サンフランシスコ湾沿いにあるアメリカン・フレンチの名店「Boulevard（ブールバード）」さん。ハロウィンを控えた10月中旬の夕暮れ、17時45分の予約で訪問しました。入り口では骸骨のデコレーションがユーモラスにお出迎え。店内は煉瓦造りのアーチ天井と温かな照明が印象的で、平日でも多くの人で賑わう人気ぶりでした。スターターはダンジネスクラブのホイップアボカド。トマトのジュレとグリーンソースが織りなす彩りの美しさ。蟹の甘み、ライムの酸味、アボカドのまろやかさが調和し、香りの余韻が心地よく続きます。メインはアンガスビーフのフィレ。外は香ばしく、中はルビーのように艶やかなミディアムレア。シャロットとポートバター、ベーコンの旨味が重なり合い、濃厚ながらも品のある味わい。マッシュポテトのなめらかさがバランスを整えます。デザートはストロベリーとブラウンシュガーのアレット。甘酸っぱいベリーと軽やかなパイ、ラズベリーソルベが口の中でとろける幸福感。合わせた白ワイン、コンドリュー“Deponcins”2022（François Villard）はヴィオニエの香りが際立ち、杏や蜂蜜のような芳醇なアロマが料理を引き立ててくれました。全体を通して、華やかでありながら落ち着いた時間を過ごせる上質なレストラン。サンフランシスコで特別な夜を過ごしたい方におすすめです。
