Enjoy our double sided fire places or in the warmer months our dog friendly blue-stone courtyard!The bistro menu features a staple of great steaks, parmas, schnitzel, burgers, pizzas and a barramundi fish and chips, plus many daily specials a list of eight to 10 house-made desserts, as well as a nutritious $14 menu for under-12s. Every day, we offer at least 4 vegetarian options and vegan dishes. Our wine lists boasting over 70% regional wines from our cool climate vineyards within the Macedon Ranges and surrounds.

The Munster Arms, one of Ballarat’s oldest pubs, opened in 1862, named after Ireland’s Munster province. Jeremiah Shelley, the first publican from County Clare, immigrated with his family to honor his homeland. Ireland has four provinces: Munster, Leinster, Connaught, and Ulster, with Munster in the south, including Clare, Cork, Galway, Kerry, Limerick, Tipperary, and Waterford. Jeremiah married Johanna D'Arcy, also from Munster, and they opened the Munster Arms Hotel in Bakery Hill in 1862, a name familiar to Irish migrants in Ballarat. Prior to the hotel, Jeremiah was a Stawell police officer. He died in 1876 at 44. Johanna managed the hotel until 1920, setting the record as Victoria's longest-serving licensee for 59 years. After her death, every hotel door from Ballarat East to the old cemetery closed in tribute. We aim to recreate the Shelleys' warm hospitality and invite you to visit The Munster Arms Hotel for a meal and drink!

    Fantastic food and an incredible wine selection! Baringo Food & Wine Co. completely delivered on both fronts. The food was absolutely delicious, the bistro mains were full of flavor and cooked to perfection. To top it off, their drinks list is exceptional. They have a fantastic curated selection of wines (and a really cool view into the cellar below), plus great local craft beers. The staff were friendly and attentive, making for a perfect meal out. Highly recommend! The venue has a great, lively atmosphere, though it can get quite busy and noisy on the weekend, so service took just a little longer than expected. Overall, a great spot that I’d happily return to.

    Excellent pub food with a few special additions on the menu. Great atmosphere and friendly staff. Food tasted fantastic and great value. Will definately be going again for lunch or dinner.

    We booked multiple tables for an end of season celebration and we were pleasantly surprised by the level of service that we experienced, particularly on a busy Friday night. The staff took time to ensure everyone was catered for, received their food together and were continually monitored. The good was good and the steaks were flawless - well cooked, will seasoned and definitely good value.
