Craftsteak - MGM Grand
Yukon Gold, Chives
18 oz Ribeye
Dry Aged RR Ranch, Bone In
The scallops were fishie and cold. If you want good scallops need to go to Catch @ Aria blew these out of the water. Steak was very good.
We visited Craftsteak on a Monday evening around 8pm to celebrate our recent engagement. The restaurant was quiet and only had a few filled tables. We only received a “congrats on the engagement” from the hostess which was disappointing as that’s a major life event we chose to celebrate here.
We each opted to do the Double R prix fixe. Prior to our reservation, we didn’t realize that it was all chef-selected (including the type of steak you get), but that was okay with us. So the food… our first course was fresh rolls, lobster bisque, and the warm frisée. The top of the rolls were COVERED with salt. Not horrible but as someone that pulls apart their bread, a few bites had me puckering. The lobster bisque was terrific! The warm frisée is where it started really going downhill for me. There was an insane amount of mustard used in this salad - it’s all I could taste. Frankly, it didn’t taste good with the bisque that it was served alongside.
For our main course, I received the filet mignon and my fiancé got the ribeye and shareable sides of the purée potatoes and Brussel sprouts. Both steaks were cooked great but they must’ve used all the salt for the rolls! When the steaks were presented, our server talked up the taste of the char, which you certainly could taste but after chewing a few times it was gone. The Brussels were fine - tons of bacon. Great if you love bacon but definitely took away from the star of the show. Potatoes were my favorite part of the whole meal - thank you, butter!
Lastly dessert. We got both a crème brûlée and the cinnamon monkey bread. Nothing to write home about but not bad.
Overall, we were not impressed. It’s not the most expensive vegas but I’d rather have saved some money and headed over to Outback. Service was good and attentive - sometimes too attentive likely due to the slow evening. I wanted to like it more but lack of seasoning and weird combinations of dishes killed it. If a chef picked that menu, I’m incredulous.
One of the best dinning experiences I've had. As a local and a foodie, we get to experience an array of restaurants. This is certainly in the top 5 in the city. Great service tops of the great experience.
The service was beyond phenomenal. We couldn’t be more pleased from the personal attention received from the various wait staff. We shared the Tier 2 surf n turf meal. Unfortunately the quality of the food wasn’t there for me. I expected a better beef taste from wagyu and perhaps SRF isn’t the best place to purchase beef. The prime grade ribeye I had last month from Flemings steakhouse in Tucson AZ was a better quality cut. I enjoyed the brined salt water background taste from the lobster, but personally I would have preferred a butter n garlic sauce. Overall, we had a good experience. We left with aching belly’s and a satiated appetite.
Got the seafood tower which was good, but the lobster was over cooked and rubbery. Also got the filet, medium rare, that came out rare. Then asked to cook a little more and came back medium to medium well. Very disappointed.
Marvin was super. The table was ready even though we were early. Highly recomended.
Perfect. As always.
Great service and and attention to detail. Pleasant ambience. Delicious Ribeye and wowed by the crème brûlée and coffee too. The asparagus was good and the Lobster Bisque is good and Caesar salad is light and good. Enjoyed our experience. Would recommend.
This is not going to be a cheap meal but it will be an experience of a lifetime. The ambiance, service, quality of the food and attentiveness were outstanding. I would definitely recommend getting 2 different 3 course meals so you can care and contrast.
Delicious food and great service!
Dinner at Craftsteak was AMAZING! Service was beyond accommodating. Loved our anniversary dinner
Excellent service as multiple people were assigned to a section of tables. Food was awesome - steaks done just right and the desserts were excellent.
Food was not cooked to our liking at all! Very over priced for an outback quality. Will not return
We had dinner at Craft Steak. I had the 8-ounce filet mignon for the main entree and my husband had the braised lobster. The steak was cooked to perfection and was tender and easy to slice through. The bearnaise sauce adds a wonderful treat to the flavor. We also enjoyed the baby carrots and the fingerling potatoes. We split a Ceaser salad between us. We were too full for dessert. The restaurant has a quiet noise level compared to other Las Vegas restaurants so you can converse with your dinner partners and enjoy the conversation.
Amazing service and food. They even surprised my husband with cake for his birthday!
Great food and atmosphere.
This used to be one of our favorite places to eat on the strip, but sadly, quality and food has gone down significantly. Can some of this be attributed to covid? Possibly, but we no longer feel this is worth the price. Especially considering the plethora of options in Vegas.
Thank you for a lovely evening! Service was exceptional!
Our server Sharon was great. The service and food is always great. We have a gluten allergy and they are always able to accommodate us.
The ambience of Craftsteak was delightful. The service was over the top and the food was delicious. We went for our anniversary and thoroughly enjoyed this dining experience.
Excellent food and service
We were seated in a small room off the main dining area near a party. A server arrived to give us a short introduction to the restaurant and gave us a wine list and menus. A short time later the wine steward gave us a recommendation for a Brunello. Soon thereafter we ordered from the menu. The server suggested the Wagyu NY Strip and Filet which we combined with a potato and a brussel sprout side dish for two of our 3 course menu options on the Chef’s beef selection menu.
The Brunello that came recommended by the steward was young and fruity but not in a good way. It was overpriced for such a young vintage and lacked any character. When our steaks finally arrived it was apparent that skirt steak was substituted for the NY strip and that the filet was a very small portion. The filet was tender and left me wanting more but the skirt steak was chewy and over seasoned. In retrospect, I should have sent back the skirt steak and had them start over, but jet lag got the best of me. I am not a fan of over altered brussel sprouts and these were no exception. The mashed potato dish was bland.
We ordered desert and received a delicious item called Monkey Bread, and I highly recommend it. Our other desert was Crème Brûlée and if the custard had set it would have been better. All in all, our experience at Craftsteak was not memorable for the service or the food with a couple of exceptions.
Hands down the best steakhouse dinner I’ve ever eaten. Service was outstanding.
Attentive staff without being intrusive. Perfection all around!
Really nice place. Food was good, but not the best in Vegas.
Wonderful, wonderful food! The way they cook the filet mignon is unique, it makes the meat melt like butter in your mouth. Love this place so much, always a must-go in Vegas.
Excellent quality Vegas steakhouse. 3 course meal was good value. Sides were good sized. Desserts were very good also.
Food was good. Service was good. Crafts is a traditional steak house. I ordered the bone in ribeye, my wife the lobster.
La comida está ok sin llegar a 4 estrellas. Es servicio es normal y precio es mediano alto.
Hay mejores opciones para este precio. La carta es muy reducida en carnes. No regresaría
Celebrating my son’s 16th birthday. I’ve never seen him eat so much! It was AWESOME!
Try the peppercorn sauce! Love it!
Was not pleased with the domestic wagyu. It was not tender as expected. At that price point it should have been tender. The quality was subpar, very disappointing.
Excellent food and service
Looking for a great steak, prepared perfectly? This is the spot. We upgraded to the combo meal and fully enjoyed the appetizers (lobster bisque and steak tartare), sides (pomme puree and assorted mushrooms) and dessert (monkey bread and chocolate mousse cake) we chose. The waitstaff was professional and responsive. The wine list was extensive and the sommelier highly knowledgeable. Dinner for two, with tip: $470.
Very surprised that the steak really had no flavor at all. Not bad in any way, just nothing over the top here. Wanted to try one of Tom's restaurants and now the box is checked.
Great food - we chose the Chef's menu, only specified a filet as one of the steaks, the chef picked the rest. It came with the best lobster bisque I have ever tasted, a salad that was to die for, a ribeye and a filet topped off with Crème Brule & sorbet and ice cream. Probably 1 of the best 3 steak dinners I have ever had.
Outstanding food and ambiance. Noise was a little loud with outside revelers and conversations carrying
Food was spot on….
Service was average
The Craftsteak at MGM never fails to deliver. Fantastic food and service to match.
