Located in Oakland’s historic Grand Lake District, Bardo is a neighborhood lounge and restaurant inspired by the comfort and camaraderie of a mid-century dinner party. Drawing on the celebration and elegance of old school entertaining, we envisioned a space for friends and neighbors to enjoy amazing food, cocktails, conversation and great music. Our lounge is a swank living room, furnished with hand-picked finds from antique and vintage markets from Palm Springs to Portland. Our mezzanine dining room features a rotating menu of fresh, seasonal supper-fare with local and sustainably sourced meats, fish and produce. While we think the food, drinks and atmosphere are all great reasons to visit us, it’s the relationships with our friends, neighbors and guests that is the driving force behind Bardo.

    Superb. This place is special- from the midcentury furnishings to the ambient lighting and upscale lounge atmosphere to the handcrafted beautifully plated food (yes, that's an art form for outstanding chefs!) and genuine warm service, we had a fabulous birthday celebration dinner for a dear friend! Thank you, Bardo, for attending to all the details that make dining out an extravagant affair. Loved it all & will be back!

    We dined at Primavera last night and had a wonderful time. My family has been coming here for nearly 30 years. Their food and service was impeccable! We ordered the bread with the caponata dipping sauce, chicken piccata, salmon dill, butternut squash ravioli, linguine bolognese, spumoni gelato, and the crème brûlée. The food came out quick and was so fresh and delicious! Our server Andres went above and beyond! Victor was also very helpful as well. It was wonderful to see the restaurant busy on a Wednesday night. It was a lively and fun atmosphere.  I would eat here every day if I could!

    Wonderful service by Nicole! Delicious tomahawk steak and sides. The Brussels sprouts are amazingly flavorful with large bits of bacon. This is our go to for anniversary dinners and birthdays. Quality is always top notch. Our hostess surprised us with a memorable photo, what a great idea!

    Went for lunch on a Saturday. Very few people dining so we had our choice of outdoor seating with views of the runways. Staff was attentive. Food was delicious and large portions! Only suggestion might be pillows in the chairs (they were not uncomfortable but would be cushier with). Will definitely return
