Crush - Sandusky
A real treat. Service was attentive and not overbearing. The food was excellent - perfect portions and great prices. A real gem for Sandusky! Look forward to returning.
Always a great experience ❤️
What I love most about Crush Sandusky is its consistency. Never had a bad meal here. One minor complaint is that the main menu has not changed significantly since the restaurant's opening many years ago but fortunately, there are a variety of specials each night. Staff and bartenders are uniformly helpful, friendly and provide excellent service.
My fillet first came medium well, not medium rare like I ordered. My girlfriend never got the cheese she ordered. Lots of cold air coming in from the front door.
Outstanding dinner, attentive service, and great atmosphere! I love Crush! The Mac & Cheese is amazing!
Everything was top notch! The food and service were phenomenal. We couldn’t have chose a nicer place to celebrate my sons 21st birthday with our family.
While we were seated and orders taken in a timely manner, we unfortunately had to wait an hour and a half for our food. Others who came in after us received their food before us. Not sure if the problem was with the server or the kitchen. They did write off our food bill, so we just paid for drinks. That was appreciated, but we were quite disappointed overall.
Great wine bar with unique and well prepared dishes. Best sushi in the area. Super friendly staff and owner usually present to greet quests.
We stopped off to have dinner in the midst of a 5 Hour Drive home. Was a very nice experience overall. Staff were very friendly and the food was excellent.
As usual a great culinary experience!!!
Crush is a wonderful!
My husband and I had a wonderful evening celebrating Valentine’s Day at Crush. We will be back again. Our server, Steve, was amazing!
Amazing food, but very poor service. Once our server found out we were not going to order alcohol she seemed to lose interest in us. Our grilled shrimp small plate came out pretty quickly and was delicious. Our entrees, however, which were ordered before the shrimp arrived, took an hour to be served. Our server seemed surprised as least twice that we didn't have our food, but clearly didn't try to fix it. When our entrees arrived they were piping hot and obviously freshly prepared, leaving us to believe that our server never put the order in. The dinners were amazing and beautifully presented. My husband's plate was cleared when he was done eating. My plate was never cleared. It took another 15 to 20 minutes for our server to return to offer dessert. We declined and asked for our check. We went to another restaurant for dessert. I should mention this was Valentine's day. The restaurant was nowhere near capacity when we were there. Additionally, we sat so long waiting for our food that a band began playing, making it virtually impossible to talk. Overall this was a disappointment and we will not go back or recommend Crush to our friends.
Wife and I were very excited to try Crush and decided to finally go. The meal was excellent although the wife chicken pesto was a little on the strong side even for me! Could have used a lighter pesto and more cream. My ribeye was cooked perfectly which doesn’t happen often at other places. Dessert was superb, we had the brownie this fine but when we first tried a small plate during a quick bite over bike week we had the pineapple upside down cake which was even better.
Service was great and very friendly!
They had live music next door in the other half of the wine bar and it was nice, not overly loud in the dining area. We could still have a nice conversation.
We have had really good servers there… And some average servers. The excellent food makes up for everything!
We normally love dining here. However, we were sat next to a couple with a toddler who cried a lot. Not certain why people would bring a toddler into a "date night" type if restaurant on a Sat. night. However, they were continued to be served wine to the point that they could not remove the child from the high chair. The woman was cursing at the man & the entire restaurant was staring. I felt the server should have swiftly cashed them out, however she continued to work very, very slow, as she did all evening in which she served us. Very disappointing Anniversary dinner. I'm sure we'll give it another shot once the bitterness wears off.
Small plate artichoke and calamity was delicious, pasta and pizza were made perfectly.
This evening was a surprise date for my husband and I. Our server, Steve, was so amazing and willing to be a part of the surprise. The food was amazing. Really no complaints.
We will be back soon.
Overall enjoyed my return to Crush Winebar. The service was very good by Stephanie on a night she wasn't feeling 100 % and the night was busy with customers. Both myself and my guest ordered the pork chop dinner with green beans and mashed potatoes. The chop was moist, tasty and cooked properly. The green beans were spiced well and served hot. The mashed potatoes were cold and should have been hot. The dessert "Death By Chocolate" was delicious as well as the martinis. Overall good.
Our party of 4 had a very delicious and delightful evening. We enjoyed our drinks, appetizers, and meals. We highly recommend Crush. We have yet to have a bad meal or experience at Crush.
Excellent experience in all ways.
We arrived on time(if not early) for our reservation. After ordering a starter and our entree we did not receive the usual level of service we have come to expect from Crush. In fact after getting our appetizer we did not receive any service. At all. We left two hours later without eating. Other patrons came after us, were served and left. We finally left as well.
This was our second visit after a fantastic time last year. Unfortunately this time the food was not up to last year's standard. We waited a whe for our appetizers then the main course was dumped on us before we were ready. Seafood in the pasta dish although plentiful was uniformly rubbery..and waitstaff was pkeasant but we felt ignored while people there to eat before a concert were served. Will we go back? Probably not.
Excellent service! Food was great as usual. If you like Pineapple Upside Down Cake Martinis- Samantha make the best ones- always a welcoming feel when you are there. Fun evening!
Cool atmosphere and great food . Service was alright not great
The big draw back was guitar player was way too loud . I was there for a first date not a concert and couldn’t hear due to volume of musician
He was good just too loud for venue
Nice wine selection but short pour. Could use a refresh on menu for some new idea
Good food and service was VERY good....a little more separation of seating would make it perfect.
I can’t rate this restaurant properly, but there was no way to get to this screen without a rating. We had a reservation for 3 for lunch Tuesday 10/8/19. We arrived at the restaurant and it was closed. The sign on the door said closed on Mondays & Tuesdays. If they switched to winter hours, it needs to be reflected in the reservation system.
Great dinner as always but our waiter was somewhat condescending.
My wife is a bigger fan of Crush than I. I feel there are better choices downtown.
Steve was a fantastic and knowledgeable waiter! Food and taste on spot. Easy to find parking. Oysters were fantastic, great flavor. Highly recommend.
Not sure how to rate because the door was locked.
Need to update hours. We arrived for our reservation on time and the sign on the door said closed. There phone was out of service earlier in the day when we attempted to confirm so we went ahead and showed up.
Great meal. Great wine selection. We had 2 kids s us not a great choice for kids. Service on slow side but nice cozy atmosphere.
Fine dining, friendly helpful staff, clean, delicious food and drinks!
Service was great and the food was outstanding, the only issue was the bar tender poured the wrong vodka when making our cocktails.
The service was very good. The salmon preparation was absolutely outstanding. The best salmon I’d had in years. Good knowledge of wines by the server.
We hadn't been to Crush in a few years but decided to try it again with friends this past weekend. We'd had only a pizza before, but this time had an appetizer, salad and entree, all of which were delicious. The service was top notch too. Our server took great care of us, and we spent a leisurely evening enjoying our friends and the food. The cedar plank aukra salmon with edamame succotash was stellar. The salmon was cooked to perfection - crispy on the outside, but med rare on the inside and nice and juicy. The edamame succotash was unique and the perfect accompaniment. The starter of deep fried artichokes was good as well, without being heavy or greasy. We usually go to their sister restaurant, Zinc Brasserie, but have been disappointed with their food lately so Crush was a great alternative.
Pros - almost every tapas was well executed and delicious. The wines by the glass had good variety. Wines by the bottle were a good selection as well.
Cons - a little in the loud side. Understaffed on the bar side where we ate a a high top. But our server was delightful but overworked.
Need reservations but people were walking into the bar side and just sitting down while people were waiting to be seated at the hostess station. There were open tables on the kitchen side but not enough staff set and serve it. Need a better process.
Bottom line is that I would go back again if I were in town.
Great dinning experience. Cozy atmosphere. However, the glass on the front was super bright causing me to not be able to see across the table most of the meal. We had fried artichokes that were the best thing ever and pasta that was amazing.
We waited 45 minutes for our sushi which was waaaay too long. Waiter kept saying it was coming, but it didn’t. We were ready to leave when it finally arrived.
