I can't wait to return.

We quit coming before the pandemic as the service was not up to the level of the food.Three years later, Joey was a breath of fresh air but had too many tables to be five star service. The food was excellent but very slow to the table and needed seasoning as I am older and my taste buds are too🤣. We will be back and will recommend your restaurant based upon the fine cuisine.
