Before the James Beard Award and the Gourmet Magazine review, Lotus of Siam was a small little hole in the wall located in Commercial Center in Las Vegas. November 1999 was the month Chef Saipin and her husband Bill took over Lotus of Siam. Since then, Thai food became an adventure for those willing to step out of their comfort zones for Asian Cuisine. Chef Saipin’s distinct cooking has been passed down from generation to generation, from both her grandmothers and her husband’s grandmothers. Her northern style cooking has opened America into the “Northern” world of Thailand, away from the Bangkok style of sweet and tang. The northern menu consists of hearty herbs and spices, along with Thai style stews and coconut-less curries. Through her set menus, our guests can dine and enjoy recipes from over 100 years in the Chutima family.

    Service was delightful. The food was OUTSTANDING. They were readily able to accommodate dietary restrictions and modified dishes accordingly. The General Tso chicken was crispy and tangy. The pad Thai was not overly spicy and had a smooth buttery texture. We started with crispy vegetarian spring rolls with a wonderful dipping sauce. YUM

    mango salad is one of our favorites- offered 1-10 in heat and we got a 3 -plenty hot! loved the pineapple rice with shrimp and overall very consistent over years of eating here

    The Lotus of Siam-Sahara is finally reopened! The quality of the food is superb. What makes LofS so good is that regardless of the ordered dish, the quality remains the same. Noise level is well managed such that conversation is not labored. The menu is broad enough to provide a diverse scope of options that will satisfy the most discriminating of patrons. I'll be back!

    We loved this restaurant and will definitely make it part of our annual trip to Las Vegas! The fish curry was the very best! Very reasonable for the quality of the food and wine. Ing provided top-level service. Can't wait to go back!
