Embracing the sublime pleasure of drink, the joy of good food and the comfort of family – Pourhouse is the embodiment of a passion for sharing the simple indulgences of life with friends. Just southeast of the steam clock in Gastown, Pourhouse harkens back to century-old styles of drinking and dining. The 100-year-old building was built in 1910, as home to the Leckie Boot Company – the original structure crafted with Douglas fir ceilings, supported by large wood pillars, and brick walls. Pourhouse is furnished in antiques of the era – complemented by custom creations. Every piece in Pourhouse has a story. The cornerstone is the 38 ft. bar – lovingly handcrafted from 120 year-old planks of reclaimed Douglas fir. Entrance and hallway walls are finished with era-inspired textures and gold leaf detailing – no aesthetic left unconsidered.

    The menu is small, but EVERYTHING on it was amazing! You have to try the scotch egg, the Pourhouse burger, the lobster mac and cheese, and the meatballs . It’s also in Gastown, so the walk to and from Canada Place is nice and there are plenty of cool shops as local sights along the way. The drinks were also spectacular. Check out the Old Fashioned in the Canada section of the drink menu.

    On my third visit and I was greeted by name which was very nice. Beautiful seasonal salad with poached cherries was exceptional. Paired this with a pasta of the day and pizza - both excellent. Service was top notch - friendly and very efficient. I am not surprised as this restaurant group knows what they are doing from the get go. Always impressed!

    We went as a group of 4 and had the standard tasting menu. It was well thought out and we really enjoyed all the dishes. We were also impressed with the drinks we ordered. Dishes I’d recommend are the duck, the oeuf mayonnaise, and the mussels - everything on the menus is delicious and well balanced. The service was great - very attentive. We had a lovely night.
