My wife and I turned up at The Talbot on a very hot day about quarter of an hour before it was scheduled to open, at noon. A staff member kindly showed us to an outside table in a shaded position and suggested we sat there until opening time. A little later he also very kindly brought us a glass of tap water each to drink while we waited. We had booked to eat lunch at noon and very much enjoyed the two plates of Greek salad we had ordered. The salads were excellent, and ample. We ate them with sourdough bread, which was also excellent. As The Talbot filled up we enjoyed seeing the other guests receiving friendly welcomes similar to the greeting we had been given.

We live around the corner but this was our first visit in ages. Mum, dad, wife, baby and chihuahua all had a great time. Service with a smile and a laugh, lovely food and big portions, and we sat inside where it was quiet and cool, but might venture outside next time. They were also very accommodating of baby.

Had not attended TF since refurbishment and was pleasantly surprised. Staff were very attentive and friendly and food was delicious and portions generous .

Came after seeing their Sunday roast on socials and can say we were not disappointed. We had some items off their à la carte menu too and would definitely come back again for dinner. Their cocktails were good quality, definitely somewhere to come the girls. Service was good and everyone was so friendly, atmosphere was relaxed so I didn’t feel rushed to order and leave. Highly recommend!

Staff were excellent and food was perfect Suggest getting free wine deal for 2 plus dinners
