We do offer reservations in advance for parties of 1-8 people every evening. Reservation appointments are 1 hour 30 minutes for parties of 2 or 3 (1:45 for 4-5 guests; 2:30 for 6-8 guests)

At Langbaan, classic Thai food is transformed into a refined five-course tasting menu using the bounty of Pacific Northwest ingredients. We pride ourselves on providing a unique Thai-style dining experience inspired by century-old traditions here in Portland, Oregon. Our tasting menu changes seasonally, inspired by different regions of Thailand and the cultural history that surrounds the regions. Immersive, convivial, and intimate, the restaurant has only 33 seats and offers two seatings each night. We are hidden inside our sister restaurant, Phuket Cafe, on NW 23rd Place & Thurman.Reservations are released in one-month blocks. Bookings become available at noon on the 15th for the following month. (I.e., January reservations become available on the 15th of December.)

Khao San is an authentic Thai street food restaurant that offers a small menu of small plate cuisine. From the menu to the décor, Khao San strives to provide a traditional Thai environment for diners to enjoy lunch and dinner. The dinner menu at Khao San includes starters of fresh summer rolls, calamari, coco potato fries, som tum Thai, yum near and larb. Entrées from the grill and wok include crying tiger, chicken wings, e-san sausage, spicy green bean with crispy pork belly, pad prik pow crispy chicken and spicy crispy chicken basil. Rice and noodle dishes offer pad thai street style with shrimp and crab noodles.

    Wonderfully flavored food with options that surpass those of your typical Thai restaurant. The chicken wings are THE BEST version of the chicken wings that I have ever had. The house-made sausage was also a highlight. In Lighting and volume were pleasant. It was easy to have a conversation despite the full restaurant. Great, knowledgeable, and friendly service. We had a great time and hope to be back in the future.

    I was in Portland and decided to treat myself to dinner at Langbaan. I’m glad I did. From the food and wine pairings to the hospitality, everything was top-notch. Every course was beautifully presented, full of flavor, and clearly had a lot of thought behind it. The whole evening just came together. It wasn’t simply going out for dinner; it was an experience I really enjoyed from beginning to end. It was definitely a splurge, but worth every penny. I’m glad I made Langbaan part of my Portland trip, and I’d absolutely go back. If you’re visiting Portland and looking for a special dining experience, put this one on your list. You won’t regret it.
