The Duke of Cleveland is situated on the Headland in Hartlepool, just a short distance from the coast and next to St Hilda's Church. It is a listed building and the oldest one still in use in the town. Our establishment is a restaurant and pub with an excellent reputation for serving traditional homemade British dishes. We take pride in sourcing produce from local businesses as much as possible and use these ingredients to create the best dishes for our patrons. Our signature dishes include Haddock in our special beer batter with hand-cut chips and the local speciality, the chicken parmesan. We believe in keeping things simple and making them well. On Sundays, we offer a traditional roast dinner with a choice of Roast Rib of Beef, Loin of Pork, Breast of Chicken or Lamb Shank.The Duke of Cleveland is the ideal venue for weddings and other special occasions or events. It has a choice of function rooms suited to your requirements. In the summer months, we open our cosy bear garden.

    Came to Leeds to visit my daughter who is at Leeds University and wanted to go somewhere nice for lunch , I found Sous Le Nez online , liked the reviews and booked , it didn’t disappoint , lovely food and wine , lovely service and a lovely ambiance . The best meal out I have had in ages . When she graduates I will definitely book this place to celebrate afterwards .

    Another enjoyable visit to the Fat Badger . The food was exemplary as always and the staff are a credit to the organisation . We also booked into the hotel for a 1 night stay as we were going to the theatre and my wife and I really enjoy the cleanliness and comfort . We are already planning our next visit to the Hotel and Fat Badger .

    We went for lunch on Saturday myself & a friend. They had a wedding happening at the same time, so it was quite noisy, but that was fine by us, you would expect that. The young lady who served us was brilliant. She was under a lot of pressure what with wedding guests & diners, but she coped beautifully. A lovely setting, lovely food, and we were well taken care of by our waitress .
