Great food and service but dinner for the 4 of us was $400.
Ambiance is great. Historic hotel. Value was very poor. Filet was $45 and was a little bigger than a silver dollar. Nothing with it except garnish. No bread before meal, either. Menu was very limited. Bottles of wine are 3 times what you would pay at a store. I understand, it would up to twice, but 3 times...eek! Much better options elsewhere.
We enjoyed a delicious beef tenderloin dinner at Costa Brava. We were seated well before our reservation time, and provided lots of recommendations by our server.
we had a good time, and we enjoyed the food. IT was a little dark but the environment was nice
The food was not very impressive. One person ordered grouper and it was over cooked. The manager came quickly and sent to get a new one but it took more than 15 min and everyone was done eating and they still charged it.
We were celebrating my birthday and had specified on reservation and told the server when arrived but they forgot to bring my dessert with candle
Service was good and setting was good.
They prepared a separate space for us, to celebrate my father birthday, very good customer service, very pleased with the food and the experience
Resturant called several times to confirm reservation which was fine. Pulled into valet park but valet said we would not be able to valet due to hotel being full. This would have been something they should have told us when they were confirming reservation. Had to drive around for 20 minutes to find parking. Food was ok but ordered the tenderloin medium rare and it came out well done. Waitress never came to ask how entrees were. Everything else was nice and good. Just disappointed. Have eaten here numerous times in the past to include the New Year’s Eve dinner and everything was wonderful. Probably will not go back after this experience.
One of the best restaurants in St. Augustine.
We highly recommend the lamb.
Superb service, top quality all the way around.
We enjoyed the food and the ambience, for the price of $90 we expected our entree portions to be larger, the char was very small but cooked perfect.
Great location, excellent food, and super service
I really reccomand
This was an incredible meal that hit all the notes for a phenomenal and low key Christmas dinner
Our server Connor was excellent he made our Christmas dinner experience feel just like we were at home. Everything was done just right.
Christmas Day Lunch:
Hadn’t been to Costa Brava in a while and was very disappointed by the ambiance and service.
The tables were bare, no tablecloths or nice place settings as usual and service was very, very slow.
Even though it was a fixed 3 course menu, the food was good but ruined by the service and ambiance.
Certainly not worth the $65.00 per person + drinks+ 20% gratuity!
The service lacked quality. The room we were in towards the back also lacked the decor of the rest of the restaurant -felt like we got shafted. The food was good but not worth it for the experience.
To celebrate Christmas, we made a dinner reservation. However, to make the reservation was an issue because I called with a month in advance and it was so difficult to get in touch with someone at the restaurant. When I finally reached someone they said that someone else was going to send me an email to confirm to reservation but I never received the email so a week before I was able to make the reservation online. After that we had a question and called the restaurant and again nobody answered and it was after 5pm. The day of the reservation the table was beautiful and the service was good but the food it was not what we expected. We expected more for such a nice place. The food was not even decorated and It was too simple. We have been in very good hotels like Faena in south beach and we can tell the difference between a good meal and a regular not so great meal. We had a good time but the food could have been better.
Great ambiance and Piano Man was fantastic. Prefix menu was very disappointing. Entrée prep was poor. Fish had a strong odor, tenderloin over cooked and dry and scallops were poorly seasoned and only had 3 on the plate. For a $90/ person prefix menu it was disappointing. Water glasses smelled like dirty dishwater. We had bottled water no ice so the smell was from the glasses. This has historically been a great restaurant and have eaten fantastic meals there. Second time within a month we have had a poor experience.
Took my family for Christmas eve early dinner
Only offered lunch menu which contradicts the call we made to verify.... took 25 minutes to get drinks and an hour for lunch items.... most horrible experience ever for a holiday event.... restaurant manager totally rude
Totally sad as we all came to st Augustine from tampa
Really believed that Marriott was above such horrible times as we are Marriott members... not sure why
It was a very good time!!! My waitress was amazing and very friendly with my four paw daughter. Yesss, you can bring your dog and is very welcome. Food was delicious!!! Highly recommend
Simply magical! Celebrated a pre Christmas dinner with family. Everything was absolutely perfect!
My steak was phenomenal but the vegetables that came on the side were sub par. Service was good.
We wanted to celebrate a special night out at St. Augustine. But we were cut short of a good time. The pipes broke above is and had to move to another table. Don’t know if it was sewage or the pool. But old pipe perhaps? Sierra our server was good.
Excellent spot for brunch in St. Augustine. The hotel is historic and beautiful, the food is delicious, and the service was perfect. Highly recommend.
Absolutely a fine place for a special occasion especially if you are staying at the hotel.
It was wonderful! Great service and delicious food!
We loved the calamari, but the main entreee the $40 grouper lacked flavor and was a very small portion.
Mr. Kessler needs to help this restaurant get back on it's feet. The room was empty when the hostess tried to seat us at a table by the kitchen and high traffic area. (strike one). The drink that was recommended tasted like lemonade (50 degrees outside) and could not taste any liquor. We have been to the Casa Amiga through the years and their bar drinks are below par drinks--no imagination, no blender. Just the most basic drinks. The waitress was sweet and the chef went through the room asking if all was okay but no one was going to say the truth. The filet my husband got was good but it was alone on the plate a few indistinguishable additions measuring 1/8 cup (for $30?). My fish with crab filling had about a tsp of crab and was so dry I could not eat it. Again a few nod to veggies & decoration but nothing else on the plate to total a $30 meal. I'm writing this because perhaps it will inspire the place to make some changes. It is such an unusual place to spend an evening in our little town.
Food was really delicious. Service was the downfall. It wasn’t terrible but just neglectful enough to be annoying.
The service was beyond fantastic and the food was phenomenal. My tastebuds were dancing and my husband said the burger was the best he’s ever had. Kudos to the chef. We will definitely be back anytime we are in town!!
nice variety on menu. food was tasty and presented nicely. setting beautiful and convenient as we were staying in the hotel. service very good. all very good.
Let me start with architecture, the most amazing, historic place.
Delicious food, super attentive and polite staff. We had our son’s wedding dinner at the restaurant. Didn’t even ask for a private room- staff offered!
And we are very sure, every year we will come back there for an anniversary dinner.
So, eating out is something my husband and I Love to do. We also cook at home A LOT. Costa Brava was a very sweet Saint Augustine find but we left without feeling the least bit full. Portion sizes are very small for the cost of the food. Yes, we would return to eat there, but not with our children. If they added some kind of bread service it would be worth it.
Seafood chowder was very good. Chicken was dry. Needs sauce. Short ribs were very good and tender. Drinks were good. Overall, a little overpriced for the quality.
They was under staffed waiting long time and forget the birthday reservation even not candle on the birthday dessert server try her best but overall horrible experience I will not come back
We went for lunch as we couldn’t get a dinner reservation, but wanted to experience the hotel and restaurant. It really is a beautiful place. Moorish inspired decor, and an interesting art gallery to browse through. We booked our table through Open Table. The food was excellent. Not a great deal of choice though, but the turkey open face sandwich was very tasty Would recommend for a special lunch experience!
Service was terrible. Would not recommend as service and price point were not in sync. Would have expected superior service in this upscale hotel.
My son and I had a wonderful experience, everything was top notch! Thank your staff for making our Thanksgiving wonderful!
Could not be seated in dining room even though we had reservations. Was seated near bar and on busy aisle. Service was rushed. Not a desired Thanksgiving experience.
It was a tasty birthday dinner.
Excellent service, we loved it. I will recommend it.
The low score on service was not because of our server but he seemed to be the only person working. This price point and setting deserved top notch service.
