I made a reservation for Coco Club via OpenTable on a Friday night at 9pm. From the description online, I thought it was a speakeasy themed bar/club where you can hear live music on any given night and open til 4am. The club is supposed to be on the second level above another restaurant/bar. When we arrived, they had no idea what we were talking about or why we would have a reservation. From what we were able to surmise, the Coco Club is a banquet hall that they rent out for specific events. The staff didn't clarify that, they just said "we don't have any reservations for tonight" and allowed us to leave. It would have been in better taste to clarify the confusion and explain why the venue is listed on a website to book dinner reservations, and ask us to stay for dinner/drinks downstairs.
The atmosphere was great! Live music was a big plus and the service was awesome too! The drinks (martini sokyo) was the best thing there. The speak easy idea is super awesome too. Who knew this place would be in Brighton Park?
When I arrive there at first I thought I was at the wrong place. However when I walked upstairs I saw an amazing gorgeous room that I never could believe exist in a place like that. The field was completely different from the lower level. It was such a classy elegant place and I was blown away by what it is that was seen in by the musician and the service was outstanding. I just could not believe that there wasn't more people like it was one of the best kept secrets. Most certainly I will tell people about this place and will visit there again with no problem!!
